Good morning,
I have a question/doubt that perhaps some expert can answer me.
Redmi HM 1SW has a serious problem with moving apps from internal storage to external sd card.
I've found a solution, making the right partitions on the sd card (a FAT32 and a ext2), and using Link2SD ( and Link2SD Plus).
But, BEFORE this, I rooted my cell phone and installed also Super SU and TWRP Recovery...
My question is: was it necessary to do so? Or does the Link2SD (with the right partitions) method works without rooting?
Kind regards,
CPtolemy

Hello All,
As we all know there a bit slight issue as far as the internal memory of Xperia Arc is concernend.. when I googled on how can we use our SD card to actually increase the internal memory so that we need not move the apps explicitly to the SD card, I came to knw that we need to create a partition on our SD card in ext4 format.. But I dint get the exact way of doing it... so can anybody tell me how we can do it? And does it need to have a custom ROM installed? Does it work on stock ROM also? Please help.. Thanks..
Try Link2SD or AD2SDX.
I tried Link2SD, but my problem was that after creating the new partition in FAT32, the phone won't mount the SD card, and keeps acting as if the SD card removed. When I deleted the second partition, everything went back to normal but without adding to the internal memory (which is the whole point)
I must have done something wrong but can't figure it out.
The second partition is the one that has to be in ext4 format and as logical so your phone will not try to mount it for storage purposes..

since xperia m has very little internal storage, now i am looking to buy 32gb memory card but little confused about this methods.
is swapping works perfectly? i dont want write scrpt again and again on every reboot
or sd card partitioning is good?
please give me suggestion which one is good.
Maybe just use gl to sd app to move game files to sd card. This method is safe and easy.
I think partitioning the SD card is better.
I m using this and it's perfectly fine.
use link2sd to move apps
and gl2sd or foldet mount to move game data to SD card
Eh I just swapped internal with SD. You do it once and then you don't have to deal with other apps.

Internal memory Card /Sd Card ist full
Hello Guys,
I´m so sorry for my english (because it´s so bad) and for any mistakes I will do in this Forum.
I just have one problem: My internal memory is all in used , it´s full.
Yesterday I flashed my smartphone ( S3 GT I9300) and it felt like I did it about 100times, because of freeze and the wrong kernel etc.
Then I tried to get in a backup again, to save a Game again ( Clash of Clans) but the backup does not work, so I tried another and another and...
Suddenly I realised that my free memory gets smaller and smaller. So I actually have only about 200-300mb free.
But I did not put anything on the device. Quite the contrary. I erase already some backups to have more memory...
So exist there any method to " tidy up" the internal memory card??
Hope someone can help me.
Thanks a lot
I´m so sorry...
best regards Gotschi

We can use Large storage!!!
If you are OK with rooting your device, you can use Link2SD and Foldermount to use your External SD card. you just need to flash Init.d support mod after rooting. then install Link2SD and/or Foldermount

Yeah I'm using FolderMount but I want every app's downloaded files be in EXT_sd.
Everytime I organize my files, it's too bothersome.
the new Link2SDplus does it all
How can you guys get it working? Mine says that there is mo partition on the sd card or insufficient storage even though I still have 10+gb on the sd card and 2+gb on the phone and doesnt move it

Link2SD needs a specific EXT formatted partition on your external SD in order to work. follow a Link2SD installation guide..
Alright, I just got my Asus Zenfone 2E from Wal-mart about four days ago and I've already rooted it on day three, to fix some issues with SD Card write and read permissions.
But my biggest issue is the emulated sd card, I thought that "Move to SD" meant moving the app to External SD card not Internal SD card or the emulated storage.
My question is, can I use root apps to move them to the real SD card for more storage space or use some kind of partitioning mod or app to redo the space to my liking?.
Thanks if you help me out, and I'm coming from a Samsung Galaxy S2 (Straight Talk) Phone.

Link2SD is the one the you want.
Backup your SD card and make two partitions on it. One being the normal sd storage and one being the link to the second partition.

I'll do this after work tonight, does the second partition need to be a different File System like First one NTFS and the second Fat32?

Depends on the ROM you use. My Resurrection Remix on Zenfone 2 needs Fat32 on both partitions.
However make sure you look at Link2SD guides as some say you can use Ext 2, Ext 3, or Ext 4 for the second partition.

Using the stock ZenUI Rom from day one but I'll fire up EaseUs partition master on my laptop and see what I can use partition wise.

Sorry for double posting but I just ran into a issue, I made a 10 GB Fat32 second part on my 64 GB card and then the rest was the first part. But moving Facebook back to the internal storage cause a RR (Random Reboot) and my two test apps, Astro and Amazon Underground, had the grey android icon with an sd card icon, and tapping on the icon pops a toast message saying "App not installed"
I'm using the true stock ROM WW_12.16.5.118_20151204 firmware, rooted and Xposed on 5.0.1
Edit: just learned that I never installed busybox after installing the true stock Rom on my ZenFone 2e. I think that's why it failed to link sometimes.
I use CM12.1 LP, AICP 2015-12-25. on my i9195 S4 mini LTE.
I like it, but i unable to move apps, to SDcard.
It says there is not enough memory.
I have 500MB in internal, and 11GB on SD card.
Which ROM do you suggest, if i want to move apps, to SD card?
I do not want CM13, MM, because i heard it must encrypt the SD card.
I want my SD card unencrypted, for saves.

I've not done it myself but I believe you can move apps to External SD on any ROM with Link2SD (or similar app) & you can partition external SD so you can still read one partition on PC & apps on the other partition.

I use it but I have not yet used it to move apps to SD or partition SD, I'm not yet desperate for more space. See the link2sd website & search for link2sd tutorial for more info as it looks to be quite a lot of work.
