I change ROMs on my LG G2....let's just say frequently. Ever since getting the 360 it seems like every time I switch to try something else I have to reset the watch. Is there any way to use something like TiBu with android wear and resync the watch once the new ROM has been flashed? I hate loosing all of my step data and going back through the initial Moto analysis every time.

Try backing up google play services and see what happens.
I wiped the data on it last night in a attempt to fix my Netflix on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and it completely cleared android wear forcing me to reset the watch
I tried using TiBu to backup bluetooth paired devices, it kept the pair but Android Wear app didn't like it and I had to reset my watch.
I found a copy of BeeSomething, that was pulled from the playstore. It allowed you to pair to multiple DIFFERENT devices....and by different, it had to be completely unique. Swapping roms didn't count (I did not go so far as to change mac address on my phone...was not feeling that determined to make it work).
So for now, I stay on cm12, use MultiBoot to install a different rom, and disregard my moto360...and in that, I have only lasted about 5 minutes after setting up a new rom, I keep going back to cm12.
But dirty flashing does not affect the watch data Which made me very happy.

Hey, i have a short question. I will be getting a new android phone in 6 monyths, but I can get the moto 360 in around 1.5 month. I was wondering, can i even setup the watch, and atleast check the time, track heart, set a stopwatch and such without a android phone.
So what can it do without a android wear phone, and can I even set it up?
I have an iphone now and get a new phone, android in april 2015.
Greetings, Mike.
I think you need to have an android to set it up initially. I remember mine saying install android wear app on my android. Once it's setup you can use it without a phone though. Just put it in airplane mode (save a little battery)
In all honesty, by the time you're ready to get a new phone they will probably be on the Moto 360 version 3. So I'd just hang in there in the mean time. Why get a new phone to pair to what will essentially be last years tech?
I understand that maybe at that time a new version will be out (probably not but oh well)
But there is a reason I really need it, and I only need to know if I can start it without a android phone, for the time beign watching the time is enough.

Your best bet would be to install Android Wear on a friend's or a store's phone, pair it and let it do the factory update. Then it "should" be okay on its own until you get your own phone.
I'm currently in the same boat as you (iPhone user upgrading to android soon). You do need access to an android device to do the initial set up, but after that an android device isn't necessary. I can check the time, check heart rate, track steps, and set timers/alarms without an android phone.
I used a friend's android tablet to get past the initial set up and to do a system update. I suggest you do the same if you can't wait.
Does anyone know where the android wear apps live on the phone?
I have apps that i have deleted from gs5 that are still somehow syncing to my moto360. I've reset the 360, and they go away for a bit, but then they come back.
If i reset my watch and connect to my nexus 5, they don't come back. This is preventing me from getting the new watch faces from moto connect, and from removing apps i no longer want. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling both moto connect and the android wear app in all permutations. I'm at a loss now for what to do.
I don't want to reset my gs5 (since it's my work phone and a pain to set up).
Thanks for any help!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I've been looking for something like this for a while now. Why they don't make this information more publicly available baffles me.
You've just saved me from restoring my phone!

Glad it worked out! Another handy tip, if your watch ever *locks up* press the button and hold it down for 30 seconds. Hopefully they will get the different apps playing nice with each other soon. :fingers-crossed:
Thankfully i've never had the lock up. The old apps thing was driving me mad. I had a wear app called beelink installed that i later removed. I had tried everything to remove it, but it just wouldn't go away! I even through the watch into dev mode, adb shelled in, uninstalled it manually, and searched everywhere i could to find how it kept coming back. With the steps in the link, the one that finally worked was the clearing all data for google play services.
UPDATE: It just started working correctly about a half hour after doing all this. If you will tell me how to delete this thread, I will, I cannot find a delete button anywhere.
Hello everyone,
I have scoured the internet and this forum but have not seen anyone else with a similar problem. I like to think I'm pretty tech savvy, but I could just not be using the damn thing correctly. I just purchased a Moto 360, and I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. All my OS are up to date. I have Motorola Connect and the Android Wear app installed. I still cannot get 3rd party apps to appear on my watch. I contacted Motorola and they suggested clearing my system cache (which I didn't think would help but did anyway).
I found a thread on here about the new watch faces not appearing, so I followed the instructions there to completely reset my watch and phone so that everything was back to default. I've reset the watch back to factory, I removed all Android Wear apps from my phone, I even removed AdBlock Plus and everything related to the Samsung Fit that I had just in case they were causing problems. I then reinstalled the Motorola Connect and Android Wear apps, and had the Android Wear look for the watch as a new device.
I still cannot get any apps to appear on the watch, and I bought this specifically so I could use Viper's new SmartsStart 4.0 app when they release it.
Am I just doing something wrong, is it defective, or is there something else?
Thanks in advance.

