[Q] Sony Xperia S (LT26i) cannot flash new and old ROM - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hello guys!!!
Just want to seek your HELp regarding my Sony Xperia S.
Im running on custom ROM EXIZTNZ when my wife factory reset my phone.
Then it goes on boot loop and never restarted again.
I can flash ROM and KERNEL using flashtool but when restart it still on the same boot loop.
and the CWM 6.0.3.0 by Cray Doze is there running but when I do some factory reset it says read-only system file.
I've tried flashing the stock kernel and rom and all the possible options i saw here but non of them works.
I've tried flashing by sideload on recovery but still no hope...
Is there anyone who knows how to work on this problem, I just cant figure out a way to solve this...
Thanks for your help in advance...

Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum for more relevant answers.
Stand by
Good luck

Did You try flash stock firmware? Not just the kernel. But do note, it will delete Your stuff like messages and apps data, although not music, photos, videos etc.

i did try flashing the stock firmware.
The problems seems to be that the ROM is write protected and that even if it says successfully flash, when the phone starts the old firmware and recovery is still the one written on it... its always the same bootloop i am facing...

I'm still hoping someone here can help me fix this problem.
Flashtool doesn't seemto work even if I flash the stock ROM.
Seem's the device is read only and cannot write anything on it...
Thank you all in advance....

Ah apologies, must have missed Your notification. Given that You were already on Existenz, I can assume that You know a bit about flashing and stuff. Even then, can You try downloading the zip again and flashing it by wiping system, data, cache and dalvik cache and post the output of it here? This time instead of side load, use the push command as follows:
Code:
adb push path/to/ROM.zip /sdcard/
Also, can You post the way You are trying to flash the stock firmware using flashtool, like what options You tick, untick etc just so that we are on same page. The output of flashtool too, fro the moment You start flashtool.
And is You bootloader unlocked? If yes, then it would make this a lot simpler.

@Mirhawk thanks for taking time on this problem of mine.
below is the log file when using ADB PUSH:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C:\android>adb push C:\android/lt26i.zip /sdcard/
failed to copy 'C:\android/lt26i.zip' to '/sdcard/': Is a directory
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I even tried the other ADB commands like:
adb shell
recovery --wipe_data
but it just shows the android logo and nothing happens after even waiting for long hours,...
Even formatting via recovery by wipe data/factory reset, wipe dalvik cache, wipe cache partition doesn't work.
I always end up with the message,
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warning: wipe_block_device: Discard failed
I: Can't format unknown volume: /external_sd
I: Can't format unknown volume: /emmc
rm: can't remove '/cache/dalvik-cache: Read-only file system
rm: can't remove '/cache/dalvik-cache: No such file or directory
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
And below, see how flashtool succesfully flash the stock firmware but when I restart the phone it is still on the existenz and the same bootloop happens,..

If You read the output, it says that the copy operation was not successful. The command should be
Code:
adb push C:\android\lt26i.zip /sdcard/

I don't think that command works on TWRP. Also, what exactly do You mean by android logo? Can You attach a picture of it.

You need to flash the system block too, but that is not getting wiped due to read-only, right?

Repost the image, I think You didn't select it properly.
Edit: Connect Your phone in fastboot mode and try this command:
Code:
fastboot -w
It should wipe data.

If You read the output, it says that the copy operation was not successful. The command should be
Code:
adb push C:\android\lt26i.zip /sdcard/
I don't think that command works on TWRP. Also, what exactly do You mean by android logo? Can You attach a picture of it.

I did flash all the stock firmware for Lt26i from ginger bread, jelly bean and ICS... still nothing worked...
fastboot -w don't work too...
Guess I'll have to dispose off this phone now... :crying:

That is weird. Flashing JB firmware should have restored our phone.
Don't dispose the phone, You can try going to a repair person, they will definitely repair Your phone if You are not able to.

One last thing I want to discover about is this info from flashtool
13/048/2015 16:48:44 - INFO - No bootdelivery to send
13/048/2015 16:48:44 - INFO - Processing kernel.sin
This seems to be the problem why even if I flash any kind of ftf files nothing works... What do you think Sir?
Anyways, maybe I really need to send it to physical hardware flashing like jtag repair or anything..
Many Thanks!!!

[Q] Xperia S - Bricked in stock rom, unable to use flashtool to recover

My xperia S got bricked. I haven't changed anything from the stock. I need to recover it.
stock ROM
bootloader not unlocked.
red LED glows. battery doesn't charge.
every 10 mins, the phone tries to boot-up, but only black screen (with backlight). Once the battery drains, it goes back to red LED. charge stays for 2~3 mins.
Things I have tried.
1. Flashtool - Unable to get into flash mode.
2. Fastboot - Able to get into fastboot mode. BLUE LED comes up. But since its an UNROOTED phone, unable to flash the kernel. Flashtool logs says so.
3. I followed the detailed "{RECOVER SOFT-brick}[2012 XPERIA's]Recover ALL 2012 XPERIAs from SOFT-brick" tutorial. No luck.
What I want help with
1. Can I recover the phone through fastboot? Even if my phone is not rooted?
Hope someone can guide me.
I dont think you can use fastboot on locked BL, wish you luck

thank you. so fastboot without an unlocked BL is pretty much a dead end, I suppose. Would you recommend some other steps which I can try?

