Edit: I have switched to Note4.
I shall not be able to update the thread anymore.
Just wanted to share this with everyone, as I have tried a few of the TW Lollipop ROMs.
DOMPOP - Exclusive Lollipop ROM for 900T with active development, getting better with every updates.
ViSiON-X N3 INTL - ViSiON-X ROMs always had good stability and good battery life. Now we got a lollipop update too.
Tweaked PORTED Stock Note4 Lollipop - ROM is basically for the international version, but separately flashable CSC pack makes it compatible for almost all variants including 900T. Lots of mods and aroma selectable notification panel.
DarkLord ROM - My daily driver for now. Not a lot of bells and whistles (mods), but that also makes it very stable. Selectable kernel in the aroma menu makes the installation process a snap.
AryaMod - Lots of mod choice through aroma including CSC pack.
Official TouchWiz Lollipop 9005XXUGBOA5 - Just the recovery flashable latest official stock. Hence with all the bloats too. Stable.
A general suggestion for those coming from Kitkat.
Make sure you are on latest NK3. If you loss c network connectivity, the Effortless Guide is your friend to return back.
Make good backup, both nandroid and TB.
Make a full wipe (Wipe cache/davlik cache, Format data, Format System) in recovery.
Restoring TB backup may not work for all apps. I have faced problems with Nova launcher, Facebook, Microsoft office and a few other. Specially don't restore any system apps from Kitkat. This may cause instability to the ROM itself.
I haven't tried all the ROMs out there, those can be added later based on others experience.

Didn't notice the lollipop release of ViSiON-X. Added to the OP.
Runing DOMPOP on my N900w8 with NH1 bootloader and Baseband. Running for 3 days without any kind of problems. Only bug is NFC but i can live without it for now.
Is there one, or more, that retain the wifi calling? This is very important for me due to my work environment, no reception in my office.
Just helping..... it's cool.

Sorry, No. The WiFi calling will not be supported in any of these, until the official tmobile release comes out.
As you may be aware, all of these roms are from the international version note3 or note4 releases.
That's why NFC also doesn't work...

I just wanted to know if it would be ok to flash one of these Lollipop ROMs, coming from a rooted Android 4.3? Or do I need to be on kitkat? Thanks
Nice thread I went with the official touch wiz all goo here BUT no nfc, no WiFi calling or VoLTE
All of the international ROMs work....

you need to be on the latest bootloader, that means on kitkat.
This is a great thread thanks
I have been running AryaMod for the last few months. It is stable and fast with great features (such as OTA updates and Aroma) and the development is always ongoing. The dev is responsive to requests and provides great support in the thread (already at 132 pages). It's probably the best ROM I have ever had for my Note 3.
I've wanted to try DarkLord for a while but haven't gotten around to it. And no sense in fixing what ain't broke.
Even though my thread is closed until further notice, my rom links are still available. I left them for a reason. I WILL be back soon, I have to let things settle a bit!
I have been getting pm about the n3 roms, there is a demand somewhat.
To include the Intl Lollipop, and the Tmo lollipop.
I am glad you will be back. I have run or tried every rom on my T-Mobile N3 and always come back to yours since they are smoother, no wifi calling problems and the best battery life. I cannot wait until you get your hands on 5.1 and 'vision' those. Thanks for all you do, it makes my phone still relevant and current! Just ignore people who whine and complain, they have nothing better to do!
Not much development over here, what is happening?

Hey guys,
I possibly may get a Note 2 and just have a quick question regarding the AOSP Roms here.
Looking through the threads, it seems like the AOSP Roms are doing very well and very stable.
Am I correct with this and is there anything I should know? I love AOSP Roms very much lol.
Also I didn't find the rooting thread, is it easy to root?
Thanks!!!!!
Is there anybody out there? lol
Rooting is easy If you use the Galaxy note 2 toolbox in the development thread. Not sure about the asop roms. not really a fan.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957155

Great, thanks!
I am mainly asking about AOSP Roms because that's the only thing I use lol.
cm11 and omnirom work great esp with xposed. No issues. However the update to kk is kind of a one way thing due to the changes in storage mount points.

