i use cm security its much better

I think its not its issue because I resetted my phone but it didn't work then I restarted my router and changed the IP and now it works

but anyway becareful when using those software ,they can terminate necessary apps.

I like this software, it seems awesome, it can lock our apps so if we lend our phone to someone else, they can't snoop in our private details.
good for save yourself from siblings, cousins, brother in law, parents.

don't use antivirus, memory cleaner, ram booster etc type apps android pretty much takecare itself ..

yeah but still android needs an antimalware because still some apps can steal your information.

Track lost phone with GPS?

I know that Android based phones have applications where you can track your phone through GPS software should it ever get lost. Is there such an application for our phones? I'd hate to lose my phone that has GPS capability and not be able to find it. And the thought of losing it and someone else finding it, hack it, and use it for their own personal use would be very more irritating.
And I know that the Motorola CLIQ even has the capability to erase all your stored information on the phone should you lose it to prevent someone from hacking into the phone and retrieving your sensitive information. Again, is there any software for our phones also?

I always do use the "Search" function, but even with sifting through posts I didn't come across the two you listed. Thank you. Maybe I'm trying to be too technical with my searches...
Free web services (and Beta), with "Find" and "Erase" functions, among others:
www.flexilis.com
www.mobiwee.com
I just tried the Maspware GuardsMobile and ended up locking my phone up. It recommended disabling balloon pop-ups and a soft-restart. I allowed that then it gave me errors loading some related tracking.exe file. I tried to enter the default pin and it didn't work. Gave me 3 attempts. After the 3rd attempt the phone was locked! Searched around and came up with nothing. There's not even a guide explaining what happens.
So now I'm forced to reflash the phone and restore my PIM. I do not recommend this program for anyone with cooked ROMs.
I'm going to now play with Ultimate Theft Alert.
Can't find any command lines for Ultimate Theft Alert V35. I don't think I really like it a whole lot as some of the others...think I'll try my luck at Maspware GuardMobile again.
Ok, reinstalled GuardMobile. Activated it (fingers crossed). It recommended disabling the SMS bubbles again and a soft-reset. I let it and amazingly my phone didnt lock up this time when entering the demo password "1234".
I feel much more comfortable trialing this program than Ultimate Theft Alert as they list the commands on their website, and you don't get ANY commands list until you've purchased UTA. So without having any commands to trial the program I will not be purchasing UTA.
Time to play around with MaspWare GuardMobile now...
Ok, just tried to exit GuardMobile and I got the freaking error again!
"An unexpected error has occurred in GuardMobile_TS.exe.
Select Quit and them restart this program, or select Details for more information.
Luckily this time I didn't leave it active while testing. Reset phone and it works. But everytime I try and test the locate or monitor it fails to send SMS. Then I exit the program and it crashes. I'm going to uninstall and forget this program...AGAIN!
Sprite Terminator seems to work so far. Only exception is that I can't use the "Alternate GPS" It doesn't give me a lock on my position and comes up with all ZEROS. Going to keep playing with this.
Had you tried any of the web services I've posted?
They both work fine for me. And they are both free (at least, for now, at Beta stage...).
there's a program called WIMP, i havent tried it yet though
Sprite Terminator works, BUT when it intercepts the SMS code it doesn't text back.

Well, Flexilis have a "Scream" command, that will make the phone starts playing a rather anoying horn sound, for 30 seconds.
Handy to find a lost device, at least. And to get some atention on a stolen one, but the thief can just turn it off...
Kaspersky Mobile Security 8
Looks like no one has mentioned or tried this software yet.
I've already tried the 1 month trial version and then purchased a 1 year plan which I believe is worth every penny.
It's an anti virus, anti spam, sms and phone blocker and phone locater.
link:
http://www.kaspersky.com/kaspersky_mobile_security?thru=reseller=kmssidebanner3
Features:
Block access to contacts, photos or files on your phone if it is lost or stolen
Get the GPS location of a lost or stolen phone
Encrypt sensitive personal and business data
Remotely wipe your smartphone if necessary
Block unwanted calls and SMSs
Cybercrime and your smartphone
Stop cybercriminals hijacking your smartphone to make money
Block the sending of data to third parties
Prevent corruption of personal data
Hope this helps!

