Bone Stock white screen - Verizon HTC One (M7)

Hello everyone
My friend's M7 is bone stock and turns on normal and the lock screen shows up but once the screen is swiped it freezes. The htc logo shows up and the phone can only be turned off. I can boot bootloader and recovery and everything but I do not know what I have to do to get the phone working again. I have no idea what version of Android he had or the system version. The posts I have read to get to stock talk require S-Off or bootloader unlocked which do not help.
Thanks in advance!

First thing, if your friend has pictures and music backed up, would be wipe dalvik and cache from recovery.
Try to boot up. If that no work, then factory reset from recovery.
This pretty much wipes it, but may be what's needed to get it to boot up.

[Q] Dinc stuck on white "htc Incredible" screen

I installed a new rom that I ended up not liking as much as I thought I would so I restored to the nandroid backup I had previously made. Now when I turn the phone on it gets stuck at the white "htc Incredible" screen. I have pulled the battery and can get into recovery but when I try to turn it on normally it does not work. Anybody know how I can fix this?
Go into recovery, which you say you can do, and try your nandroid restore again. If that fails, it may be a corrupt nandroid. Worst case, wipe clean and flash the previous ROM that you know works and rebuild your apps and data.

Thank you very much. I could not restore to the backup I had made and I never thought to just go back to the rom I had on the SD card. Thank you.
Not trying to threadjack here but I have mostly the same problem so I thought I would just add it here. I was flashed Ruby 2.02 ROM and was just setting things up when my phone rebooted it would not get past the htc incredible splash screen so I read to pull the battery and try to reboot into recovery. When I tried to reboot into recovery my phone just vibrated 3 times then went dead. Did my phone just get bricked or what? ANY help would be awesome!

Can you still get to recovery now? If so, you are probably ok.
I am able to get into recovery but if I try to reboot from there it is still stuck at the splash screen. I think my sd card is not working right now, so I am not able to flash anything. Is my only solution a factory reset?

You need to boot recovery, wipe and flash a known working rom and start completely over. You really need to get a working card.
Well I flashed one and the problem didn't change so I am now flashing an older one of a different ROM that I hope will work.

Stuck on Google Screen after JB Update

Hi,
I've attempted the JB update
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737899..
fastboot flash boot boot.img etc.. which said all was well..
But now find that my phone will not boot up, doesn't get past the Google and unlock screen.
I've tried all combinations of volume buttons, I can get to the fasboot menu where I can choose either Recovery Mode, Power Off, Start or Restart bootloader.
None of these appear to do anything, recovery goes to the google a screen followed by an Android on it's back with an exclamation mark over it.. then goes to the Google and unlocked icon screen and stays there...
I fear my phone is bricked... Please help..

1.) Your phone is far from bricked at all. You have access to the boot loader (i.e. the screen with the options). The recovery you're seeing is stock recovery. All you need to do is go into boot loader and fastboot flash recovername (CWM) and you will have your custom recovery back to wipe data and reinstall a rom or restore a nandroid backup
Mine is doing the same thing, weird thing is, it was working since yesterday on jellybean, it just randomly froze this morning and and now won't boot..
im currently at work so i don't have admin rights to do a fastboot flash..
any idea why it would randomly stop working when i havn't flashed anything on it besides the jb rom?
Sorted..
Thanks for the comments.. yeah i was over-reacting a bit there..
I downloaded the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit, got a stock rom form gopogle, flashed it.. back to normal, well, it will be after i restore the CWM backup i took.. phew..
Thanks again
Ian.
Still stuck
I'm also stuck in the same situation(google with the unlock screen). I fear I'm a little more stuck. I also can see the recovery/restartbootloader screen. However, everything I try still comes back to that same google screen and gets hung up. Need some help!
this has happened twice today and i think it from using volume+

