Hi,
I have had the Moto 360 for about a month but am unable to see my step and heart data on my phone. I have Android Fit installed and selected in Android Wear but it does not seem to pull my steps from my watch. I would love to get it all in the app called "Instant" but would settle for anything that would just show my step and heart history. I want to be able to look back a month at a time etc. I would think this is an easy thing to get as everyone would want it but I don't seem to have it setup correctly yet.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
P.S. my sig is out of date, I now have a Galaxy S4.

No one has this figured out yet? If none of you are trying to use this as a fitness tracker what on earth are you using it for???!

Hey, i have a short question. I will be getting a new android phone in 6 monyths, but I can get the moto 360 in around 1.5 month. I was wondering, can i even setup the watch, and atleast check the time, track heart, set a stopwatch and such without a android phone.
So what can it do without a android wear phone, and can I even set it up?
I have an iphone now and get a new phone, android in april 2015.
Greetings, Mike.
I think you need to have an android to set it up initially. I remember mine saying install android wear app on my android. Once it's setup you can use it without a phone though. Just put it in airplane mode (save a little battery)
In all honesty, by the time you're ready to get a new phone they will probably be on the Moto 360 version 3. So I'd just hang in there in the mean time. Why get a new phone to pair to what will essentially be last years tech?
I understand that maybe at that time a new version will be out (probably not but oh well)
But there is a reason I really need it, and I only need to know if I can start it without a android phone, for the time beign watching the time is enough.

Your best bet would be to install Android Wear on a friend's or a store's phone, pair it and let it do the factory update. Then it "should" be okay on its own until you get your own phone.
I'm currently in the same boat as you (iPhone user upgrading to android soon). You do need access to an android device to do the initial set up, but after that an android device isn't necessary. I can check the time, check heart rate, track steps, and set timers/alarms without an android phone.
I used a friend's android tablet to get past the initial set up and to do a system update. I suggest you do the same if you can't wait.
Does anyone know where the android wear apps live on the phone?
I have apps that i have deleted from gs5 that are still somehow syncing to my moto360. I've reset the 360, and they go away for a bit, but then they come back.
If i reset my watch and connect to my nexus 5, they don't come back. This is preventing me from getting the new watch faces from moto connect, and from removing apps i no longer want. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling both moto connect and the android wear app in all permutations. I'm at a loss now for what to do.
I don't want to reset my gs5 (since it's my work phone and a pain to set up).
Thanks for any help!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I've been looking for something like this for a while now. Why they don't make this information more publicly available baffles me.
You've just saved me from restoring my phone!

Glad it worked out! Another handy tip, if your watch ever *locks up* press the button and hold it down for 30 seconds. Hopefully they will get the different apps playing nice with each other soon. :fingers-crossed:
Thankfully i've never had the lock up. The old apps thing was driving me mad. I had a wear app called beelink installed that i later removed. I had tried everything to remove it, but it just wouldn't go away! I even through the watch into dev mode, adb shelled in, uninstalled it manually, and searched everywhere i could to find how it kept coming back. With the steps in the link, the one that finally worked was the clearing all data for google play services.
I installed Google Fit on my Zenwatch and went aboard for a week and left my Zenwatch home. I noticed after I came back that there are data for that week on my handphone!
Is it normal? Where did the data come from? are they correct?
p.s. the Zenwatch was power off during that week.

Fit will also gather data from your phone. If you were using it, that's where the data is from.

You mean my phone can track my steps, etc. even I am not wearing my watch? I doubt it.

Yes, it uses the sensors in the phone. It was available for the phone quite a while before the first Wear devices were available.

Thanks for your reply but I notice Wellness doesn't keep track during that week!

Wellness is an Asus app. Earlier you said you used Google Fit. Google Fit can use the sensors in the phone.

I use both.
The Wellness app for the smartphone is, as said above, an Asus app. It does NOT count steps on the phone, but only syncs with the watch and therefore only shows you the steps that the watch measured.
Google Fit on the other hand was primarily designed for phones and uses its sensors to gather steps and other stuff. In addition, Google Fit can also gather the data from Wear Smartwatches (and other 3rd party wearable devices). In the Android Wear app on your phone you should find a setting where you can configure which app should be used on the watch for steps and heart rate. If you select "Wellness" there, Google Fit will not receive any data from the watch, only the Wellness app will. If you select "Google Fit", it's vice versa.
Usually it makes more sense to use Google Fit, because when you do, your steps will be counted if you have EITHER your watch OR your phone with you. And Google Fit is smart enough to not double-count the steps if you carry both. With Wellness on the other hand, you have to wear the watch in order to count your steps.

Thanks for your information.
The Fit app on my watch starts malfunctioning this week, whenever I try getting my heart rate, it shows the rate the moment I put my fingers on the watch! I keep trying and even restart the watch but the problem still exists.
What should I do?

Hello
My moto 360 when not connected to my phone counts very well my steps (I can see it from the google fit watch face) but when it reconnects to my phone, google fit app erases data from my watch and only "believes" the steps count from my phone....
So when I do sport (without my phone of course) my steps are not taken into account which is really annoying!
Do you know how we can force google fit to use my watch data? Moto body steps count seems to be good but I can't see the counts information on my phone...
Am I the only one in this situation?
Thanks
Unfortunately you're experience is not isolated and there is no way to fix it yourself. It seems to have gotten worse over the past two Google Fit updates. At this point you'll need to wait for Google to fix the issue.
this has been the case ever since
personally, i've switched to using UP for my step tracking... give it a try, you might like it
Hi all,
I couldn't find a similar topic in the SW3 forum, so apologies if this is a duplicate. I'm finding my SW 3 (running 5.1.1) will not count my steps on its own, only when I have my phone with me. I only got the watch a couple weeks ago, so not sure if it is a problem with the 5.1.1 update. As far as I understand, the watch should be able to count the steps on its own and then sync with my phone later...is this not correct? I know it has GPS to track runs with Endomondo, but I thought it had its own pedometer as well.
If this is indeed supposed to work, any ideas to fix it?
Welcome to the nightmare that is google fit. It's just awful and broken. Sync always screws up between the watch and the phone. It really is a joke. I honestly don't understand how google can allow something like this to happen. I use the jawbone up app, only version 4.4 because the latest update broke android wear compatibility. Works perfectly. I'll just wait till google get their act together. Hopefully it'll be soon.

Sync doesnt work properly with messages either if you dismiss it on the watch it still shows on the phone and tablet.

Oh, darn. I really wanted this watch for the fitness features. Bummer that one doesn't work.
edit: So I'm doing some testing and I suppose it really is Fit not syncing. Present my watch indicator for steps (Pujie Black, that is supposed to be connected to Fit) says 2282. Google Fit (app on watch and phone) says 2223. I just left my phone and walked around the office a bit. Indicator didn't change from 2282, but when I opened the Fit app on my watch I saw it quickly change from 2223 to 2249 and then back to 2223. Phone also says 2223. That is incredibly frustrating.

permissions off?
try going into the settings and then permissions, i found that in the permissions menu google fit did not have permission to access the sensors, this could possibly be the problem