Hmm might be at least a bit useful like you say - maybe a password to turn off sound will be better?
Well, they are in Beta, so accepting ideas and feature requests... why don't you send them an e-mail?

Strange "RootPA" app on my HTC 10. Is it a potential security issue?

Im using a HTC 10 (EU variant). Today i was scrolling through "Netguard" (if you dont know it, its an app to prevent other apps from internet access), since i configured it to show system apps it displays way more apps than the normal app overview in the settings. In there i found an app called "RootPA" and one called "root", which seems strange since i didnt unlock the bootloader or root on my own. The details in the RootPA entry say "com.gd.mobicore.pa", no idea if thats helpfull to determine the origin of this mysterious app.
Can you help me with this?
Did you Google it?
I did, but the results were not realy usefull. I found someone with a modded Galaxy S3 who deleted a RootPA on accident and broke stuff, but that ssems unrelated. Are there any things i could do to find out more about the app installed on my phone without root?
I cant say its something I've ever seen. If this person in the past removed it, and it broke stuff, that would suggest that it may have been a system app and he was rooted. From what I managed to find on google, it is part of a security suite (mobicore) used by networks to monitor what the state of the phone is, presumably incase something happens, and it was the user fault, and they know for a fact because they have logs of what the phone has done.
[ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE] Allows applications to access information about networks
[INTERNET] Allows applications to open network sockets. (i.e send information)
[READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE] Allows an application to read from external storage.
[READ_PHONE_STATE] Allows read only access to phone state.
A friend of mine got his HTC 10 2 days ago, ill ask him to look for this app. Its unlikely we would have the same virus/whatever installed.
Edit: He just reseted his 10 (due to missing language options, but thats another topic), but still found "root" and "rootPA" on his phone, so its preinstalled (although i still dont understand whats its purpose).
RootPA is provides service for provisioning secure applications that run on ARM trustzone and t-base OS (formerly mobicore). It is preinstalled in some vendors Android devices (search for this string on the internet: htc-devices-to-incorporate-trustonic-t-base-tee), but mostly unused as far as I know. The source code of some versions is available on the Internet (e.g. on github /Faryaab/android_hardware_samsung_slsi_exynos5410/tree/master/mobicore/rootpa).
It has nothing to to with rooting or unrooting the device.

S4 Mini behaves strangely

I apologize for my English, I'm Brazilian, and they told me to go to XDA to solve my problem.
In this case, I'm using Google Translate.
Hello, I have an S4 Mini, which is behaving in a very strange way and I already tried to make the two solutions that I found, that would be to put the Stock Rom, and the Hard Reset but that did not solve.
The symptoms I have noticed in him so far are:
1 - Battery behaves strangely (Sometimes I turn on and off the battery comes back with another charge). And it gets very fast when I'm using it. But the battery is new.
Android takes actions alone, for example, it is 0% I connect it, it unlocks the screen alone, and opens the native browser the "Internet", and goes to a page that is like a map, and starts to Write random things, like, McFWjham; KAMV.
3- The use of data has remained high when it is active.
4- Sometimes when it is working normally, it opens native programs for no reason, the most common is the "Internet".
So I do not know what else to do, the cell phone is very well preserved, no visible problems, no crumple of drops, the problem is just in time to use kkk. Help me pls.
#Edit :The screen when active uses 40% to 50% of the battery according to Android.
The "Android System" occasionally gets to spend 60% of the battery.
When the battery is locked it tends to remain, but when I use the smartphone, the battery tends to decrease with the second ones very fast.
The battery is new.
Please help me T.T