Don't delete! I just got a Moto360 and have the same problem. Thank you for putting the UPDATE, I'll wait awhile and see if the 3rd apps I downloaded transfer to the watch. I've already tried to sync it and I've tried restarting the watch.
Just got this watch. I had the Moto 360 before, it worked fine.
This doesn't want to stay connected. I have to reset the watch, uninstall Android Wear and re-install it, then it'll connect once. After that, it disconnects and won't connect again. So notifications, syncing, weather, etc don't work.
Looking at my phone in Android Wear it just says Connecting.... on the watch, it says disconnected. Going into Bluetooth settings doesn't do a damn thing either.
Try Bluetooth Auto Connect from Playstore, it´s working for me on a Note3 with Omega Rom
Thanks for the reply. I managed to sort it out... I missed the step to click "trust device" during the initial set up. I didn't realize that was a necessary step for the watch to stay connected. You'd think it'd just do it automatically.
I don´t know, if it´s automatic, but i have the function with klicking on "trust device", no change, only the "Blutetoot Auto Connect" app is working.
This piece of crap is doing it again. Once its been disconnected, it won't connect again without complelety startinh over and resetting everything.
I'll check out that app.
You know, people can bash apple all they want, but at least their **** actually works properly.
Hasn't happened in a while, but if mine won't connect I just go to the android wear app and disconnect the Zenwatch then connect again. Works every time...
Tried that, many times.. never works. That app doesn't work either.
Well this is a serious problem I've had the watch for about six weeks now it took awhile to get initial set up to begin with I was at the point to return it on the first day , then I don't know how but it just paired and started working fine , I was very happy until today turned the watch on it wasn't paired and I've literally been trying for hours to get this chit to connect with no luck I've reset it ,tried the app mentioned above no luck at this point I give up I bough it at best buy but I'm past the return period I'm going to try and find some customer service rep ,at this point I give up trying to get the watch to work,if anyone knows of a customer service phone number I would greatly appreciate it , or if anyone here has any helpful information , ,I'm pretty tech wavy. But I surrender at this point what a shame I really liked the watch but the aggravation factor is to much ,sorry for the.long rant but there's no where else to vent or look for help maybe together as a group we can find some answers again any help would be greatly appreciated......

Thank's for replying but yes I've tried everything under the sun , just got home from work , going to see if I can't find a customer service number , if I can't get it resolved by the weekend I might as well throw 200$ in the Trash because That's where it's Going ....................:crying:
Go to settings / apps on your phone. Find google play services under running apps. See if device connection service is running. If not try rebooting your phone then the watch in that order and try to pair. You could also check if there is an update for play services and update if there is.

Same issue here, boxing up my ZenWatch and bringing it back to Best Buy today. Still within the 15 days. I really like the watch but these random disconnects are a killer. Most of the time it auto-reconnects but every now and then I have to reboot everything--which is kinda ridiculous if I'm out running.
At least I'll have a different watch with everything else the same for comparison sake and report back.
Have you tried uninstalling zenwatch manager? Mine started disconnecting after the last update, and uninstalling seems to have fixed my issue

I had the same problem I think the update from google services broke it.
unpair the watch from your phone then factory reset the watch and this is IMPORTANT pair your watch using "android wear" NOT the Bluetooth from the system phone
after I paired my watch using Android Wear now the watch stay connected and reconnect normally

After half a day working this seems to be the solution, thanks. :good:
Bad luck: two days later same problem persists (frequently disconnecting)
I am getting pretty tired of my Zenwatch not staying connected either. $200 is a lot of money for a watch that doesn't work right. It's had three or four updates since I bought it and it still sucks, should have sent it back the first week.
The Google nag to enable Google Now in the Android Wear screen is also a sore spot with me, if I wanted it enabled it would be enabled.
This whole "wearables" thing seems to be a poorly executed fad more than anything else, one that I'll be avoiding from here on out.
why would you have a watch that relies so heavily on google now and not enable it? connection has been just fine for me no several phones and software versions since I got it in January

Same here. I mean, it has disconnected maybe 3 times since I got it in November, but it hasn't been a big issue. Toggling BT on the phone reconnected it. I also agree with you about Google Now. It's central to how Wear works. Using a Wear device without Now would be like buying a car and trying to drive it without starting the engine.

