[Q] How to back up imei/efs folder? - Sony Xperia M

There's the thing: I tried to flash my Sony Xperia M C1905 to CM12 and I got stuck on the Sim Card Missing problem, so I have to go back to stock 4.3 version. I want to go back to use the CM12, but I can't find the EFS folder to back up. I have used the root explorer and es explorer, but don't find anywere.
Pls, help. ^^

EFS is only exclusive for Samsung devices.
There is a similar partition, and it is called TA, exclusively for Sony, yet it is not exactly the same with EFS.
In this case, it is no longer necessary to backup 'EFS'. You just have to make sure you have booted into the stock ROM at least once for the sim card to be read, then you can proceed flashing CM12.

[HELP] with EFS pro v2.0.33/ Unable to flash custom roms

I cant flash custom roms with I927. When I do I loose baseband, IMEI etc.no network. I'm running ICS 4.0.4, I am rooted, my ICS is backed up in CWMR and so is GB stock. I want to back up my efs folder so I can try to restore it after I flash to a custom rom and see if that works, also I would like to have a copy of my efs in case I screw it up. In EFS pro v2.0.33 I can not get a list of any device partitions and my device is not listed as a Device Filter so I can not back up my efs folder. Im running busybox v1.20.2 and have enabled USB debugging. I have no clue how to create a device filter and I can not figure it out from anything I've read in the forums. Should I use an older version of EFS pro? Is there an easy way to figure out if my custom rom problem is an efs folder problem or something else?

Do a search in the EFS thread, I made one about asking for rogers root... theres thread sout there that explain how to back it up using ADB terminal ...
Theres 2 ways, one is taking the image of the mounted partition and the other is by copying and backing up all the files.
Don't use an app, they aren't specific enough for out phones.

Hi,i rooted my friends Wildfire s and everything went great, but when he put his SIM card and rebooted it went in to a bootloop.

Hi
is he on the stock rom? odexed or de-odexed? what rom version?
For a quick fix i would recommend flashing this rom via clockworkmod recovery, as it is fairly stock and already rooted. Ensure that your friend makes a full nandroid backup first, then wipe everything, except the sdcard, and then flash the rom afetr placing it onto the root of the sdcard. like he must have done to root. then, after the rom has booted up and is working with his sim card i recommend downloading this app here and use this to restore heir contacts, and sms ect. NOTE: only restore data apps, and not system apps at there may be conflicts! good luck pal.

SM-P605 EFS backup

Hello! I have successfully rooted my sm-p605 Note 10.1 with CF autoroot and also flashed TWRP. So far so good!
I´m looking forward to flashing Android Revolution HD on it but I have not yet been able to backup EFS.
I have tried to do it with EFS Professional 2.0. There is no actual filter for this device so I tried using the Galaxy Note 3 filter as i think they have equivalent hardware, that gives me the error that I cannot create tar archive. I also tried to choose "all partitions" but that gives me checksum error.
I am not really sure that I wan't to risk bricking my 750 € tablet by flashing a custom ROM before getting a proper EFS backup.
Are there by the way a risk of corrupting EFS in case I only restore the stock rom backup made in TWRP?
That would be my second option, to only make some root enabled customization and debloating in stock TW and not touch any custom roms and in case of messing up, restoring stock backup.
So, is there anyone that have been able to backup EFS on their sm-p605/Samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 LTE Qualcomm?
I do apologize for my crappy English, I ain't a native speaker.
After some research I came across some comments on various websites mentioning that it is possible to restore EFS by flashing stock firmware.
Can someone please verify this? That even if I will not be able to backup EFS i still can restore it by flashing Samsung stock firmware?

Got no idea but you can use a file explorer to grab a copy of your EFS folder with a file explorer like ES and copy to your sd card then transfer to your PC...
Don't know how much of a help this will be but at least you have a copy if you think you can follow some of the recovery instructions and need the original files....
I flashed the same ROM and I remember during the installation it asked me if I want to backup the EFS. I pressed yes and it just did and install the ROM.
Any success on backup EFS folder? I've the same device and i'm planning to try custom rom too

[Solved][Q] Recovery, root and xposed on .270

Hi guys,
so I updated from .242 lollipop to .270 via pc companion, and unfortunately lost the dual recovery and root access. I found a ton of stuff how to root .242 but nothing for .270. Furthermore I still have a locked bootloader and dont want to unlock it, if there is another way. So can anybody tell me how i can get my phone in an "appopriate working condition"?
Btw, is xposed finally working on .270 or not? I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
but it isn't explicitly for the xperia models.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: I have a nandroid backup from .242 with root and recovery. Unfortunately i cant recover it without a recovery :/
For everyone who had the same problem, I solved it finally:
First i used the old method for rooting and getting recovery from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2642081
I didnt use option 22. When everything was finished I restored my nandroid backup from .242 but got unfortunately some errors in the process resulting that everything was restored, except the internal sd card (or internal memory, whatevery you call it). It wasnt a big deal to me, since almost all my apps were moved to the external sdcard, but for example, I lost all the uccw widgets, which appeared to be saved on the internal sdcard. So for everyone who tries the same: Find a way to backup your internal data otherwise, than nandroid.
Afterwards I took the prerooted zip from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/general/stock-14-5-0-270-customized-t3115946
and flashed it dirty (without any wiping) with my old recovery over .242.
Everything seems fine so far.
I forgot to mention that xposed from the link I posted is working on .270. Gravitybox LP is working as well, after checking it in modules->Gravitybox and rebooting. Didnt check other modules, though. No bootloops so far.

Hello again,
When I wrote this post, I was using my stock rom and had no recovery.
Now I use a custom rom.
How did I do it?
I installed TWRP on the boot partition and flashed the new rom.
I don't need CWM now, thank you.

thanks God, great, you have solved it :victory:
BTW my story was that in the time I was trying to resolve this, I was also thinking that first I want to make a stock system NANDroid backup on my c1905 (and on dual SIM c2005 too) but
as we know, on Xperia M phones, which are without a Recovery partition, I could not use CWM, nor TWRP to back up the system, without TWRP/CWM installation overwriting the BOOT partition first and thus I would make my stock android system NANDroid backup to be without the correct boot partition, the backed up system would therefore never boot to android system but would boot to CWM, TWRP, etc, flashed in the boot partition in that moment
So for all of us who wanted to make (c1904, c1905, c2004, c2005 = codename nicky) Xperia M stock android system NANDroid style backup first, e.g. to be able to get back the the stock system with all the apps and settings (NANDroid style backed up system), for the event, for example, the new custom ROM would not work, then there is an app named Online NANDroid that can be installed on running stock android with already bootloader unlocked, rooted. This app does not need the recovery partition to run, it runs as a normal .apk Android app. Online NANDroid can make a NANDroid backup of running Android system. But beware: it does not backup the sdcard0 partition, you must back it up manually - it is the so called "Internal storage", that is in fact not an removable sdcard (only an emulation of it) but is a part of phone's internal non volatile memory. We can save our own files there, when not wanting to save it on real physical removable SDCard.