Sounds like you have a malware infection (though can't be 100% sure) maybe adware, I would guess. Factory reset should have fixed it and reinstall stock rom would definitely fix it even if malware rooted your phone. So that means there is an easy way for reinfect to happen.
Reinfection can happen many ways eg via bad app, through your google account, cloud storage, wifi, other network you have joined etc. Unfortunately it can be very hard to stop if you don't know how it's happening.
1st lets assume it's a bad app you installed, try run a good antivirus like Avast, does it show malware? Clean anything it finds. If you are lucky it will only be adware app that you reinstalled yourself after the new rom, once removed you will be OK and phone clean. But if it comes back by itself then it will take more work to find how it happens.
[Note: You can also boot phone into safe mode which will only allow system apps to run, it is a way to test if it is a bad 3rd party app, is the problem stopped now 3rd party apps can't run?. (though if your phone has been rooted by malware and bad app installed as system app, then bad app will still run). If you think it might have been rooted, download a root checker app to test]

I have avast installed, and cleaned, but not changed at all.
My device was already rooted by me, when I gave the hard reset and soon after the exchange of the rom stock, the root was undone,
I installed Root Checker and it said root was not properly installed.
And as for the security mode, I turned the phone on in safe mode, and when the screen was unlocked, it automatically opened the "internet" browser, on the same page as always.
What should I do?

ummm .... I was expecting it was just going to be a bad app serving ads, this is going to be hard
OK, that should rule out 3rd party apps (assuming you have avast set to find all PUP/PUA, etc & nothing white listed) but not finding anything may mean malware is embeded in ROM or malware was able to open port on your system but then uninstall itself or just that there is a line of code that points browser to a server that is serving adware so antivirus is not finding it. Some malware is able to hide from anti virus software in different ways. Try this app, it is not true antivirus, you run it manually, don't worry if one or two antivirus companies like white armour identify malware, they do often even on clean phone.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.funnycat.virustotal
You can also submit any unknown app to virus total white this app for testing. Also you must submit the bad url your browser is connecting to for testing, this will help it spread to all anti virus database.
Good news is you do not appear to be rooted. But the ROM you flashed may still be bad. Where did you get the stock ROM you flashed? I would only use a trusted source like sammobile.com/ but even that is no guarantee. You could try flash another ROM, though as this happened on previous ROM it's probably a good ROM, unless you are getting all your ROM from same site that is not well known as trusted.
So that would suggest they are able to get easy access to your phone either via your google account, cloud service, local network at home/work/public, or through your modem/router.
Check your local network doesn't have a neighbour or other unknown device connected with this app Fing
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.overlook.android.fing
Of course even if you recognise all devices that doesn't mean your brothers etc phone is not the source.
Do the same with other networks you have access to.. Talk to work, any one else infected? Change you password. If using public wifi always use a vpn.
Likely source is your modem/router, Log into your modem router check for updates for it, (if old and not supported you may need a new one), update or if latest firmware do a factory reset, now reboot and use a new password (do this at the same time you reset ALL your passwords, or you might just allow them to find new passwords and reinfect you)
Check your goggle account does not have someone else set for account recovery and/or two factor authentication. (set it up if not already on) Change password and ALSO change password on any other recovery account (write them down )
do the same for cloud storage, and scan storage for virus if possible eg dropbox local folder on pc. Unlink cloud storage from mobile until you are clean to block this route of reinfection.
Update any other device software & change passwords eg xbox, printers etc
I think there's something I'm forgetting
Now reflash stock ROM ( I would also suggest then flashing an up to date custom ROM with most recent security patches)
Things you can do that may help temporarily .....
Install a firewall app like netguard and block internet access to browser, through may not work as root etc is open by default. Oh yes, that reminds me of one thing I forgot, check your DNS has not been hijacked, netguard shows dns url in settings, change if you cannot find who dns server your phone is using, use google 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4 if you don't know what to set.
Use an app like Link2SD, Titanium Pro to freeze apps, but you will need root for this.
It's a lot of work (& I think there is something I am forgetting), you may get away with just factory resetting your modem or something as it appears to just be adware so they probably don't have access to your accounts etc, but I tried to cover everything.
Hope I'm making sense through goggle translate!
Phone with mind of its own may not be hacked or haunted. It can in fact happen when it's exposed to moisture or water. Try putting the phone in a bag of rice for several hours, this will draw out all moisture. Hairdrayer may damage electronics because overheating.
If hacked, I would do following steps:
- modem update with odin (manuals search XDA)
- update latest TWRP (dito on XDA)
- start phone in Recovery mode and wipe everything, also Format Data on SD and external SD. Simple Factory reset my not delete it (use Advaced wipe)
- Install LOS14.1 from arco (check compatibility first, other version available for double SIM) It comes with latest security patches.
- Install Open GApps nano or pico. Install other Gapps later if you need.
- start phone, skip setting for WLan to see if everything works without Network.
Does it work? ...then an open WLan could be hacked, try a secure first or mobile network.
Good luck
Hello guys!
The battery drop problem is a common failure with this i9195 phone. I did a research but you have to help me as well by providing IMEI S/N (located under the battery) in PM to me!
New battery doesn't helps!
My current research: If your phone made in Vietnam in the 1-line ~2013, then you will have a dead motherboard soon, before that battery issue is occuring.
So please give me your details and I will look after it.
Do anyone know when they stopped producing i9195 and i9195i ? I need to buy the latest version, because my i9195 was made in 2013 and have that battery drain issue even with new batteries...
Thanks.

