What is a Fastboot Cable
Factory Cable, Fastboot Cable, and Motorola Programing Cable are all the same thing.
The usb cable that came with the device , is just a stock usb data cable.
With a fastboot cable, Power (+) from pin 1, is moved to the normally unused pin 4.
Many Motorola Devices are hardwired to bypass the battery, and power the device directly from pin 4.
"So you flashed your phone and now it thinks the battery is dead (even though it's not) and it won't let you flash it again to fix it? Or, your battery really is dead and you don't have a way to charge it because your phone is soft-bricked and won't charge the battery. What do you do? With this cable you don't even need a battery in your phone." - By Team Black Hat

4) Use newest Firmware
5) Use RSDLite 6.1.6 (newer maybe better) with the following settings:
Flash options: Restart after flexing and TI Blank flash
Use image files and delete files on exit
if flash still fails, Try one of the other flashing options like
House of Moto or Mfastboot.
Editing XML file, after flashing has failed.
be sure that you have the correct firmware for the Device,
the following changes can brick the device, if firmware is incompatible
try
unzip it firmware
open file VZW_xxxxxxxxxxxx.xml with a notepad (notepad++)

Fixing MTP drivers
This may not work, if it did for you, please let me know.
1st Option:
Update Windows Media Player
wicpp said:
I am having Windows XP SP3 and I was experiencing the same USB MTP installation failure, I updated my Windows Media Player and it fixed the problem. The option in Windows Media Player Help->Check for updates was not working, so I downloaded Media Player from Microsoft webiste and installed it and after that driver is now working fine.

Using Hash Checksums
[How to] Verify that your download is complete with MD5/SHA-1 Hash Checksums
many devs post md5 checksum with rom link, use it
if both MD5 and SHA-1 are posted you need only verify one
if it was not posted, download again until you get same md5 twice
video by @Tomsgt
https://youtu.be/P-tNyul-iOQ
use one of these
MD5 Checker (simpler) Windows
MD5 & SHA-1 Checksum Utility Window
MD5 Checker (android App)
Why should you verify your download?
The file that you downloaded, may not have downloaded completely, even if you have very good internet, the file packets pass through several servers, 5-20 maybe even more.
Most files for most people will download complete, but unless you compare checksums you just don't know.
What is a MD5 checksum?
"MD5 Codes: MD5 stands for Message Digest version 5. The MD5 algorithm takes a file (the “message”) of any size, and reduces it down to a code that looks like this: “ac30ce5b07b0018d65203fbc680968f5″ (the “digest”). The brilliant thing about the MD5 algorithm is that if the message changes by so much as a single byte, it will produce a completely different digest. Think of MD5s as fingerprints for files.
The MD5 algorithm has many uses. Foremost is the ability to validate that when a data file is transmitted from point A to point B, it arrives intact, without distortion. This is done by calculating the MD5 string that corresponds to the original file (at point A), calculating the MD5 again using the copy of the file (at point B), and then comparing the two MD5 strings."
Some Other Checksum versions are SHA-1, SHA-256, and SHA-512
Sites like https://mega.co.nz have end to end encryption, so verifing checksums should not be necessary.

MD5 Checker
Download
md5.exe Mega (Preferred) - XDA - Dev-Host - CNET [TOOL] MD5 Checker (create/compare checksum)
Directions
Open md5 checker
Copy checksum from source, usually the files downloaded page. (ex. 4ee3969a9f09117f661742470aaba379)
Paste md5 for file
Browse for file you are checking (ex. cm-10-20130113-UNOFFICIAL-daytona.zip)
If codes match you are good, if no match re-download file

If anyone has issues with DL speeds please consider purchasing a one month Filefactory premium account by following my referral link here: http://www.filefactory.com/refer/m-NRHYUov-Vxks1QQ0d75g~~
It helps YOU and it helps ME keep all firmware on one server with unlimited bandwidth allocation.
I personally have 327Mbps(40MB/s) DL sppeds from my ISP but I have found Filefactory maxes out around 115Mbps(14MB/s) DL speeds.
Just something to consider when measuring the value of our beloved devices.

I've installed the 64 bit version of this and get a KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE (blue screen) when trying to uninstall. I've tried repairing and reinstalling without any luck. Could you help me understand the registry mods and files associated with this so I can manually remove it?
Thanks!

I may not be much help, I'm still using win 7, and Motorola Device Manager seems to uninstalls fine from win 7.

