But i don t get it, what do i nead to change in build.prop file ? oo
will this run on none ICS roms, too?
I thought the minimum requirement is ICS to run Chrome Browser, so you may be able to install it, but can you run it?
and btw. I only had this problem at the beginning of the Chrome Beta, now I can just install it from the market so maybe the CM9-port from dk_zero-cool is supported know, or they just check the android-version and not if the devices may be supported.

What will I need to change?
Should I enter a model that is officially compatible to android 4?
What I don't get is, why you think you need chrome. Extremely overrated, in my opinion.
Yes, going with chrome is not a wise idea as per me as well!!
But Google chrome works directly from play store on ICS roms at least it's working for me, every bit of it!!

Yeah, along with dozens of other browsers, among which a few are less laggy and have more features than chrome.
Is there another argument?
The way I see it there must be none, my friend.

I like chrome and i think that this brwoser is better than any other browser
......
but
the only thing is, that chrome is to laggy on our desire

Dolphin HD 8.6 does not support Flash for Nexus 7

Just a heads up....
I know Dolphin HD + flash is a popular combo for many on this forum.
I just updated to latest HD and when first opened it tells you Flash is not supported in Android 4.1 since it will crash the browser and thus has been deactivated. Went to settings and could not reactivate it.
I had to do a restore of all of my apps and was able get back to Dolphin HD 8.5.1 which is the last version Flash was enabled.
Perhaps someone will hack 8.6 to enable Flash in future. For now, don't update to 8.6
I've switched to Aurora and AOSP Browser for now. No idea what Dolphin devs are thinking. Way to completely lose your user base.

Works great thanks
Starting from 4.1 Android does not support flash. Kind of a shame if you ask me. Hope HTML5 takes off for more interactive web content on mobile.

Android supports it just fine if you sideload the .apk. Play Store is what doesn't support Flash on 4.1.

Hashcode seems to have done a lot of the work for us all and has produced the Kernel that all the roms use. I have tried the CM10.1, CM10.2 and the PAC rom and although none are perfect, they are all usable as a daily ROM. I would say that the PAC rom seems the fastest to me, but as soon as you have TWRP installed it doesn't take long to install all of them at try them out. I have backups of all the 3 above so I can switch if I want.
On any of them it is worth installing "Ultimate Rotation Control" to force the orientation to what you prefer. Otherwise the rotation seems to break for some apps.
Good Luck.

Try Firefox OS on Android (apk)

I found something interesting for those who would like to try Firefox Os, but don't want to buy a Firefox os phone or flash custom Rom.
Keep in mind this app is in early stages, so don't expect for everything to work flawlessly. It can be laggy at times.
I am not a developer of this app, all credit goes to - People of Mozilla - who made this app for android users to enjoy.
If you like this please press thanks button.:good:
Download link is bellow, and i also provided the link to GSMArena Blog, to read more about this app.
NOTE: BE PATIENT ON FIRST LAUNCH, IT TAKES TIME TO LOAD APPS AND ALL, ALSO THIS APP USES ON SCREEN HOME/RECENTS BUTTON, I PERSONALLY USE MiPop, AND IF I PRESS BACK BUTTON IT CLOSES FIREFOX OS LAUCHER, SO DONT USE NATIVE BACK BUTTON ON HOMESCREEN.

In Settings/Apps search for app called ---Fennec fabrice--- that is the name for this app, don't search for Firefox Os.
Great found
New build is available, it's still version 1.0.0-PV-41.0a1 , it's just newer build from 2015-06-12. It is slightly better, at least now i can change wallpaper in settings...
But the thing is you need to uninstall the old version before you install the new one, otherwise you will have two Firefox Os launchers.

Firefox OS for GT-I8160

Hello,
I wanna put Firefox OS on my GT-I8160 and get rid of that ... Android. What do I do? I don't have no big experience with moddin my smartphone, other than puttin 4.1.2 ROM on it. Based on some other threads I reviewed before, being:
[Q] Firefox OS on Samsung Galaxy Ace 2x
[Q] [ROM][B2G][LWW] Firefox OS
[Q] Firefox OS
, there're some ROMs but buggy (no WiFi, camera, GPS etc.). Have these been fixed in the newest ROMs for GT-I8160. Please guide me thru.
NOTE: I want to GET RID of Android (that's why I'm doin it), not install no plug-ons like 'Firefox OS experience for your Android device'.
Thank you very much in advance!

Take these sources: https://github.com/mozilla-b2g
Add our device source tree and kernel, modify ramdisk, apply our STE patches (the ones from j-aosp should fit aosp base of firefox os).
Then compile it.
But with your experience in that it will be almost impossible.
Personally I wanted to port it before, but realized that I'm in lack of time, and I don't really need it.
Ahhh,wait.... Firefox os is fully based on android.... Only one difference: it uses HTML applications instead of java.
Yeah, I'd probably need some help with these. Do you have any info on if this particular ROM still has them problems i described previously? Where can I find these things you listed? Is it all in the phone's general? Anyway, can I ask for links just for the sake of makin sure I got THE right one?
Isn't FOS better on security aspect because of sandboxin?
Is there ANY alternative OS you'd recommend to me, especially speakin of security? I DO mind Google knowin all where I'm even though I think my GPS' s off, and knowin all my data etc. . Thank you for reply BTW!
@up
You should compile from sources every alternative OS. You can't take it from other phone and port it. All bugs are device-specific.
There is no tutorial. Only generic-device ho-to-build tutorial. For FOS it's https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Firefox_OS/Developing_Firefox_OS/Porting
You should also adapt all STE patches. No one will teach you. It's simply impossible.
Alright, I'll read these, and try to find more on my own as well. Is there ANY PARTICULAR OS you'd recommend to me?

Have you actually tried the custom ROMS for our device?
For a budget phone, it does have quite some options, and most are running well.
