[Q] No Navigation Bar? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi guys a noob here!
So here's my problem: I rooted my phone and all that (still stock android) however during my time using my phone rooted i decided i wanted to use my phone in full-screen, as i already installed gravity box with xposed installer, i used gravity box's 'expanded desktop' mode and i have turned off expanded desktop however the navigation bar is gone. Any ideas whats happened? What do i do to get it back?

Try to check Gravity Box´s Expanded desktop settings.
Maybe there is something set to prevent navigation buttons to be toggled after turning Expanded desktop off.

I've looked around in gravity box yet i haven't found anything that could be causing this problem, anymore ideas?

Add wifi on off in quick menu?

To save a lot of my battery life I have widget to turn off wifi when I'm just playing a game or reading. I notice on my 10 inch Lenovo tablet there is a wifi toggle on/off why isn't it there for the a100? Is there any way to enable it or add it on? I know I can use the widgets but If I'm already reading or playing a game it a PITA to have to go back to home screen just to toggle wifi via widget rather than just launching the quick menu to disable it.
The notification menu allows for the toggling of airplane mode. Is that sufficient? (Three clicks to popup, click the settings icon, and toggle the mode). I think there is a way to add an icon on the desktop for a single click. I need to look into that later today.
When you say "quick menu," do you mean the three button ribbon? I don't know how to add or remove anything from there, but I would be interested in learning. I would also be interested in hiding it or using swiping to toggle it. I will try to look into this too.
I used curvefish Widgets for one tap wifi on-off and autorotation lock. (not a fan of physical switches) I am now using Beautiful Widgets toggle switches for Wifi and rotation since it was only 10 cents in the market.

You're right I could just toggle airplane mode which should turn off wifi. I'm gonna see if this also turns off GPS. Thanks.
I think the wifi toggle doesn't exist in the 7 inch tablets. I saw a video of a flyer with honeycomb and it didn't have it eithrt but it did have airplane toggle.

The Airplane toggle does not turn off the GPS. At least, I use the GPS while in Airplane mode quite frequently (e.g. navigation apps, geocaching app, and etc.). There is a possibility that I am disabling the GPS with Airplane mode and then manually turning on the GPS when I activate a related app. I need to test that.

I looked this up (haven't tried it yet) and it looks promising. Of course, you have to go to the main menu.
I wonder if there is a way to modify the Android ribbon on that has the back, home, and switch app buttons. I believe you called that the "Quick Menu." Still need to look that up. I would personally love to remove the Home button (since we have capacitive Acer home key) and maybe add another button.

I just confirmed that toggling Airplane mode has no effect on the GPS. In order for me to turn off the GPS, I have to toggle the GPS setting.
Since this isn't a phone, is "Airplane Mode" nothing more than a WiFi toggle?
The Curvefish GPS won't show up on my list of widgets.
I downloaded the Toggle Widgets Pack which gives me a GPS widget that just sends me directly to the GPS settings rather than toggles it on and off.
The TW widgets for WiFi, Airplane mode, Bluetooth, etc do act as a toggle though. Odd.

I am pretty sure it toggles bluetooth as well. Of course, I have to look that up.
The bluetooth I dont really use and the GPS havent yet the need to use to so for now the airplane mode will do. Previously I was using a wifi on off widget in my home screen to turn it off now I dont have to leave any game or watching a video to turn it off. Thanks for the advice!
Np. Enjoy!

The best toggle app I have found is Widgetsoid2.x. It puts the toggle buttons into the Notifications menu, so to toggle WiFi off/on I just click once for the Notification Menu, once for the toggle, then click back to the main screen.

I used widgetsoid on my gtab before but i didnt know it can add those to the notification menu. I'll have to try it...thanks.
Just installed it...I see in the market images it can be added to android 2.3 or below. Can you show me how to add it in the notification bar on the bottom for honeycomb?
EDIT: It seems a big buggy an too redundant since you already have it in the notification bar also. Thanks for the tip though.

At this point I already have toggle widgets. But he mentioned an app that can add the toggle in the status bar on the bottom (atleast thats what I think hes saying). This would be better since it doesnt require me to go to home screen.

Thank you! Looking at the images it looks very nice and matches the HC quick setting perfectly. Widgetsoid was good too but I think was kinda buggy so I never really used it. Gonna try yours now. Thanks again......
EDIT: Just installed it. Love that it matches honeycomb and you cant really tell its an add on. It is someone redundant though cause it also shows a notification icon in the bottom bar. But I'm not complaining.
EDIT2: Found theres setting to disable icon in notification bar.

Hide NFC Icon for Rooted G4's?

I haven't yet seen any posts regarding removing default icons from the G4's status bar.
What needs to happen before we'll be able to remove NFC icons from our devices? Any G4 Tweaksbox in the works?
I'd love to know if this is possible. The NFC icon is driving me nuts. I just leave NFC enabled all the time and don't need an indicator. Sadly, neither GravityBox nor Wanam Kit can hide it, and G3 Tweaksbox does not work on the G4.
I would love to hide it too
You should be able to hide it with GravityBox and Xposed. I used it to hide the bluetooth, alarm, "am/pm", and a few other icons from my notification bar.
Yes, there is an option to hide Bluetooth. There doesn't seem to be a way to hide NFC or location service icons unless they're in a totally different place that I can't find. =/

You can hide the location icon using "flat style bar indicators" but not the nfc icon.
I just got the G4 and I'm coming from a Galaxy S3 and Cyanogenmod, so I'm very used to being able to add/remove icons and disabling the NFC icon would be most awesome.
I also wouldn't mind the numbered battery percentage text inside the battery icon.
Oh, and can you unpair the notification and ringtone volume so I can adjust each independently?
Otherwise, great phone. It's the small things that irk me.
After upgrading to Marshmallow, the GravityBox utility to hide the Bluetooth icon doesn't seem to work right anymore. It works the moment when it is hidden or etc, but when I turn the Bluetooth device on, the icon comes back and stays there. =/
Still nothing I can do about the NFC icon.