Added: Fastboot Cable and Motorola Low Battery Options

You might want to include a link to RSD Lite 6.2.4. I recently needed to flash my Moto G LTE (XT1045) and it wouldn't show up in 6.1.6, but it did in 6.2.4. There are links floating around XDA or elsewhere.

Enjoy
awsome now we can flash back to eu when/if needed
H-6.1-38-4 is that 3.1?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Link added, and no 3.1. But you can always upgrade on the official way using these images, assumed 3.1 is available via OTA yet. The main purpose of these images is helping people with semi bricks and/or those who have flashed firmwares from other regions.

3.1 would be 6.3-XX and I doubt they will ever be made available there. The sole purpose of these images is to recover XOOMs, not to distribute updates.

How would you know if oyu where semi bricked with no way back? I ask cause I think I may be semi bricked. I'm stuck in the boot loop, and, I'm stuck in the 'starting fastboot protocol....' after trying rebooting with adb fastbootloader.
What would be the command to use these with adb?
Thanks.
You need to use fastboot to flash these images. If you've installed the android sdk then the fastboot tool should have been included with it (It's a command line tool)
Once you've located fastboot (it's in TOOLS inside the android sdk directory.) Follow the instructions posted on the site
The commands to flash and re-lock your device are as follows:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem lock
If I can still boot into CWR, does that mean I may still be semi bricked? I managed to flash BRD's boot and tiamat off his thread, and it worked well, until reboot. I'm still stuck in this boot loop, and it's making me loopy!
This whole thing happened because I stuffed with the build.prop file in the system folder and downloaded market enabler.
Can you relock a wifi only xoom?
It's about bloody time! Thanks for the update!
maybe a stupid question.
i got my xoom from amazon with the t-mobile rom (altough there is no visual branding). does the xoom have something like CID or CSC or would "unbranding" just be that simple than flashing the stock eu image?
If you check my sticky, link is in signature I have already put all these up without logins.

**** thaaaat, where is 3.1 ?
I can't seem to connect to the PC now, go figure. I want to try and just restore to factory, is this possible without my PC recognising my Xoom via USB now? Is there a way to flash the official Moto images if I can't connect my usb to my PC? I can force a reboot via adb, but that's it.
Is there any possibility to have the SBFs?

Android version: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_(operating_system)
Sony officially launched this phone with android version 4.1.2 (aka Jelly Bean).
Baseband version: [linked to firmware version]
(Crudely) this is a software interface which communicates with radio -> gsm/wcdma (2g/3g)/LTE, basically acts as a base for the main OS to ‘talk-to’ the hardware on the phone [I know this explanation isn’t precise even partly incorrect.. if someone can help me out I will update it]
This is similar to the "radio" image of the HTC devices.
Build number: [aka firmware version]
This is dependent on which firmware u flash on ur phone and is linked to the baseband version.
Btw some devs use this field to add their own ‘signature’ to the ROM so if u are using custom ROMs this field might be varying. Though the Baseband version for a particular firmware remains same.
what is firmware?
The firmware is a package containing all the official software for a particular build. It will contain system, kernel & baseband files. Generally the firmware is supplied (on forums) in form of FTF package (a container file ending with .ftf) which can be flashed via FlashTool.
what are the ways to update/repair firmware?
SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service) / PCC (PC Companion) / EMMA are all official ways to update to new or repair existing firmware on your device. SEUS/PCC are available to all users (consumers), EMMA is special and is only available to select individuals. This requires you to connect device to PC and then the software will check for updates and download them over the internet.
Updates can also be sent as FOTA (Firmware over-the-air)/OTA (over-the-air) updates where in you can download and install the updates without the need to connect to PC/any software.
FlashTool is an unofficial user-created tool, but the best way to flash official firmwares. Generally the firmware is supplied in form of FTF package (a container file ending with .ftf) which can be flashed via FlashTool. Thus FlashTool is the easiest way to do offline updates, just download the FTF file, it keep on PC and flash ur device when ever you want to.
FlashTool
Flashtool is one of the MOST IMPORTANT piece of software for ur phone, it is an unofficial, but the best way to flash official firmwares on both locked and unlocked bootloader devices. Generally the firmware is supplied in form of FTF package (a container file ending with .ftf) which can be flashed via FlashTool. Thus FlashTool is the easiest way to do offline updates, just download the FTF and keep on PC and flash ur device when ever you want to. One can also flash select partitions using FlashTool, say you want to flash baseband(radio) from newer/older firmware but want to keep the main system the same u can do that using newest FlashTool! FlashTool also supports fastboot modes! so if you are not very comfortable with command line then u can use the FastBoot Toolbox inbuilt into FlashTool to fastboot the kernels!
FlashTool can be used to flash both locked and unlocked bootloaders devices.
For all flashtool informations (download links, release notes, FAQ) go to the Flashtool Homepage

if you are not familiar with custom Android recoveries i suggest that u read this:

FOR LOCKED BOOTLOADERS:
The recovery for locked bootloaders becomes a part of the ROM...

