[Q] Black screen, no boot, help ! - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
3 days ago I did root my Z1 compact, everything was ok, I did backup TA etc.
I didn't unlock bootloader, just root by downgrading kernel and then restoring last.
Phone worked for 3 days, without any problems and then turned off while browsing web.
It seems like batery is drained but it's not. I tried charging it but doesn't help.
When connected to pc, pressing power on and vol -, newest flashtool shows:
08/021/2015 00:21:54 - INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
08/021/2015 00:21:54 - INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode

Any chance of unbrick ?

Just flash stock rom in flashtool. I think if this work.

It's was not detected propertly in flashtool and doesn't boot.
RESOLVED PROBLEM:
After 2 days of fail unbricking phone (via flashtool, pc companion and all other stuff) I decided to send phone on warranty, while I been packaging everythin I did push power button and phone start like it should. After boot battery was 56%.
Anyone can explain me what happend ?
I had feeling like rooting and mods caused data corruption and broke bootloader. I was wrong !
Maybe downgrading kernel to older version caused some battery calibration problems ?
I been charging phone for 15 hours and no success.

hEllo I got same problem but with different way , i hope somebody can help me, this is very bad for me, screen off and i cant go to recovery, can someone please tell me how to flash from flashtool without get error, because i see that with flashtool you can only flash if debug is active, and i cannot active !! because no screen ....help please

I've got the exact same problem.
Rooted 2 days ago.
While at work my battery went empty, so i charged it for about 2 hours when i got home. Red charge LED was on while charging. When pressing powerbutton nothing happened at all. Pulled it from the charger, pressed powerbutton agian and got no reaction what so ever. Pressed red "off" button and got 3 vibrations, then nothing. Now the charge LED doesent light up when plugged to wall charger. Cant enter fastboot og flashmode.
Very open to suggestions at this moment.

Press Vol+ and Powerbutton for a few seconds (it is like taking the battery out of the device). The phone should vibrate three times.
Then try to restart it.

Tried all different button combos, then let it sit in the charger while i booted up my good old Samsung S1. After a total time of 4 hours plugged in the Z1c suddenly gave life and bootet indicated 1% battery and charging. Very strange considering the red LED was indicating a charge the two hours before it went in to "coma".
Sometimes it seems like these devices have moods and feelings, haha.
Bottom line: My device is now working and charging. Backing everything up now so i dont have to panic if it should occur again.

When i connect to computer via USB, i can get into Flashmode after 20-30 minutes of holding ''back'', but SEUS won't recognize the phone and Flashtool always aborts:

[Q] Xperia S bricked? not charging

I flashed a new ROM (Nova unofficial CM10) and let the battery drain till it went off, normally it starts charging again when I plug it in the wall charger, but this time nothing it seems :crying: the red led is on, but the battery doesn't get warm and it doesn't turn on normally. Sometimes it randomly boots till the unlock screen shows up from the ROM, but the screen isn't responding and then it turns of again. I tried to do something in the recovery, but since there are no other ROM files on the Phone I can't try any other kernel or ROM. USB storage doesn't seem to be working in this recovery... or it might be my windows 8.
Should I wait a few "hours"?? The red led is still on... so it's doing something right?
/help

Ok here is the solution It happend to me also ok dont worry just update ur phone using Sony official ics update called SUS and dont worry about that ur devise is not charging and neither connecting to pc just connet via USB follow the instruction from SUS. Its not the matter that ur USB is not working and it shows sometime connection and dis connecton and if even now it show nothing just remove ur battery for five min if ur phone has removable battery system

the bootloader is unlocked... pretty sure SUS won't be working, but I will try. And I don't have a removable battery system but I can forcefully shut it down.
edit:
it keeps showing up the red led, flashmode and fastboot don't work.
Ok then u have the only way just connect it via USB and update SUS its the only way for u. It wil download 40mb then install the soft it says to connect ur divise and it wil donload 225mb firmware tft after that it wil update ur devise

it will not connect to USB, it's too empty for that... it's either recovery or nothing at all. But USB storage isn't working.

it seems I fixed it! it took me a damn while, but it seems to be charging now.
what I did:
1: Download Advanced Stock Kernel 17 (fastboot version)
2: wait for it to turn off
3: charge Phone till it boots again
4: hold power + vol up till it vibrates 3 times
5: get the Phone in fastboot mode (plug-in the Phone and hold vol up)
6: fastboot the kernel
7: reboot and hook-up the charger and it should charge again :victory: (without booting)
my battery indicator is now yellow!! and the on-screen battery shows yellow as well.
ps: try using a normal charger and not the sony wall charger... it seems to be working better when the OS is not booted.