Actually that statement is far from true. I bounce between 4.2.2, 4.3, 4.4.2 aosp and 4.1.2, 4.3 touchwiz all the time.
The thing is that you have to wipe your internal sdcard. Actually I wipe mine every time I flash any rom even if they are the same version. A clean flash will always give you the best results.
One place to check

you can easy flash backward and forward i havent had any issues going from 4.1.2 and 4.4.2 and i;m a flasholic
Ok, so I got a G3 (UK SIM-free). Comes with KK 4.4.2. I've Rooted, installed recovery (with modem/EFS support and backed up everything) and customised with Xposed modules. New lollipop ROM has been released but I'm not sure I can do the things I need or want to do with Xposed on KK with the Lollipop custom ROMs currently available, like Gravitybox's expanded desktop options to remove dock or DS battery saver's tasty battery life gains..
Trouble is most of the custom ROMs that look good Android Now or Chupa Chups etc. only list Lollipop ROMs now and I can't find the last KK versions of these custom ROMs for download.
So what do I do? Do I stick with my customised 4.4.2? Do I go for a custom Lollipop ROM and risk losing the look and feel I like? Does any one know where a list of the last (most stable?) 4.4.4 KK versions of the good custom ROMs would be?
KK + Xposed for the win. Don't look back.
LP is not impressive enough for me to give up my Xposed. Running 45-50 modules (yes, 45-50) I refuse to give up my Xposed.

There aren't actually any good custom 4.4.x roms for G3. They all were prematurely terminated bc of 5.0 release.
Well, most Xposed modifications aren't doable without it. Try to live without it for a week, see what it's like.

SlimKat is pretty much as good as KK is going to get for these phones. Not supported or updated anymore, but the best all-around ROM for the G3's wanting 4.4.x
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe CM 11 is still supported / updated via nightlies (even if fewer and farther between updates now with CM 12 up and running)? Unless things have changed in the past couple of weeks...

It is, but AFAIK there are no official builds for G3, so you'll have to compile it yourself. Plus, the device layer (HAL, etc) is incomplete, so there will be bugs.

Sorry, I probably should have said I am only considering modified stock custom ROMs. I didn't buy a phone with such a good camera to lose the majority of the function.

I never said that lolipop roms are good, i said that all G3 rom makers forgot about 4.4 and moved on to buggy future. Current 5.0 roms suck, they drain battery twice as fast, they lag, they have inferior memory management, etc...
We have to wait for good stock-based customs. At least until 20L and apktool 2.0 RC4 release. After that, we will have a good base and will be able to decompile and recompile any LG apk, which would allow for some serious mods.
Exposed until L is ironed out. The G3 camera is excellent. Xcam for me.
Don't leave home without it.
Long story short, custom ROM'S never be good as official ESPECIALLY for LG G3, you just need to understand that, for some people it's ok but for some don't. All you need is a root and MAYBE a custom kernel. PEACE.
I found lollipop is faster especially with chrome, yes, I gave up xposed but worth it
Sorry, I have been pretty dumb. So LG went from 4.4.2 to 5.0 with the G3 and there are no customised stock 4.4.4 ROMs? That being the case, I might as well stay on 4.4.2, get to debloating and sort out the annoying boot animation and sound.
Any prefered/recommended method for debloating? Anything else I should look into doing to my stock 4.4.2 ROM?
hi guys, my friend want me to reset his gnex, i had it long time ago, and for me the best and smoothest rom was stock 4.1.2. i flashed paranoid kitkat rom for him ,but is not as fast or stable as 4.1.2.

All ROMs - both official builds from Google and Custom ROMS from our talented developers here on XDA - have bugs. Just a fact of digital life!
If you want the most stable build available, you're probably best served by Google's official releases. Scroll down for the different GNex versions/links.
If you want Lollipop, check out the Android Development board. Plenty of great developers and ROMs to chose from there. I have a 5.1 ROM linked in my signature below, as well.

thanks for the answer. i will try this 5.1 rom. Some roms have little bugs, and others like lollipop roms make the device not good for daily driver, like the camera not saving pictures, green lines on video etc. i will try some roms and leave the most stable on his device, but i think i will flash 4.1.2 in the end.