Boot into recovery, wipe cache, Reboot

[Q] HTC Desire HD boots but black screen afterwards

So I have a rooted HTC desire HD with Jellytime on it. All was working great till recently when it would shut down by itself. Today after I wanted to test a new boot screen from Rom toolkit I restarted it and while the boot screen worked great after it finished I see a black screen (backlit so I know its on). I tried going to the bootloader but after I try to go to wipe cache for example it restarts by itself and it gets stuck after the boot screen... Any ideas?
ok an update seems that if I go to the recovery via down button and power it lets me do actions. All this time I went to recovery mode when phone was shut down and plugged into a power source. I did a wipe cache and now it says android is upgrading and now it finished saying starting apps. Hope it didnt get stuck there because it keeps doin the cycle animation but doesn't do anything else.. I ll leave it be for a bit like this... :/ Had to restart it by removing the battery after 20 minutes... same problem as before still...
another update... just before it goes to a black screen when the boot screen finishes an orange light appears just briefly (where the green light appears when it charges)
Wipe everything (system data cache) and install a stock-ish ROM. What happens?

I flashed the rom again and wiped data and all seem to be ok now. I ll update this because I saw many people have similar problems... thanks in advance for any help!
Have the same problem.
I bought this with the problem that it keeps rebooting all the time.
I unlock the bootloader with htcdev, root with Easy Ace Tool, flashed the new cyanogenmod 11,
but did the same .
At least 3-4 rebooting before open normally.
I said that it must be ROM issue and flashed the KK-LegacyCarbon-4.4.
Did the things should be...flash the ROM and then the boo.img separately.
Now i have black screen and the only screen i am able to get is bootloader and the recovery 4EXT.
I reflased cyanogenmod back but nothing happened, any thoughts???

Strange problem Screen goes blank please help me its really serious please

Please guys help me i have flashed this cm 11 after that now my whs boot successfully but blank screen is showing.
all functions are working like call messages etc but displaying only blank screen.
i have also flashed latest RUU but nothing happend except boot loop as phone boot to HTC logo screen and then blank screen comes and phone reboots itself.
so i again flashed CWM and again CM11 rom now my whs boot completely but again blank screen is showing. On other stock ROMs phone goes reboot loop NOT boot loop like stuck on HTC logo and looping that logo etc.
My CWM is working
bootloader is locked but ship s-off
hboot is latest
radio is 7.57.39.10M
in bootloader or CWM phone's display works well.
Pease help me sorry for bad English
You should have done a backup in CWM before flashing. All I can humbily recommend is that you try wiping data, cache, dalvik cache and make a clean install. If, as you said, you screen works well, any 'safe' (stable') ROM should work. Otherwise, it's a hardware problem.

Method 1:
Wipe everything except for SDCard.
Flash latest Stock ROM.
Wipe everything again.
Reboot.
Method 2:
Wipe everything except for SDCard.
Install a CM10.1 ROM.
Wipe cache/dalvik-cache.
Reboot.
Nothing happened

If the bootloader shows ****LOCKED****, then you don't need to flash the RUU just continue to step one
nothing happened

i unlocked bootloader and tried what you mentioned but all in vain.
stock rom always stuck on bootloop and custom rom shows nothing after booting, even on droidScreen application its shows blank screen. that mean hardware is fully working but nothing is showing.
i have tried all the recoveries given in forum and Stock recoveries also but same problem.
Is there any solution...???

Take a photo of the bootloader and if possible a video of what happens when you flash and then open a custom recovery

Boot Loop - Help

Just got my HTC One M9 (Canadian on Bell today).
I go home to start getting all my apps and data back on and the phone reboots itself, half way through the reboot, it reboots all over again. This just keeps going on creating a massive bootloop.
I can get into flashboot mode. But none of the options in there seem to help.
I've tried flashing the RUU but am S-ON so that was no good.
I've tried everything I can think of and got nowhere.
Any help is greatly appreacited
Have you tried going into recovery and doing a factory reset?
Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
The phone won't even boot into recovery. Just keeps boot looping when selecting that too.

if you have a costume recovery hold Volume UP and DOWN and POWER button at the same time, it should take you to the boot loader there boot to recovery
No custom recovery.
Phone is completely stock.

maybe the power button is stuck or something any updates?
Thought about that idea.
Brought it back to bell and traded it for another. No issues yet...