Okay I got it solved too!
Mine is as follow:
- Let it charge till the screen boots up.
- Power + volume up for 1 vibration, and then hold volume up for fastboot mode.
- Flash adv kernel 17 and then connect to charger. Let it charge for 30 mins.
- Reflash Nova kernel
Everything works perfectly after that
I think Nova kernel does not support offline charging @[email protected]

Would you mind reporting your steps and kernel problems in the recovery thread in my signature. You could help others who get similar issues.

Even I have the same problem,so you guys just flashed the Advanced kernel without touching the ROM right ??
Because its a ICS kernel and i'm running PA 2.57 which is based on CM10,I'm gonna try this out
EDIT :
This is what i did,my phone wouldn't reset(Soft or Hard reset) but i was able to get into recovery and would get around a minute when the phone powered on showing "Charging 0%"
1. Copied the CWM version of Advanced Kernel 17
2. Booted the phone in TWRP(Nova Kernel has TWRP instead of CWM)
3. Flashed the Advanced Kernel,Rebooted
4. I was now able to charge offline as well as the phone would reset(Hard and Soft both)
5. After 15mins booted in recovery and flashed Nova Kernel back
6. Rebooted into ROM and voila showed 40% charge

You can always flash a kernel, but it will probably reboot right away. TWRP didn't seem to work with windows 8... CWM does work fine, but then again I had TWRP so I wasn't able to copy the file to the Phone and flash it using the recovery. Recovery did work though but it didn't have enough juice to perform a sideload, so fastboot was the only option for me.
But it seems you figured everything out already :good:

Why go all the way round and get back to stock when flashing a different kernel does the trick for you
Tbh,flashing takes lots of time especially when you are hoping around different ROM's i didn't have that kinda patience so went with the shorter way to getting the phone up and running

I had the exact same issue with Nova Kernal.
As I was usng PAC ROM I flashed the FXP kernal that came with PAC ROM and it started charging again.
So I Think the issue is with Nova Kernal..
So basically I have the same issue. The battery of the phone was nearly empty and I decided to recharge it. Unfortunately it didn't charge.
What was the cause: I upgraded to 6.1.a.2.55 stock rom and I wanted to root it. It worked well and I could reinstall all the apps.
The current situation is: The battery is empty now but when I connect it to my computer's USB port it comes up every now and then I can get into the phone, I can access flashboot and also I'm able to get into fastboot. So I tried it with the solution given above but it is not working. I tried to flash the old 6.1.a.2.50 but the flashtool will not install it. Here is the log file:

can u press power+vol up and hold both of em till the phone vibrates three times? if yes.. open flashtool. select flashmode, pick your ftf, and when the flashtool told you to plug the device, plug it while holding volume down.. if it's recognized by the pc, it will show green led, and it will stay green after the flashtool finished flashing. if it's only show green then back to red, u need to install flashmode driver first.
if the phone cant vibrate three times, u need to charging your device first. some say in just couple minutes, some even says a whole day.
hope it'll help.
try to flash the advanced stock kernel (v17) using fastboot. No matter the software on the phone, it should go straight to offline charging.

