Is there a way to unlock the bootloader on a v500? i only found a tool called loki but that just bypasses the bootloader.

Hi, i´ve LG-E975 version E97510d, european. I want to flash CWM in it. I bricked the phone once while i was trying to do it. Can i flash it safely via Freegee ?
I bricked it also with freegee....
i unlocked my F180K using freegee with no problems at all.
then I converted my F180K to E975, successfully unlocked bootloader again with freegee.
Sent from my LG Optimus G using xda app-developers app

can you elaborate more on that? I've have used an older version of freegee for unlocking (no google img on boot). should I root again? btw, the root process was ok. just asking because I'm thinking about flashing a new rom

Mako bootloader is simply said safer. You have more recovery ways if something goes wrong, so yes I suggest you to install freegee and flash mako bootloader (not sure but I think you can flash over your unlocked bootloader)
hi guys .I have a V500,and I had flashed the TWRP on my device. And then I flashed a custom rom such as cm11. But ,in my opinion ,many phones flash roms must unlock the bootloader first . and then flash the recovery etc. But why our v500 don't have to unlcok the bootloader ?
Does LG provide the offical bootloader unlock service? Thanks.

Lg make their devices with locked bootloaders in contrary to asus nexus for example who allow you very easily to unlock the bootloader. Developers use a hack named loki to bypass the bootloader and allow us to flash custom roms and recoveries. Thats why you see a message if you re on a custom rom everytime you open your tablet, it means that loki is working fine at that moment. If we had unlocked bootloaders we wouldnt see that message as there would be no need for loki.

Hey Guys,
quick question - where is the bootloader on this thing?
I just received my G Pad today - used towelroot and flashify to flash twrp and was able to get root and do a nandroid in twrp.
BUT:
while booting recovery via adb command (and via quick boot) it identifies as V510 and states boot success bootloader unlocked.
Yet i can't boot to recovery or bootloader via vol up/down and no bootloader via ad reboot bootloader or quick boot/termnial
where can i unlock that bootloader for sure? all i could find was the normal fastboot method with oem unlock but no fastboot for me.
Any help/hint is appreciated.
Cheers
Buster
PS: (edit)
I don't mean download mode - this works (LG Tool recognizes it)
Have a look over here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uo3YfszOPsQ
or
On the tablet start Flashify , in the menu press: reboot to recovery.

Are you sure it's a V510 (Google Play Edition)? What was the stock ROM? GPE or LGs ROM?

What I suspected. Sounds like the incorrect version of TWRP was installed. You'll need to go the the V500 thread, pinned to the top of the General section and follow the various instructions for installing Loki. You can't unlock your bootloader on the V500, per se. There is a work around. That's why you couldn't find what you were looking for.

Well that explains it then - if only the GPE edition is unlockable - it goes back to the seller. and LG gets a nice email about that.
also since I'm on 4.4.2 now the loki install fails so I'm out of luck anyways. (TWRP was the correct one btw on 4.2.2.)
thanks
cheers

How to root the xt1635-3? it's like xt1635-2?
And it is ok to flashing xt1635-2 firmware on xt1635-3, it's gonna brick the phone (xt1635-3)?
It's possible to hard-brick xt1635-3, right?
Unlcok your bootloader and its the same