FOR UNLOCKED BOOTLOADERS:
Currently Recovery available for this device comes as a part of kernel (stock or custom kernel)
Recoveries on stock kernel:
[Recovery] CWM (UNLOCKED Bootloaders)
kindly post queries related to specific recovery at the corresponding thead
Flashing Custom Kernel
CUSTOM KERNELS ARE SPECIFIC TO ROMs...
you cant use stock kernel on CM ROM and you cant use CM kernel on stock ROM....
CUSTOM KERNELS CAN BE FLASHED ONLY ON DEVICES WITH UNLOCKED BOOTLOADERS
there are two ways to flash custom kernel
first download the kernel file... if it is a boot.img then use Method 1 (fastboot mode) or if its a update.zip file then use Method 2 (recovery)
Method 1 - fastboot mode
if you get kernel in boot.img format then do the following
reboot device into fastboot mode
then flash the kernel using following command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
then reboot from fastboot
Code:
fastboot reboot
thats it now device should start booting that kernel
Method 2 - recovery
if you already have recovery working on your device then do the following
save the update.zip on SDCARD
reboot into recovery
flash the update.zip which contains the kernel
reboot into system
thats it now device should start booting that kernel
Flashing Custom ROMs
if u get custom ROM in update.zip format then do the following:
first download the ROM file and save it on SDCARD
reboot into recovery
flash the update.zip which contains the ROM
reboot into system
thats it now device should start booting that ROM
Most custom ROMs are provided as update.zip. Its a technical term, basically its a special signed ZIP file which can be flashed via custom recovery.
Download the ZIP file and save it on ur PC
now connect ur device and save the ROMs ZIP file on the SDCARD
disconnect the device (after copying is over)
reboot into recovery
go to install ZIP from sdcard menu and navigate to the folder where you saved the ZIP file
now select it
recovery will start flashing the ROM
after flashing is over just reboot device and you will be on the custom ROM
Tips:
some CUSTOM roms require specific kernels (like CM9) in that case FIRST flash the corresponding kernel and then follow the instuctions posted above
sometimes the ROM requires cleaning /data & /cache partitions. you can wipe these before flashing the ROM! [WARNING YOU WILL LOSE UR DATA BY DOING THIS!]

Hey Doomlord!
Thank you for that awesome guide!
I'm coming from LG O2x, on that device kernel often is included in ROMs, if you want to flash another one it can easily be flashed via cwm.
Why isn't kernel included in sony-roms?
Wish this guide was written when I got my ZL; would have made life MUCH easier
Can you put up a guide about how to get fastboot and adb working? Pretty please!!
I tried installing Android SDK, Flastools etc, but still my computer shows Fastboot as an unrecognized device when I connect my ZL to it in fastboot mode
@doomlord..would u make custom kernel for zl in future?

Yes Sony ROMS include kernels... But the problem is that Sony devices dont have a separate partition for recovery...

@ Mods... I see that this thread has a lot of useful info regarding the ZL. So, please make this thread a sticky as requested by OP. Thanks!
@ Doomlord.. Thanks for the detailed guides.
I'm a little n00bish but (offcourse) I understand the first posts... But how can I root it?
I can root the ZL without unlocking the bootloader if I'm right? At the first weeks I don't want to use custom roms.
I want to use the tweaks on the Xperia Z, like the black notificationbars or the changing of the dpi of the buttons...
Will that work with the same provided files on the ZL? I prefer the ZL, and I want to use those tweaks but I don't know for sure if it's gonna work?
does ZL ship with stock android browser? I want to use flash.

No it does not. There's an APK in the apps & themes forum, but it doesn't work until the kernel source is out.
Thanks DooMLoRD!
Happy to say im bootloader unlocked and rooted!!
This thread made everything a piece of cake!!
Thanks a TON!
I won this phone a couple weeks ago and it just got delivered today.
Im looking forward to a good future with this nice piece of tech!
Thanks again!

