[Q] Nexus 7 LTE Flashed wrong ROM - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

I tried lurking around the forum but couldn't find anything related so ...
here goes ....
I've a bricked Nexus (deb) at hand I believe the owner flashed wrong firmware/ROM its now stuck at boot animation...
I've tried formatting via TWRP...
successfully flashed LP firmware via flash-all.bat
tried wiping data & cache partition on stock recovery ...
its just wont complete booting. I've charged it full and let it stuck at the boot animation until the battery ran out...
does it make any difference if I flash an earlier version firmwares?
or do I have to manually flash every component of it?
I've ran out of ideas, may someone help? I'm so confused
[SOLVED]
flash latest TWRP
reboob recovery
send customROM.zip to internal storage...
flash ROM.zip
reboob system

no one?? ... can someone, anyone, tell me either can it be helped? or can't it? does it means its hardware related issue? ...

hmm search for a recovery, then flash it. once successful, try flashing a compatible rom

Id try using fastboot to flash each partition manually. Make sure you're on the right bootloader/radio.

@williamcunananjr do you mean a custom ROM? Haven't try that
@yosmokinman I'll try using the files in the stock image
Thanks guys... I'll try both & report back [emoji106]

If you're stuck at the boot animation after flashing factory images, you need to also factory reset.

did that @Aerowinder wipe data only, wipe data & cache and i even left it for a whole battery life ... tried on a few version too

[Q] rom issue

Hello, I've recently acquired the htc one x from a friend, i came from the sensation. I was trying to do some rom jumping today and put myself into a bit of a pickle.
what you alls need to know is that i accidently deleted the back ups. and now i have no roms to flash and none installed. I can get to twrp and mount to usb, but on the computer end it says i need to format disk before I can do anything. Since that's not really an option I seem to be stuck with no roms and no way to get a rom on it. I would like to put clean 5.0 back on and stick with that until i can better grasp the adb process on the one x. Any help would be appreciated, thank you -

you won't be stuck by deleting twrp, you can always flash any custom recovery from fastboot
with that i was able to get the rom onto it and install. however now I am in cleanrom 5.0 and I'm recieving .process and .phone failures and re boots. any idea how to proceed?

have you flashed the rom's boot.img?
it claims it does it for you at the end? unfortunately i wanted to avoid that whole thing which is what got me into this mess.

what are you talking about!? if you flash a rom (clean 5.0 in your case) you will also have to flash its boot.img to get it running!
at the end of the rom installation process it says it flashes the boot image for you.

never heard of an automatic flash of boot.img, it couldn't be possible cause you are not S-OFF
o ok. i've managed to flash it via http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1634786
unfortunately it didn't help that i got the phone and it had already been rooted, would have rather done it myself.
thank yo for all of your help!

!??!?!??!!??!? could you speak english please? i cannot help you if i do not understand your problem
ok, i'll take it from the top- turn on phone into bootloader. I can no longer get to recovery. I have tried flashing twrp to no avail. when i reset it will go to cleanrom and bootloop. I need to completely reset and re install recovery and rom. just can't get it working for some reason
fastboot erase cache
Go recovery and erase the cache and dalvik cache.
i would but now recovery goes to boot loop, even after i try and flash recovery (twrp and cwm)
fastboot erase cache
i have erased cashe in fastboot through one x tool kit and fastboot flasher. now it goes to the rom and the rom crashes and re boots. :/ how can i wipe and re install rom through fastboot?
also if i click recovery it goes to white htc screen with red dev warning text, then loops
I don't know. I don't know what your tool is doing.
Have you tried reflashing latest recovery? I recommend clockworkmod 5.8.4.0.
is that for gsm ? mine is att version, dk if that matters here
Oh FFS.
You're asking questions about a dual core snapdragon phone in a forum for a quad core Tegra3 based phone and you only wonder out loud now whether that matters?
Yes. Yes it does.
Now go ask questions about your phone in the forum for your phone before you break it.