You don't need Google now to benefit from owning this watch.
1. I like the ability to change watch faces and create my own with Watchmaker.
2. I can answer or dismiss a call from the watch.
3. Text and email notifications.
That's all I care about, anything else is an unnecessary distraction.
When we get it, will "Smart Swich" do the job, Kies doesn't seem to want to back me up.
Perhaps best just to start clean again?
When I first set up my Note 7 I used smart switch and within a week I did a factory reset because of some insane battery drain. I'm paranoid of that happening again and will probably just set it up, and load everything from the cloud after initial set-up completes.
So it's a cloud restore vs. a clean install. Just planning for the best way to go when I get my replacement.
Most of my stuff is already on SD card, when I moved my files from previous phone, so it's just settings and installed programs, so I may take few screen shots to help in the future settings, maybe do back up to cloud, but probably do manual restore. Google has option, where any new phone will have all your programs automatically reinstalled, but my kids have couple tablets registered on my account and I don't want their games on my phone (already been there). If I figure how to manually mark programs for reinstall, I may use that. Either way no big deal.

When restoring the phone there should be an option for you to see & select apps you want to install on the new device.
You can also go to the play store, under my apps and remove ones you don't want associated with your account any longer, and I believe they'd disappear from the list of apps being installed on the new device.
I'm debating whether to do a clean install and not use the cloud or any other restore option. Don't want to bring in any "cruft" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cruft
That was the reason I opted to manually download the apps once setup was completed. I was trying to limit any "cruft" myself and my phone ran a lot better the second time around. Probably had nothing to do with the fact that I did it this way hahaha

Sorry, I should have said easier, you're right you can delete them etc. but there has to be 400 to 500 of them on my account, probably want maybe 40-50 for now, so probably easier to manually download 50 than delete 350 to 450 LOL.
I will backup to Samsung cloud, but I have never used Samsung cloud before so I don't know how the reinstall works on the new device. In all my past devices I rooted them first thing after activating then used titanium and installed all my apps AND data (the data is the hard part to migrate) to my new device. This time I came from a Dev edition Note 4, rooted, but with no root (at the time) on the N7 I opted to try Helium. Helium was able to migrate almost (there were a few that didn't) all my apps and data from my N4, to my dropbox, then on my N7 I installed the apps and data from my dropbox using Helium. I let the texts and that kind of data stay with my N4 - I have probably 50K of various texts over the almost 2 years I had my N4. Didn't want all of that migrated over, started fresh on the N7. So I will be using Helium again. It will take probably a day to get things set up on my new N7 like it is on this current N7. Yes, it's a PITA, but there really isn't much choice. I could keep this N7, and according to samsungs website where you can check the IMEI to see if your phone is one of the effected ones with a battery issue, mine is not, but still I think I should do the swap if it is available. I am concerned if I don't that Verizon and/or Samsung could say they will no longer warranty or cover the phone since I didn't swap it out. Right now Verizon has no N7's to swap to (I called them last night, they don't have any), so I will wait until they do then switch over to the new N7 then.
So I used Helium when I moved from my last phone to my Note 7. It took me about a week and a half after that to get everything the way I want it and I rather not go through that again. When I use Helium it shows that about 1/3 of my programs can not have their data backed up, things like: skype, paypal, Nova Launcher, Samsung Pay, etc. I know if I root the phone I can use Titanium backup to do a full backup of all the apps and data but I don't want to risk putting a Sprint Rom on my phone and loosing everything and I don't I like loosing the ability to use some of the programs that won't work if the phone is rooted (like Samung Pay).
Is there an alternative program that will grab all these programs and their settings or is root my only option? And is there a temporary root option as I would only need it for one session on each phone (one to back up and once to restore)? I know this isn't the forum for the root question but it all goes together with getting my phone mirrored to my new one when it comes in.