Baseband Device manages all the functions which require an antenna. The baseband processor has its own RAM and firmware in NOR flash, separate from the main CPU core resources. The baseband is a resource to the OS. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are managed by the main CPU, although the baseband stores their MAC addresses in its NVRAM. This firmware is called baseband version. It is basically a separate RTOS (Real Time Operating System). Xperia Z1 uses qualcomm processor hence it uses OS called A.M.S.S. and the kernel is called REX
The system is made of 69 concurrent tasks
Contains Tasks for
1) Hardware management (USB, USIM, DSPs, GPS. . . )
2) Protocol stacks at each layer (GSM L1, L2, RR, MM. . . )
Initiation Algorithm
Rex Core Tasks
SLEEP: Idle task.
DPC: Routes APCs across tasks.
MAIN: Launches all system tasks, then handles timer events.
DOG: Watchdog. Constantly checks that tasks are alive.
DS: Data Services task. Unied data gathering task for all protocol layers.
CM: Call Manager task.
PS: Packet-switched Services. Network stacks at upper layers (TCP/IP, PPP. . . )
DIAG: Provides the diagnostic interface

yes i am bit slow as i have my MBA studies going on and 4 other devices (check sig) in active development, each having a bunch of threads and working on rooting toolkits, recoveries, kernels and now starting off with ROM related work takes a good amount of my time...
unfortunately i do not have an extensive technical knowledge to understand the complete diagram posted by him..
Root guides will keep changing if the exploit gets patched, trust me i know that... i have been creating rooting guides/building my own rooting toolkits and working on own exploits for quite some time now, right from the Xperia X10 days (2011)...
anyways updating link to that guide...
Please no hate on this thread or any other, this thread's sole purpose is to help. No rooting method is permanent, atleast on Xperia. And Doomlord? Guys you should know him first, he's been sharing his knowledge extensively. Let's just focus on development shall we?
Thanks for this.
I have never ever owned a Xperia device. Will be getting the monster Z1 this week...so excited...

Hi guys, I am tired of seeing a lot of the same threads in the P6 forum, so here I bring a All-in-one index thread!
This thread serves as:
[ Post 1 ] An Index thread for all the ROMS / Recoveries / Kernels / Mods ( On XDA )
[ Post 2 ] A thread for everything that doesn't come from XDA ( Like posts on Club Huawei )
[ Post 3 ] Look who's popular!
If you want your work / findings featured here, post it in this thread and mention me. ( @PulseDroid )
By posting something here, I DO NOT say I have tested it and it works, I am just sharing information I / Others found for the P6.
Note:- Some of the content in this thread has been translated via Google, thus it might not make sense.
Thanks!

NEWS
Huawei Ascend P6 gets Android 4.4 KitKat in January:
Huawei Ascend P6 was announced and released in June with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean in charge of operations. Due to its incredibly slim profile and older generation quad-core processor, it was plagued with over-heating issues. We are not sure if those were resolved by Huawei, but if not, now is a good time for the company to make some optimizations and improvements.
The Huawei Ascend P6 was just officially confirmed to get the Android 4.4 KitKat treatment. The Chinese have taken it to Baidu to announce that the super slim smartphone will be getting the latest major Android release in January. Alongside it will come the new version of the company's proprietary Emotion UI.
Huawei is among the first to announce its KitKat upgrade plans, but is surely not the only one to skip Android 4.3 and move straight to the new KitKat version.
Android 4.4 KitKat was announced on the last day of October. It brings Project Svelte UI optimizations, bigger UI icons, removes the widgets from the app drawer, new Hangouts SMS/MMS/Gtalks unified hub, new Email app, new Phone app with nearby search and more. It even lowers the hardware requirements for the Android OS.
And the Ascend P6 owners will be able to enjoy all of these new features in just two months.

Huawei Emotion UI 2.0 - Beta apps leaked - Dec 31st HuaweiNews
Pictures of P6 hardware disassembled:
P6 hidden surprise to be unveiled on December 16:
There is one post on weibo by an senior individual of Huawei, about some hidden surprise for P6. This hidden stuff would be revealed on December 16 (during which event they would also unveil the new Honor phones, and the brand "Honor" supposedly going to be developed as independent brand from the Huawei phones)
"You know, you do not know, and you will soon know, are hidden in this box. What do you think come to you? @ Yu Chengdong"
While Others say: You get that different colored border as well as accessories "Bluetooth headsets, mobile power, leather protective sleeve, dedicated headphone cable, refined become a "box"".