Note 10+, user certificates and package disabler

Alright, I'm in that nice panic stage where you've learned enough to scare yourself but don't know enough to reassure yourself.
Had a factory reset recently, seems likely it was due to 3rd party lock/wipe app i triggered while dealing with my dog. (But not 100% sure there was a drop just prior and I've had stability issues since school has required me add a work profile but, of course tech support for both Microsoft and my school have zero response to inquiries)
Any way, user certificates now has two:
FindMyMobile
AttestationKey_com_wssyncmldm
And I have no idea how to verify those in any way. Its quite possible isn't it that an app could have actually installed them right?
Findmymobile, obviously is such a cert, allowing for find my mobile. It has a key a CA cert and user cert.
AttestationKey_com_wssyncmldm
Has a user key and user cert
I would say it's the school/work profile. Microsoft InTune is for enterprise IT management. If your school's IT managers don't know how to configure it, it can screw things up for everyone.
Try deleting your school profile and see what happens.
My company recently migrated from Google to Microsoft services and when I added my company as a work profile, my phone started acting wonky.
Sent from my SM-N976V using Tapatalk
I would reload and not put the crapware back on it.
It's your phone... my favorite word is No!
I have zero faith in the new MS; don't run any of their cloud junk on my 10+ and never will.
Find my device is normally present. You can disable it as a device administrator in advanced security settings.
It will auto enable on reboot or sometimes when you go to Playstore.

Find my mobile is for find my mobile being active when you have a VPN that may block it.
The other I still don't know but may be Knox related under same circumstances.
Thank you, @blackhawk and @HungryRobotics
I had a similar guess, that findmymobile was the Samsung service. Since I was using a VPN-based ad block (Adguard), it makes sense that it appeared there.
As for the other one (AttestationKey_com_wssyncmldm), I'm still not sure, but I wonder if it was for the Link to PC service.
It's alarming to find anything in User Certificates, honestly, and there seems no way to get information that they are legit. My hope is that it is only the system apps that can install certificates without user intervention.

wssyncmldm is the infamous AT&T updater usually listed as in my previous screen shot.
Seems it might have something to do with this.
My guess is it has to do with setting up the work profile.
If it was there on the AT&T stock rom, after a factory reset it should be ok.
Maybe check with AT&T.

For many reasons.. They changed it in some very bad way for my opinion.. like the auto turning on WiFi by some apps, like some apps that don't have widgets, the call recording issue and many more very annoying unreasonable changes they did on A10 on.. saw also they only allow FBE encryption instead of FDE which is much better [That i can see for huge 128, 256 or maybe 512 Gigs Storages but still it should be up to the user decision not forcing]
So you say it's completely impossible? even if flash universal / rooted ROM? no way at all?! cause man those are really annoying stuff especially to the tech Pros and/or savvy's like us, and i know that since i saw many threads and posts in other forums about those issues too.. Maybe some giving up or thinking it's advancements, but really, maybe big money involved, espionage, and many more possible reasons they doing it.. It's bad, really bad..
* BTW sorry for the multiplication threads didn't knew it's SPAMing and not very involved it forums world..
Thank ahead.