Exactly, there HAS to be a defect in the model. I remember that Chainfire found a defect in the Galaxy S3 which caused the phone to brick itself after 6 months. Samsung acknowledged the bug and fixed it. Eagerly hoping that someone does that for our phones too. Maybe DoomLord will come up with something..

About the GREEN LED while flashing, will it keep glowing throughout the flashing process?
Thanks mate, I was reading and trying that thread all day yesterday.

Don't worry, your phone is almost recovered!!
Just read this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36605155
It is a problem in loader.sin, so I suggest that you download this ftf - http://ni.0a0.in/files/3432_kznsa/LT26i_6.1.A.2.55_SG Generic (1257-6921).zip
Extract the zip to get the ftf. The led will remain green thorughtout the process.

There is good news and bad news.
Good news is successfully flashed new stock ROM into the xperia
Bad news is that it still not switching on.. It is stuck at "Black screen with backlight on, bootloops with RED LED". No screen at all.
Considering the chances, do you know how I can identify if its a faulty screen issue? Anyone came across that?

Yes, the flash was successful. Device should have booted normally now.
To be completly honest im quite noob, im not a dev or anything like that, i just tried to help with knolege asimilated from xda by reading threads,
Im hardly a litlle advanced user considering the average people which dont root and presonalizin their phones, and thats all,
Glad if i helped a bit, but better listen devs and see if they can resolve your trouble, good luck
I am convinced that this is a major flaw/defect in the Xperia S model. I am very much determined to find out why these bricking incidents are occuring.
Make sure u have ticked all wipe data, cache & all other unchecked. The phone will definitely boot

[Q] Fixing a LT26W, need some help to finish it

Hi,
It's been a while since I flashed/rooted a phone. I'm fixing my nephew's LT26w which got water damage. Got everything on the hardware side working (except the camera key, where the gasket is missing).
It appears that the bootloader is unlocked. I tried to update the device OTA to the .200 update which it automatically found. But I'm getting error messages that the update can't proceed because the device has modified software.
So I tried to get this device back to basic, and then update to the latests ROM, 211 (or 196). I got 200 working on it, but the wifi is just not turning on. It worked on the previous rom. So it's not a hardware failure.
I think that I'm missing a great part of knowledge on ROM compatibility on this device. So maybe there is a specific rom/region/type that can only work stable on this device.
Rooting didn't go successful. I tried the method where you start of with the docomo rom, ADB step 1, 4.0.4 rom, ADB step 2. But that one failed.
I got the flashtools drivers installed properly on Windows 8, and the device has the latest CWM installed. However I can't get CWM to recognize any ZIP files on my SD card.
The device is the following build: LT26 - 1266-3364 - Xperia acro S LT26w/Mobile Phone/TRI/Bla
Can somebody put me on the right track how to proceed?
Thank you!
a little update. After flashing to 200, the battery doesn't seem to hold enough charge and stays at 0%. I just retried flashing it with stock 211. Here's the log:

Now the device won't turn on for the moment. I guess battery depleted again. Showing only red led during charge. Is the flashtool log reliable?
already try hard reset??
hold power + vol up.. wait until 3 vibration..

Tried that already. But it seems that it was a combination of battery and charge failure. Somehow my phone couldn't charge more than 1% with .200 rom. Luckily 1% was just enough to flash the stock 211 rom. After that it depleted, and had to wait three hours again before getting some vital signs from the device. It is now 100% charged and working for the moment without any flaws. I hope the problem remains resolved.

Brick - All can be done but not starting.

Hello,
My phone is not powering.
It suddenly die. It was stock rom and not unlocked boot loader.
After this only red light but no power. I leave it on charger for the night but still same.
Other functions are working. I have managed to unlock boot loader. Flashed custom kernel.
Flashed stock rom back but no effect.
The phone is showing solid red light > After 30 minutes the light changes to green and phone goes to flash mode > After another 3-5min. no light at all > after 2-3 min solid red again. This is the loop.
I can access fastboot and flash mode, boot loader is unlocked.
I can access it only when USB is in. If the phone is disconnected fom PC only vol+ and power is responding. I can fell first vibration and 3 vibrations if keep holding buttons. But after that nothing happen.
It is disassembled at the moment and I can remove battery (I do not have to wait do drop charge).
Can you help, please?
I'm not good android user ( i'm new with acro s ) but have you tried to flash stock rom ?

A lot of things
I have pulled the battery a lot of times already.
I have unlocked boot loader.
Flashed custom kernel for JB with CWM and TWRP. Tried to charge the phone but only red light is ON.
Tried to flash original rom with flash tools and It was OK according to flash tool but still red light and not powering. If leaved on USB it will go in flash mode (green light for minute and then again red ligh).
If It is not connected to PC it is not responding to any keys.

FIXED it with Xperia S_6.1.A.2.45_WORLD.
Tried with this one before but didn't help.
LT26i_6.2.B.1.96_World
LT26i by Atokeno_6.2.B.0.200_SEMC
If some one is in same situation use Xperia S_6.1.A.2.45_WORLD.ftf.
Thanks

Connect phone when Flashtool asks, not before.
Also, questions must be posted in Q&A section, hence why Q&A is called Questions & Answers.