Leaked internal document confirms Huawei P7 specs:
According to a leaked internal document sent to us by an anonymous tipster, Huawei is working on an Ascend P7 smartphone that's currently going under the codename "Sophia".
The Huawei Ascend P7 is going to be a major update over the Ascend P6 and will feature a 1080p 5.0" TFT LCD display. Under the hood of the phone, Huawei is betting on the HiSilicon Balong 910 chipset with a quad-core 1.6GHz CPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Happily, it's expandable thanks to the microSD card slot.
As you can see the document states that the phone will be made of "exquisite materials" and as our tipster points out, the phone looks very similar to its predecessor. We won't be surprised if Huawei bets on metal for the chassis once again. Another unique selling point of the Ascend P7 would be the ability to take the "best selfie videos" as Huawei puts it.
The company aims to achieve this thanks to the front-facing 8MP camera. At the back, there's going to be a 13MP auto-focus snapper with LED flash. The smartphone will be powered by a 2460mAh battery. The Huawei Ascend P7 will be LTE-enabled with support for Cat 4 at the 800/1800/2100/2600 bands.
The phone runs an unspecified version of Android garnished with the company's own EmotionUI 2.0, which isn't that surprising.
If the document is to be trusted, Huawei plans to release the Ascend in April next year. Pricing is yet to be detailed.

That's going to be a really big job!
I've got an idea: PM me links to all the thread you guys think need to be moved ( and to where ) and deleted and I will pass it on to a mod.
In my opinion, they should do it like they did in the Razr i Forum > Only one Development Section instead of Original / Android Development. There isn't that much Development on the P6, so why split it? User get confused and Devs have to carefully choose, where they have to post their Work.

I disagree - We now have an unlocked bootloader, we are working on CM, once we get that, PAC, PA and all the others will easily come. They all go in original ( Since they are source compiled )
Then, less advanced users can kick in, making roms based on CM and so, those then go into Android Dev ( Since they are based on other Roms )
P6 hidden surprise was unveiled today. Its not really a full color change. You get a rose gold border change.
Its seem to be a December 16 exclusive offer see: http://www.vmall.com/product/804.html

You should add that there is a risk of bricking the device when updating to the B118 CN.
I wonder why it does that. Maybe downgrade to B111 first and then try B118. Can anyone confirm that the straight update from B122 beta to B118 CN causes this?
Also, theres a typo in the OP under the international stock roms. The latter B112 should be B122 Beta.

I know that I bricked mine after going from B122 to B118 CN, now I am afraid to try any CN firmware update. I just picked the new replaced device today.

Nope, I was on B122, and went to B118 CN with no hassles. - I'll add it to the OP, and fix typos.
Not just B118, even B117 has a chance of bricking, as users had bricked their device with B117 too. It could be a hit and miss and no reason found yet. What needs to seen is if anyone had bricked their device when moving from official version B111 (rather than leaked version) to B118. If no one bricked their device that way, then it could be a safer way.
---------- Post added at 08:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:13 PM ----------
There needs to be a tutorial section too for questions like how to install stock firmware, how to install themes, how to optimize battery, etc as these questions keep coming up all the time.

Hi!
Yes you are right, but I think you can make a nice thread for all including your request ! Why do not you try ? There are many users who just have bought the device, and do not know how to start !
I'm busy, I have not time for this, but I'd like to see ....
Good luck !
@warea
Yes the rest also has bricking potential but it seems to me like 118 is an attraction since it has a unlocked bootloader.. For the rest they wouldn't install CN anyway.
I will be adding tutorials soon!

[CFW][KK4.4] GomdoLight KitKat Custom Firmware Environment (System Enhancement Pack)

Hi all,
Today, I proudly present GomdoLight KitKat for KOREAN LG G / G2 / G3 / G3A / G3cat6 / Gflex / GK / Gpro / Gpro2 / LTE3 / Vu2 / Vu3 / Gpad7LTE, one of the most widely used (with 20,000+ users approximately) stock-based custom firmware in South Korea.
GomdoLight is more than 3 year old already (first version released on 19th December 2012), and is very mature.
Technically speaking GomdoLight is NOT a complete ROM, but rather a large-scale patch, which modifies official stock firmware to remove all the unnecessary components preloaded by operator/manufacturer, and reorganizes key system parts to 'basic' Android OS with manufacturer's flavor. For some devices GomdoLight's own specialized tool 'GomdoLight Sideloader' can make it possible to install GomdoLight directly over the stock firmware, even without rooting or flashing custom recovery!
GomdoLight is compatible with the following devices (BOLD indicates GomdoLight Sideloader support - no root required)
LG Optimus G: LG-F180S, LG-F180K, LG-F180L ("G")
LG G2: LG-F320S, LG-F320K, LG-F320L ("G2")
LG G3: LG-F400S, LG-F400K, LG-F400L ("G3")

