Hi,
I'm using the the Android Revolution ROM and it all works fine but i think my earphones are broke. I do get sound but whenever i plug in my earphones it starts doing weird stuff like calling last dialed number turning on music and skipping songs. Now i dont know if it has something to do with the earphones maybe altering voltage or current and thus making a command but i would like to try to turn of headset commands, does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks in advance!
Bob

headset blocker from the android market should sort out your problems. i had similar problems on my stock headphones when they started to die, but it seems to be a common problem with some after market headsets
Thank you i already found that app but was hoping i didn't need to use that app.
But thanks anyway!
Hello, XDA forum. I come because I have not been able to solve this problem with the information I've found on this forum. Usually my problems a 're solved by searching the forum. But this time I had to make a post with my problem in hopes of getting it solved.
I have a problem where my earphones work fine for music and OS sounds but not for calls. I've tried my own skull candy earphones and the Samsung earphones provided with the phone. I try to make a call with the earphones plugged in and I get no sound at all. I have to unplug and replug them in after the call has started for me to be able to hear the call through my earphones. Else it plays through phone's earpiece even with earphones plugged in ( if I have not replugged them in). Same thing for receiving calls.
I've tried restoring to factory settings and flashing a new Rom but doesn't help.
Why help is appreciated. Thbank you.
is your phone fully stock(no root or anything)? if so, i'd ask for an exchange, sounds like it may be a hardware issue.
Actually, I am rooted. I remember being able to use my earphones for calls before I rooted. Then I switched to Free GS3 Rom linked below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1748818
I searched that thread and found two people with the same problem but no replies. The thread moves along too quickly I guess. I'm starting to think there's something in that Rom that causes it. But I restored and flashed another Rom and it's the same. I'm planning on posting a solution in that thread if I find one.
Thanks for your reply, though. I'm really trying to get this fixed.
Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone has a suggestion for me wrt to audio problems with my wife's Sprint Galaxy S3.
On a fully stock up to date S3, about 3 days ago all sound stopped working, this includes alarms, answer calls, key press sounds, playing music. However after a reboot, it would start working again for 6 hours or so, and then quit again. I assumed this was a software issue of some sort. I have an older rooted phone which I love and have had for years, I suggested that we finally root her S3, so she could get all those benefits plus fix whatever little software problem this was.
The rooting process when fine, and the phone now has CWM and CM 10.1.2 (Android 4.2.2). However the audio issue is still there and in fact a reboot no longer fixes the issue.
I have tried pluggin in the ear buds w/ built in mic, and those too fail to work. I also have paired various bluetooh devices like mini boom boxes etc.. they all pair fine however there is no audio output from them. No audio in the dial pad when hitting the numbers. When trying to play music the DSP Manager will crash, and then the music app crashes (tried Apollo and Google music). If I go to the sound recorder and hit record, it pops up with "Internal application error.".
So it seems all audio (speaker, mic, bluetooth, and headset) is broken which again makes me think software, but even after rooting and installing a new rom like Cyanogenmod the issue is here.
Any thoughts on what else I can try? Any firmware updates that I could apply specific to audio issues like this, or perhaps it is some sort of hardware issue that is preventing the software drivers from behaving properly?
thanks,
fishtek
I would Odin back to complete stock and see if the issue still arises. If it does then it could be hardware related.
Same problem

I have that sane issue and nothing I do seems to work.
Hello.
I have installed Cyanogenmod 11 on my HOX.
although everything looks to be working fine, I still have issues with my Bluetooth.
When driving in my car, and want to place a call, I used to be able to use Cyberon Voice Commander to place the call.
It still works when i use it on my phone without Bluetooth, but when I am connected to my car everything stays silent.
It worked with stock firmware, and I can recieve calls using bluetooth, and I also can use the car stereo to play music from my phone,
but just making a call with the Voice commander does not work.
Does anyone have similar experiences with this, or does anyone have a solution?
Search the thread, been mentioned a lot there !
Hello,
I have been searching, and also looked in the thread for the HTC (HTC One X CyanogenMod 11.0 nightlies, http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583037) but I could not find an issue which is matching my problem.
Unfortunately I am (yet) not able to post this issue in the HTC One Cyagenomod thread...
I don't own a BT headset so I can't properly debug the issue. I know that a lot of people complain about it but there is not much I can do unless they actively try to help. You could provide logs when pairing the device, turning it on and when doing a call.
I might by a BT headset in the future. So there is hope .
Hello,
I was not sure which logfiles you wanted, so I grabbed the output from dmegs and made a logcat and put it in a zip fie.
Here they are.
Thanks for your effort, though.
Thanks for the logs.
Can you describe the behaviour a bit more? What exactly does not work? Imitating the call through Bluetooth, hearing your partner through Bluetooth or recording through Bluetooth. And can you test other apps for me. Like Skype or the normal phone without cyberon.
Do you know if your car is recognized as a normal handsfree Bluetooth device or something special? If you happen to know it.
Also some apps (like Google Now) need to be told to use BT devices.
Hello,
Bluetooth itself is working normally, I can use it to play music on my car's stereo, and when I recieve a call it works fine, I can hear the other party, and they can hear me.
It's just when I want to make a call, I can see Cyberon Voice commander starting up, but I don't hear any sound, and it also does not respond on voice commands.
When I disable Bluetooth, the app works normal.
On stock HTC rom, the app also works fine.
I own a Ford Focus 2011, and it shows up in bluetooth as Ford Audio.
The profiles active are audio for telephone and audio for media (sorry, translated from dutch).
The default Voice Dialer at least I can hear on my headset, haven't tried in the car yet with this version of Cyanogenmod.
It does not seem to respond to the micophone though.
The previous version of Cyagenomod would also not play over my car speakers.
Will try again when I get back home, did not use my car today.
Please test tomorrows nightly. I fixed some issues and I think they address your problems.
Try this Kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586808 On the latest Version is a fix for BT maybe it helps
Hello,
just tried to test the "Voice dialer" through my car stereo, I can hardly hear it, and it does not recognize anything I say.
At least not in a way it would be useful for me
With tomorrows version you mean CM-11-20140314-Nightly, or the one after that?
Could not see anything about Bluetooth in the changelog, but I'll wait for the next version.
Will report back.

With the other kernel? You probably already had the BT fix when using the CM kernel.

Hello,
I tested it with yesterday Nighties, and it's working now.
Cyberon Voice Commander could now be used with the Car bluetooth set.
Thank you for solving this.
I hope the logs I uploaded were of any use.
btw, I did take a look at the change log, and the line "tegra3-common: system/audio.h: Use correct DEVICE_BIT_IN bits" didn't ring any bells in my head in combination with Bluetooth.
Anyway, it is solved for me (and maybe for several others as well), so I want to express my gratitude by saying: Thank you very much:highfive:.
Hello, I have been using the W03 SlimKat ROM and use 4.4.2, there have been major changes and want to use the latest version but for some reason the Google Voice search does not work with the headphones in any newer version. Anyway to fix this? I'd post in the appropriate thread but I cannot as I do not have enough posts and whatnot.
I have to do a temporary workaround and lose my mic on my headphones (Marshall Major headphones) and switched the cord around so the microphone only works on the phone but not the headset. Just let me know if anyone has had this issue and a resolution please! ^_^