To be honest I don't understand none of your points.
1. Wifi can be still turned on by apps, you just need to enable the permission (allow always vs. allow only when app is running in foreground).
2. Call recording is working in regions where it's not forbidden by privacy laws.
3. FBE is much better because it allows you to start the phone with basic service without using the password. Not sure why do you consider FDE to be superior.
4. Well, you can try to build your own Android 7 ROM from old sources, but you're going to have a fun time adapting to vendor partition/proprietary files created for Android 10 or 11. Also using several years old code which is not supported or patched anymore is quite interesting approach to security.

Maybe it's regional or SROMs based issue, but the vendor of the app said it's not allowed on Android 10 and on, and i did confirmed the permission to turn on WiFi automatically, but maybe there's some other settings that i missed and that guy was wrong, i'd love if you can show how to enable it globally and/or to just the auto file sync i use, cause i tried many times even with manual syncing [by clicking the Sync button when WiFi is off, it started and turn it off automatically on Android 7.0.. Of course also for time interval based sync]..

Hi.. Thanks for your reply.. i did that already before, but still it doesn't work.. i use FolderSync, that currently in my old Android 7.0 device, does syncing when i click Sync from within the app, while i was totally offline [Data and Wifi] so it turned on the Wifi connection [Specific home network], and also on Scheduled i inserted the Allowed Networks SSID [Which BTW when i turn on WiFi manually and it does sync it with GDrive, it say on top 'Unknown SSID' for case it matters {Had the feeling that it very much does}], I also switced it on in Data and WiFI limit it does on that Security app, which i guess is kind of firewall, and BTW i remember like 5-6 years ago i had the Lenovo A8 "Golden Worrier" has that same kind of Security app built in with firewall and all that, but still manually at least, as i checked, it doesn't turn on the Wifi via FolderSync app.. Got a strong feeling it's due to that Unknown SSID stuff or that Security app.. Could it be?..

FolderSync doesn't turn Wifi On automatically, this feature seems to be missing in the app. But I've just tested with Tasker and it is able to turn Wifi On and Off, so it's not a problem of Android version.
For Allowed SSID feature in FolderSync you must enable permanent location access.
Btw. I see no point in turning Wifi Off at any point, it uses so little power that there is next to none benefit in doing it. If you insist on some kind of automation, use Tasker in a fully controlled manner.

Well your first argument is actually not tru, FolderSync does turns on Wifi automatically as i do for like 4 years with my older Galaxy s6 [Great dev BTW, Samsung's first 64 bit device i thinks] running now Android 7.0, and also the other day and im sure if ill try this right now it will actually turning on WiFi from off mode and also automatically closed it when done syncing, but no matter what i did it doesn't doing it on the XM10T5G, and it both updated to the latest FolderSync version the one with those tiles.. so it must be something with the operation system.. again it's some kind of Andro/MIUI OS so it has to do with one of them..
About the SSID, i did confirmed the location access all the time [not just when it's used] on the Security app, is there any other place that i should enable location or any other settings that may be relating to this?..
And really? you don't see the point in using Wifi? It's much more faster, secure, and reliable than data.. of course i don't care if it'll be 4G or 5G even better to sync, but obviously not any connection, but thanks for the Tasker Tip, i'll try that.. i've heared that somewhere i think from the gut of FolderSync..
And BTW, the call recording is legal in my country, so i did also many years but here only after trying several apps i found Cube ACR working good.. And also, some apps ask you if you confirm that Call recording is legal in your country but of course if you flash custom or different ROM, the system obviously can never tell..
Peace..

I see no point in turning wifi OFF.
Anyway, good luck finding/building your perfect Andoid 7 ROM.

Again security and energy reasons.. Think about it..
Anyway i barely know how to flash ROM, so i'm very far from building a custom one.. But at start you said it's impossible to install / flash an older Android ROM to it [XM10T5G], so you say it's possible with custom ROM?

Again - not possible, such ROM doesn't exist.
