Disabling root from developer settings doesn't remove root from your phone, so it is normal the app still detects root.

The option in the dev settings just disables root access for apps. It doesn't remove root. Think about it like you set your SuperSU to reject all requests of root access automatically. Apps that check for root do that by checking system files, i guess. So unless you completely wipe out your su binary, this app won't work. Xposed for lollipop is released, there is a chance that the module for hiding root from such apps could work. You may give it a chance.

Hi all. I have LG G Pad 10.1 and I want to do root to delete some system apps. If I root my tablet (with towelroot), in the future I cannot update my equipament true the official way (true "update center" app)? Is there any problem with that?
And is possible unroot with towelroot?
Thank you!

dunno...
If you want past experiences, I have been able to update my LG G Pad 8.3 LTE (Verizon) with root(and maintain root after)
BUT if you are deleting system apps, probably won't work... (The OTA might be sending and applying binary diffs to save space, instead of sending the entire ROM. OTA would fail if it's trying to patch a missing system app)
Root.
Freeze apps with Titanium Backup.
OTA comes through.
Defrost Apps.
Unroot. (Or try Voodoo root keeper)
Take OTA
(Voodoo Root Keeper copies binaries, unroots then after the OTA.
pushes Superuser Binaries back to the system, thus, enabling root again.)
(You will need to download Chainfires SU app from GP though)
Once you root your device it would show in the download mode that it's rooted which might prevent you from updating OTA. Not sure how it would work even if you unrooted. That's yet to be determined.
I have a LG G3 D855AR10c-722-310 / Compilation KVT49L / Android 4.4.2
It currently supports "stump" with my device?
is it safe? and if I reset to factory settings I can remove it completely?
I want to be sure before trying to root
thanks!

It does support your phone and it is safe to use. You can remove root w/o factory resetting but yes, it will remove it if you do.

If Stump didn't work, there are at least 2 other options. Just look through the Dev section.
Also, what msg did you get from Stump when trying to root? Did it say whether it was successful or not? I used the app a few time successfully already

After playing "grid" gave me a message that was ok and asked me to restart the device.
Restarting wanted to open "SuperSU" and tells me I'm not root
Join stump again and when I play GRID now says "unsupported device"
Search options but after several consultations tell me that for this device the method is stump

It is the one for your device, Stump supports 10c so it's kinda weird that it's not working. Do you have SuperSU and busybox installed?

Yeah, give it another shot. It should work if you're on 10c stock.

I'm not sure why it's saying it's unsupported but busybox is needed to get SuperSU to work.
Anyone successful rooted g3s(beat) d722k lollipop (android 5.0)?

Hi, i used LG One Click root and King root. Both work but when you reboot your device, the root access is removed. It might help but .............

New Method
Hi. Found that link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3129197
Seems it can be done manually, i'm going to try it and hope it works.
Kingroot
In case anyone still can't find a solution. I found only Kingroot would work with my device.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=12586
I previously used purpledrake fine on kitkat, but i tried that, lg oneclick, towel root and another one and couldn't find anything to give me a perm root.
The only downside is you need to use Kinguser, instead on superSU or superuser. I know there is a workaround that just didn't work for me.
Now I just have an Xposed incompatibility issue to look into...

Issue with lg g3 beat with lolip 5.0.2
Hello, i rooted with LG One Click (http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/lg-g3s-beat-d722-thread-t3110048). Root Checker says:
ROOT ACCESS: Device rooted
SUPER USER: SU FOUND
BUSY BOX: Busy box not installed
and path information, i guess for su
The issue is i can't do nothing else:
Installed supersu but don't update binaries.
And any app that ask for root access do not have it.
Preciate some help (newbi in rooting and so...).
Thank you

Unlock developer options by tapping on Build Number in settings. Find Root Access in developer options and grant for apps/adb.

Lol?
Why are you trying to root it? If you enabled root access for adb/apps in developer options that's it. You don't need any additional rooting. If you want you can install SuperSU and manage root access with it.
Lol thanks I didn't realize it could do that
*Update*
Make sure you go into Settings/App Manager and Disable all Verizons App except the Mobile login and My Verizon Mobile app.
Easy way to do is type in the search for vzw, disable all of vzw apps. Then search for Verizon and disable all of Verizons related app except the two mentioned.Verizons bloatware seem to be the problem that prevents us to get tempt root.
****
1.Download KingRoot app and install it
2.Run the app, it will show theres no root method availabe, still try to root it anyways.
3. As soon as the rooting starts(percentage page going up) hit the home key so the app will run in the background.eek:therwise rooting will not work.
4.Wait for 2 minutes then click on the KingApp again, it might take a few tries and voila! Temp root.
*Note*
1.make sure you have usb debugging enabled in Developer Option:good:
2.Bootloader is still locked so you will lose your root after any reboot.Sunshine is not sucessful in unlocking it rightnow.Maybe if we have a boot.img thats already unlocked we can flash it with Flashify app.:crying:
3. All root app works great, just cant modify any system files cause of temp root.
Htc 526 root?!?

Okay so the temp root can do what? Will root worthy apps detect the root and work up until a reboot??? if that's the case then the painfully annoying time spent to "re-temp root" the phone will be enough for me until KingRoot finds a way to successfully root the phone. :good:
If you get me temp root I can get perm root.
This temp root method isn't working for me
You have to keep doing it a few time.Im doing this even with the StageFright update. Once you get it the first time, everytime after that will work.It seems like Kingroot remember its exploit. Temp root will let you do things like running GameGuardian to cheat android games. Basically thats all I use tempt root for.
*Note*
Remember to run Kingroot rooting process in the backgroun only. Otherwise it will not work. As soon as you hit the root method, hit the homekey. Go use your phone as normal and then come back to the app, voila tempt root. It will ask you to fix the root binaries ,which means it works.
I also have full root but resets on reboot...
I'm not 100% sure but if the root resets after reboot then it's a temp root right?
Yeah. It's annoying.. I'd love to mod a little but it's been years since I dabbled. Full root would be fantastic. I've been looking for a solid solution that preferably doesn't require any help from a PC..
Hey Can u do and update on it because it's one work now in 2018