[Q] Xperia Ion bricked , only constant red light and sometimes sony logo :(

Hey Guys ,
am new in the forum but i am so confused for 2 weeks ago as my xperia ION was bricked after installing a wrong rom
- no response from Power button or Power Button plus Vol+/Vol- buttons
-when connected to wall charger only red constant led ( no changes )
-i left the phone for couple days and after connecting to wall charged , a red led again and then sony logo appeared for couple of mins then constant red led again
i have tried all troubleshooting in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170
-note : one of my attempts of rubber band trick , a green light appeared but flash was unsuccessful coz device has been disconnected although i kept the phone connected
-i left the battery drained for more than 24 hrs
-charged the battery for more than 24 hrs again
-tried to flash *.tft rom many times with rubber band trick and wizout it ,,, but still red led consant
-i decided to try to disconnect the ribbon cable from motherboard .. and i did for 3 mins and then connected again , that suppose the mobile was reset and it is ready to be flashed , but after connecting to USB and holding vol down , still nothing , only red led
- now i am trying connect and disconnect ribbon cable , flashing once i connect it to motherboard and sometimes trying to charge again
-tried SONY pc companion and choose repair my phone and have downloaded all drivers even on PC Companion and Flashtool
-6 days of trying and nothing till now read all threads about xperia bricking and all steps done
Am really so frustrated and dont know what to do , is it dead ?
i ask for ur help to solve this problem and i hope i will find any solution !
At first I have no idea if this works, but switch of your phone. Then press the volume up button at the same time as you connect It to the pc. Then the blue light should appear. Then open a terminal and wipe your complete phone. Then download the original version from Android (I mean the one you saw as you got it for the first time) and the try to install this one.
I use Ubuntu. I really hope this helps you. But I am not sure if it will work. For more damage I am not responsible
Good luck

acro s hard bricked

i got my acro s hard bricked
I used twrp for making a backup for the the stock firmware.
and then i installed the 5.0.1 the lollipop custom firmware
the link :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2799765
, but it was not rooted but somehow the recovery was working good .. i decided to restore the stock using the backup version which i made in the beginning coz the ROM was sucks. after finishing the loading it asked for restart and after that i got a blank screen and the following
-no response for charging
-no LED lights at all
-non of any combinations working (volume+ and power on , hard reset or volume+up+power on)
-access to fastboot or flashtool is denied
-no power on no vibrations
but after a day of charging an Orange LED appears but i waited for two more days till the LED disappeared
and tried the flashtool but all i got is "device connected but with debugging off"
i think the problem was using recovery with unrooted device but can't find a solution for that
any suggestions ??!!
Notes:
am too calm
am not panic ..
am not in hurry too
and it's not a big deal
i just want the device back in order to get my stuff from it that's why going to Sony service center is not an option coz they format the whole device
Similar here on st26i
On 4.4 Paranoidandroid I've got after a five days of use in one second a lot of force closes. From every app from the system. It was impossible to stop it, or make normal reboot, so I've hold Power + VolUp and waited till three vibrations. Then turn on the phone, normal vibration and SONY logo.
After that black screen. First with some backlight, after minutes phone backlight turn off.
Now:
- No response for Power button
- No response for Power+VolUp combination
- No charging LED
- System find only SEMC Flash Device
- Flashtool says Device Connected with USB Debugging off
- Combination Power+VolUp make connected device to disconnect and connect again as SEMC Flash Device
- Cant acces fastboot, dwonload mode.

Is there any windows/linux software for SONY devices like KDZ for LG phones? Which have an emergency flash option and, etc.???
/EDIT
So... I have read a little and I think (wchich I supposed before witout reading) boot is "dead".
I think it will be possibly to flash new boot with s1boot, but. I cannot find service manual for lt26i. Can anyone have it? Or can say where is the Test Point in this device?

Z1C Overheating - unable to boot / charge

Hi guys,
I have been "gifted" by broken Xperia Z1C and I'm trying to fix it.
The issue is that when I try to power on, it's trying to boot, but it will turn off during blue animation, not sure if it's boot logo. However, when I try to charge the phone, it will show
"Your device turned off due to overheating. Charging will continue after the device has cooled down." and as you supposed, it will never happened.
I have tried:
- hard reset by volup + power button
- reset with red button near sim card
- xperia companion repair - result: successfully repaired, but nothing happend to device
- flashing older firmware D5503_14.5.A.0.270_Generic BAL.ftf using Flashtool - successfully but nothing happened
- some magic commands with fastboot.exe, nothing happened
Then I have tried to change battery from another Z1C, device is not responding on power on button (just 3 times red led blinks after charger connected) . Then I have put back the original battery to broken device, same overheating issue.
Now I think it's hardware issue, or do you have any ideas? Why another battery don't works?
Thanks