Flashing Stock Rom Stuck at Boot Screen

Hey guys,
So I've been trying to get back to a stock rom because I am trying to sell my phone now, but everytime I flash a firmware from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1949687 using Odin, it gets stuck at boot screen no matter which one i flash even if it's pre-rooted or not. So is there any other way to flash stock rom without Odin or is there something I am doing wrong that is getting me stuck on this boot screen?
Thanks.
enter recovery mode and wipe data / factory reset.

Before you tried using Odin to flash the stock or stock rooted firmware which
custom rom did you flash, and was the custom rom you flashed working properly
before you tried to flash back to stock or stock rooted?
Okay well after flashing this over so many times, the stock rom finally went through. Not sure what was holding it up, but no need to help anymore guys. Thanks.

Go to stock recovery by pressing volume up and power until it says booting recovery in blue letters at the top of the screen.
Wipe cache, then wipe/format data 3x or 4x and then try reflashing the stock rom.
Stock Rom provided by Jamison Download Here
Odin zip with All Versions provided by Jamison Download Here
Thank you Jamison and thank you to the one who said to wipe data/format, that was the right answer!!!
You are supposed to do it before you flash using Odin, DOH! :silly:
How long did the first boot take because ive done wipe data and stuff before and after and still stuck on logo screen
Booting can take up to 15 minutes after wiping data and cache.
If the phone still won't boot to the ROM, flash a stock ROM via Odin and perform a factory wipe using stock recovery before booting the ROM for the firs time.

If you flash using odin then no your internal storage won't be affected, however to get it to boot up you might need to do a wipe data/factory reset from recovery (doesn't delete the photos/files on internal memory card) otherwise it will just bootloop. Are you able to see anything on the screen at all?

hi team xda developers. i am stuck in a loop with my note 2 N7100.
I did root successfully to install dn4 rom. then i tried installing dn4 rom with twrp 2.3, which was latest updated. but not successfull. it gave error status 7. then read on some forum that new version is needed, so I flashed twrp 2.7. This time the installation of rom went successfull. But after successfull installation when i click reboot, it boots and open twrp again. tried going back to 2.3, tried cwm. but Now it is booting only in recovery mode and I cannot go any further. Please help
I have also tried clearing cache after successfull rom installation

Right okay, well in that case I don't think you'd need to do a wipe, just try flashing it like that and see what happens.

You can use download mode and flash a stock rom and then try doing this whole procedure again. I believe you need to be on 4.3+ bootloader in order for it to work properly. Did you do a wipe data/factory reset before flashing the rom or not?
not done
Hi. Thanks for reply.
I flashed stock rom 4.4 from Samsung website. Then tried the whole thing again. It boots this time then displays new animated logo like note4. Plays the sound and then does not not further. I am now stuck on stock 4.4 rom

Help...semibrick or not?

Hi,
All was good in the SM-T705 world rocking 5.0.2 Rooted Stock.
But one day, decided to take the plonge and update to the 5.1.1 Unnoficial CM12.1 to try things out.
Well, all was good, but kinda lost the 4G connectivity (even after flashing the radio file provided on the thread)
So i decided to try again something, and start from Stock again.
Got myself the latest 5.0.2 image from kies and "odin it away".
Everything ok with the flash, but the device remains on the boot screen ....meaning bootloop.
Never seen a bootloop on a stock flash.
When bootlooping, i can only access download mode/recovery. Nothing else works.
Any hints?
Thanks guys.
Bootloader maybe?

Any hint how to fix this?
Idk ask a prof
Maybe flash the whole frimware via odin again
I advice you to download a stock firmware (or at least a TW based one) from here in the forum, instead of Kies.
You can try also first with a manual EXT4 reformat of System, Data and Cache though Recovery. Do NOT touch other partitions.
Then reinstall with Odin, NO tick on repartition.
It must work
Thank you guys for all your replies.
Thing is, i cant seem to be able to flash twrp. I do it through Odin and goea fine, but when it reboots it is overriding to the stock recovery again (since it can't complete the stock flash boot process)
That would be the desired scenario, since I even have a twrp backup that I'm wishing to restore.
Any other ideas?
You need to boot to twrp immediately after flashing or recovery will be overwritten with stock.
Second, once in recovery wipe data and you should be good to go.