And the solution is still in my post three above this one.
Edit: OOOOPS..! The module was updated a long time ago and works with the NFC icon now...

What does and does not work with GravityBox

I have the Verizon G4, and I have Xposed and GravityBox working successfully. However, I ran into a few issues that I want to share, as well as share what I can confirm works. As we all know, GravityBox has a big disclaimer that it is meant for AOSP or stock-based ROMs, and not for heavily skinned ROMs like what our G4 has.
Confirmed working:
Changes to the status bar (remove icons, change battery icon, add data monitor, etc.)
Enabling all rotations
Lockscreen modification to automatically unlock after successful PIN entry
Confirmed not working:
Media tweak to allow separate ringtone and notification volume (this simply doesn't make any changes to volume controls)
Go to dialer automatically when opening phone
If you want to add to this list, simple comment below and I will update the OP. Hopefully this will help others from making possible bootloop or freezing issues.
Not Working: Go to dialer automatically when opening phone. It still goes right to recent for me.
Sometimes Works: Skip tracks with volume keys when screen is off. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I enabled the quick unlock under lockscreen tweaks. Works for me..

Do you use a PIN or pattern?

EDIT: I tried it and it worked with a PIN. I believe the issue was I also checked the button to automatically prompt for the PIN entry as well.
Were you able to remove the sim icon with the question mark with Gravity when using your T-Mobile sim?
Is anybody using it with smart unlock? For some reason, with gravity box installed, smart unlock did not work for me. Messed with all lock screen settings to no avail, including trying to disable all
I've tried all the following tweaks:
Statusbar tweaks- all the signal cluster, battery, and clock settings work. Data traffic monitor works. Ongoing notification blocker works. Disable peek too.
Display tweaks- allow all rotations works.
Media tweaks- "volume keys skip track" works. Some people have reported intermittent function but it works flawlessly for me. More music volume steps works. Reorient volume keys works. Disabling safe headset media volume works. Volume panel timeout works.
Navigation keys actions- all these settings work. To edit the square icon you have to use the recent key option.
Miscellaneous tweaks- recent tasks RAM bar with adjustments works. Headset actions work. Enable screenshot delete works.
All ultimate notification control settings work.
I'm sure other tweaks work but I haven't tried them.
can anyone get quicksettings to work? i haven't used gravitybox before. it seems pretty great, but i cant get that to work, maybe it isnt compatible.
i really want a separate quick-settings vs notification panel like I had in my m8/viperone. the g4 is slick, but i can't stand the quicksettings/notifications screen.
Is there any way to have the data/LTE icon disappear when connected to WiFi?
Expandable volume panel
Enabling Gravity Box (5.3.4)-->Media tweaks-->Expandable volume panel doesn't work. In fact, it makes your volume panel not show what level your volume is set/changed to when you tap a volume button. This is on VS98613B, and also did it on VS98611A.

This is called "Unknown Sim Icon"
Just Google LG G4 Unknown Sim Icon

I can't enable the System UI Tuner using the standard method on Android N beta.

I've tried rebooting, enabling and disabling developer options and just about everything else and it won't work.
Any fixes?

Expand the notification shade fully to reveal the gear icon (the one that takes you to settings) tap and hold it, it will spin and you will feel a vibration. System ui will then be shown in settings.

Always on Display goes blank - Double Tap to check phone not responding

So, while I have my phone on my desk the Always on Display will occasionally disappear leaving me with a blank screen. The only thing that gets the phone to wake is any type of alert/notification or physical push of the power button. I have Double Tap to check phone enabled, and when the AOD is active it will work, but when AOD does its little disappearing act, it wont.
Anyone else having this problem?
I know that the AOD is set to turn off when the phone is in my pocket and I determined that the sensor is in the top left part of the screen, but there is nothing blocking the sensor when AOS decides to turn off. I'm almost certain the issue is tied to that feature... unless I just have a defective phone.

Have you been messing with Immersive Mode where you hide the nav/status bars?
mine does this occasionally too. not sure why. i assumed it was an unfortunate side effect of setting my phone to immersive mode.
Did you install Greenify? I experienced a similar issue with Greenify installed.

You can fix the immersive mode causing hangups by running this command.
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.full=apps,-com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox
can use .full for full immersive, .navigation to hide nav bar, and .status to hide status bar
Thanks for the tips, all. I am not running any third party apps to alter anything stock on the phone. I'm not exactly sure what immersive mode is or how to activate it, but I haven't changed any settings in the phone other than your typical changes like font size, wallpapers and notification tones.
I do have an app called Calls Blacklist to block unknown and private calls, which Ive been getting a lot of lately. Perhaps that app's not playing nice with the AOD?

No should just be able to run the command I posted above
I narrowed it down to the Call Blocker app. Just applied the November security patch and now it happens everytime the app blocks an incoming call. I haven't uninstalled the app yet, but when I do I will update the thread to confirm my theory.
Thanks to everyone for their input.
