Ubuntu Phone is coming soon :) - LG Optimus G (International)

For now it doesn't recognize my sim and there is no sound. When i fix that issues i will release first public build. It is based on orginal ubuntu sources for mako.

Yessss! I remember I suggested @Kevinjoa in his CM12 thread to do this. Veery nice job mate. This is really what we've been missing for a long time
BTW, the video doesn't show up for me. Will you please add some screen shots too? I'm excited ^_^

sorry bro. i have no skills but thx
i know it only because i flashed 4.2 nexus4 roms on my G (4.3 and higher arent booting.) and there was all these problems (sound, signal, nfc, cam works but only front...) and 4 years of android
theres the question: which mako base is it (android 4.x??) so he must use g kernel/edit nx4 sources but on that point, kevin can help!!
mordesku is good, he will know it and work on it when he has time

It is 4.4.2 base.

Nooooooooo, the perils cutting edge rom development strikes again. I really hope LG service will fix your LGOG or provide you a new one. Fingers crossed. From a selfish point of view, the LGOG community needs valuable devs such as you. You will be missed if the unspeakable occurs.

[Q] What is the difference with battery drain in live wallpapers and static.

Did anyone test what is the difference in battery life? Is it worth to use?

Live wallpapers are animated and whereas static are... well static.
Live wallpapers will look fancy but drain the battery quicker.

He was asking about the battery drain between static an live wallpaper, as live wallpaper drains more battery than a static wallpaper as it have to be animated all time.

[XS] No more official MIUI for LT26i from now on.

Not good news guys
Here's the link: http://www.miui.com/thread-1242837-1-1.html
As we know, since MIUI 4.0, the MIUI devs found some brick issues on LT26i (XPERIA S), so they paused the official support for XS.
And they said they'll look into it after XS got 4.1 upgrade, to see if MIUI 5.0 is suitable for XS.
But now they announce that there are still issues on LT26i, so they officially stopped the developement for XS, and we will never get any official support from MIUI devs ever again.
So that's it. One less rom to work with...:crying: quite sad because MIUI is really a special rom for XS (in my opinion).
Let's move on and try other great roms instead.
P.S. Of course you can still always try the MIUI which is built on CM10 on the forum. But it is not official.
That's ok, I'm convinced someone will port it and for me, it doesn't matter WHO's the ROM chef.

There might be still issues on unofficial ones. For example, the MIUI based on CM10 gets poor camera.

That would be really cool. Just wondering, why if other devs could transport MIUI to XS, the official devs couldn't...?

Faster ROM?

Hey guys,
I was wondering if some of you had a chance to play with a few ROMs. I know we don't have a lot of ROMs to choose from right now but which one in your opinion is faster? I just installed CleanRom and it seems to working pretty good but how does it compare to StockyRom and MegaBlast ones? MegaBlast looks really quick in the video by qbm (bindroid). I dont know much about StockyRom. What are your thoughts?
This kind of thread is not very popular on xda... You should give every Rom a try if you want to and decide for yourself which one gives you the best performance

They're actually pretty much in the same league with the differences that you can't barely even notice. I suggest you try both and see them yourself.
If I may recommend you to use carbon ROM for its super fast ROM or AOSP for its stability. All IMHO of course..

I like stability, you know...