Man this device was a pain for me today. after wiping to install 4.1.2 the device disconnected. and the usb connector i think is faulty. i had to flash every bit of rom in fastboot and a lot of errors. so i installed 4.0 rom because system.img was smaller and took a lot of time to copy the 300mb file and finally the device booted. i ota to 4.1.1 and i think i will ota manually to 4.1.2 because on device already appeared 4.2.2 ota. do you think is worth update all the way to 4.3? the device is smooth and i like the camera app better than 4.2 rom with that awful lag to rotate. do you think is better have an updated device or keep it in 4.1.2?
AOSP Lollipop 5.1- a wee better than stock is the best lollipop I could find yet. It is near-stock Android, and the overall performance is very good comparing it to the age of this device. The only bad thing I can say about this device isbthat the battery is draining faster(it might be an issue with my phone). If you are brave enough(such brave, much wow), you can try to overclock to 1.5 and the performance will improve by a lot

I am coming from the Note 2 and on that phone I used RWilcos Mostly Stock ROM which is basically just the stock ROM with small tweaks, root, bloatware removed etc.
It did not have any bugs that effected the functionality which I've seen with other ROMs (CM etc).
Does anyone have a recommendation for a 100% functional stable ROM almost that won't remove all the great Note features but still have the added features and performance, battery life , root etc of the custom ROMs?
Thanks for any help.

First of all, is the phone new and already updated to stock 5.1.1?
If so you have a locked bootloader (but still have options) .
If you have 5.0.1 or older version your in luck.

Best of the best by @tx_dbs_tx.
CM and ports require more attention whether it be developer, user or both.
Stock-like TW narrows it down for you. IMO, the two most active and capable developers in TW for Sprint Note 4 are tx_dbs_tx and freeza. They both have released very stock and also modified ROMs. Then there's OBAR that got a lot testing and users as well to make sure the bugs were squashed; still has support and also user community support.
If you don't want to get into kernel tweaking but want something with default and optimization out of the box- better than stock, consider freeza's Beastmode kernel or the newer Rage kernel that is integrated in Note 4our ROM (Don't be put off by the beta; it's stable but more customization is expected). Otherwise, take your pick and run the included kernel or choose another custom Android 5.1.1 kernel like AEL or Emotion for Sprint Note 4.
Personally, I prefer freeza's kernel. I've posted some battery stats in freeza's Beastmode kernel and Note 4our ROM threads.
I couldn't narrow it any further than this. You'd have to decide yourself or try as many as you like to make a definitive decision. Lots of choices and opinions vary; that's a good thing.

Which one of freeza's kernels gives better battery? Have you compared them to AEL? I'm using AEL 6.2,and while it has decent battery, it lags a bit.

IMO, they're equal on battery.
Rage may be slightly better on multitasking but there's extra scripts in play with the integrated ROM.
No lag but I've ran freeza kernels since Beastmode because they're close to stock with no setup to tweak.
Prior to that, I preferred stock kernel but thanks to Samsung, can't run it with root anymore. No recent compare to AEL or Emotion.

Thank you lordodin912! I just came from an LG G2 (broken screen) and wanted to get the lay of the land as well. I think for now I'll stick with stock rooted; that's what I did on my G2, but I will keep that rom in mind in case I feel like branching out.
I'm a little nervous about CM or other AOSP roms. I love the idea of them but there's always something broken. As you suggested it may be a better idea to stick with TW roms for now.

At least have a custom recovery (backup of clean install) then debloat (speed/battery life) and deodex (if you want to theme). And if all goes well make another backup. Then start using xposed.
The issues with CM/AOSP are mostly bluetooth related atm, camera was improved recently. CrDroid with synergy kernel or VRToxin are good ones to try. You can always look into dual booting, no need to be nervous....just make sure to back up your IMEI/EFS and have a copy of the stock firmware tar before starting anything.
Golden EYE i9505 rom also works for t-mobile. Been using it since last june and its pretty stable and decently fast. -http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2427629
