Hi
I wonder if it's possible to use my old Galaxy Nexus as Android TV box? Is there a ROM for that, or something?
I want to install a game that requires Android TV (You don't know Jack), so a Chromecast-mod is not enough.
Thank you for any help!

Hey,
I was wondering if technically will the Kindle Fire (1st Gen) ever be able to support Miracast.
For those that don't know, Miracast was added to Android 4.2 for the Nexus 7/10, and is a response to AirPlay.
I know it will take a while for Android 4.2 to be ported to the Kindle Fire (1st Gen), but I am curious if anyone knows if any Hardware constraint, mainly the GPU, will stop our wonderful Fires from having this feature.
If not, this might finally push me over the edge to buy a Nexus 7.
Thanks!
Wait for Android 4.2 to get realsed and then see.
Sorry for bump this old theme and my poor english... but... i recently flashed the ROM CM11.0/SGT7 in the hope that there appear miracast and i can use my KF with PTV3000. To my great regret the tablet cant see miracast adapter :crying:

I own the Note 10.1 2014 edition (Wi-Fi). When I am using the Panasonic TV Remote 2 application and trying to stream the video from my Panasonic VT60 to the tablet through wifi, I am getting a freezed image or no image at all..
I have tried the same app on my Galaxy Note II and worked great!
I have also tried on the Asus TF300F and even on galaxy S3 mini works great.
I am very disappointed because this is something very important for me..
It has something to do with the processor?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Petros
p.s. sorry for my English
Hey guys, I have a Fire TV unit, that unfortunately cannot be rooted. I love using it but the 8gb storage limit is almost impossible to work with. So, i went out and bought a Matricom G-Box Q, just so I could use it for Kodi/XBMC. I am wondering, can Fire TV apps work on a regular 4.4 Kitkat Android box and if so, how could the apks be downloaded without them going specifically to the Fire TV box? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Hello all im after a simple question answered if its at all possible and maybe a little direction on how its acheived.
I have an old galaxy s4 GT-i9505 with a broken screen running as a makeshift android tv.
Its plugged directly into a TV through mhl and serves its purpose very well.
Its mainly used for Netflix/Kodi or any other Tv catchup type app.
Its currently being controlled a number of ways, mainly with a amazon firestick Bluetooth remote, (s4 runs much better than a stick BTW) but certain apps (Netflix, various tv apps) dont recognise the centre button.
However this isnt an issue as I have different methods to control apps that dont use my remote too well (droidmote).
What my main question is, when installing an app say Netflix on an android phone how can I get the app to think its being installed onto an android tv device like FireTV,firestick, nexus, or any generic android tv box?
Is there a way to modify my rom to enable fooling detection of Android tv?
If this is not possible is there any android tv rom I might be able to use on the gt-i9505?
Last question Id like answered, is there anyway I can map the buttons on my Bluetooth remote to ger the centre button working?
I would be very grateful if any devs who may read this help out by letting me know if any of this is possible, ive exhausted Google search but came up with nothing.
Thanks alot.
Just to add to this, am I able to use gapps for Android tv? Or should I use the micro option?
Again really appreciate any help or pointers.
+1
Hi All,
Is it possible to download the Android TV app and install it on a standard Android box?
Also iv noticed apps such as 'IGN for android TV' view differently and more conveniently in TV mode rather unlike the phone version of the app. So the IGN android TV app displays everything neatly for TV mode but the phone version has a very different layout. Is it possible to install android TV apps on standard android box or switch the viewing mode? Im trying to get the Android TV mode experience on a standard box. Does anyone know how to do this please?
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks.