A very thorough and extensive (probably, the most extensive on entire xda) manual is provided at the download page, which contains literally everything you need to know to install GomdoLight. FAILURE TO READ THIS DOCUMENT BEFORE INSTALLING WILL ALWAYS LEAD TO VARIOUS UNEXPECTED PROBLEMS. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. Needless to say, I WILL NOT ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS ALREADY ADDRESSED IN THIS DOCUMENT.
Due to xda forum's limits (in functionality) I am posting a link to the separate (external) DOWNLOAD PAGE. There is no way I can link to each section in the document in xda posts, since xda does not support HTML tag. However some portions of the document are also introduced here.

choose f180k. if status bar is proved compatible everything will be good.
gomdolight kitkat is more script-oriented, so not many apks are replaced from the stock firmware. so there is a quite high possibility that it will be compatible with many variants.
however, you may need to 'debloat' the stock firmware by yourself, since i do not know what bloatwares are preloaded in non-korean stock firmware.

@juniecho thanks for your contribution, i have F300K branding is Olleh, now it is in recovery mode i have downloaded 2 file f20l.kdz and f20f.kdz but all stop at 50% or 54% when flashing, does F300K need to be flashed by its own specific branding? do you have links to these F300K Olleh firmware? (to flash before going to Gomdolight)
i would like to try using this Gomdolight ROM

sorry for late reply. by f300k you mean vu3. in the manual http://gomdolight.com/?page_id=518 you can find the 'firmware compatibility table' at 4-2.1. when you look at the table you will find download links for 20F stock kdz, which is proven safe. f300k can be flashed via lg flash tool 2014 (without specific branding or utility, etc.), and since the kdz file i provide is not a CSE-type kdz, you can just flash it with 'normal flash' mode. (by contrast, CSE-type kdzs should be flashed with 'CSE flash' option, and if you choose 'CSE flash' mode it will force a factory reset upon flashing)
sumup: 1) download the kdz file from the firmware compatibility table in the manual, 2) flash it with 'lg flash tool 2014' with normal flash mode.
did that already but stops at 40 or 50% when flashing, downloading the kdz file with IDM is not a problem? but i think when preparing the kdz file if any error occur, the LG flashtool should have notice it right?

UPDATE - Wave 2, revision 9
UPDATE LEVEL: MAJOR / IMPORTANCE: CRITICAL
UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS:
Use the clear.root flag to unroot before upgrading if you're rooted (IMPORTANT)
You can always re-root using the enable.root flag (SEE http://gomdolight.flags.usage.gomdoli.us for details)
You do not need to revert to stock, but choose the 'FRESH INSTALLATION' option at the Installer's main menu even though you're actually upgrading. (You will go through the reconfiguration process)
CHANGELOG:
Greatly improved GomdoLight Engine scripts
Added support for a new flag: reboot.recovery - reboots into recovery environment (automatically into 2nd-init recovery if installed)
Added support for a new flag: auto.install.xposed.framework - automatically schedule installation of Xposed framework when the Xposed Installer app is installed but the Xposed Framework is not.
Improved stability and battery efficiency
Automatically restores GomdoLight Engine functionality when GomdoLight Engine can't be initialized
Removed IM+ from the Update Center
Added 'LG Tag+', and 'Privilege Terminal' to the Update Center
'Update Center' components updated
(G2, Gpro, Vu3, Gflex) Now the clock/date indicator shown when the status bar is expanded will NOT do anything if you click on it, instead of taking you to the Date/Time Settings screen.
(G2, Gpro2, G3, G3A, G3cat6, Gflex) Now you can choose between stock navbar thickness and reduced (by about 25%) navbar thickness
(Gpro2, G3, G3cat6, Gflex) Better DualWindow (SplitWindow) app support
(G3, G3A, G3cat6) Improved QuickRemote (Q Remote), now you can control some air conditioners and audio systems.

no, but it might be compatible with your device. To maximize the chance select 'Do not overwrite the status bar' when you're asked to select the Battery Percentage Indicator type.
Wanted to thank you for the hard work
Using a LG vu3- K and this was a savior for me - Wanted to know if possible to update the ROM and retrain the firmware? or if there are compatible rom's ? KK 4.2 is still great but newer architecture would be nice
