[Q] ZVA, CWM, Boot-loop - Sprint LG G2

I'm kind of at a loss and there is a lot of things going on with this phone. So in a vain attempt to fix the dead zone screen by flashing to stock here is the sequence of things that happened:
1) Had phone, rooted, CloudyG3 2.1, T-Mobile unlocked and working
2) TOT-flashed LS980ZVA rom (I really wish I hadn't in hindsight and just does LS980ZV8)
3) Rooted with iosroot
4) Installed TWRM AND CWM (...I interpreted / as and and misread and or in another guide, newbie mistakes honestly). Ended up with CWM though
5) Tried to install CM11 TMobile but resulted in bootloop because I didn't downflash to V7/V8. No recovery
So now I'm left with CWM and ZVA. No download mode to reflash stock. Am I completely screwed? Can I find a recovery ROM and flash it with CWM? Will ZVA let me flash a different version of Cyanogenmod?

Rooting LG P930 Nitro Bell/AT&T ICS

I have just received my phone back from LG repair, they fixed it from being hard bricked. I have by now experienced all the error messages on the P930 and used all the solutions. The phone was stock Bell ICS, I rooted with TPSparkyRoot.bat installed CWM Recovery from Rom Manager tried to boot into cwm recovery and got security error long time no see error then just security error. was soft bricked from there only download mode was available. so I unbricked, flashed the v10f_00.kdz Korean rom which put me in android 2.3 or something and rooted with the root.bat no problem using the nitro easy unbrick solution. I changed it to english but my wifi and data didnt work to download the CWM Recovery from Rom Manager so I flashed the P930_UDT_v18f_04112012.exe. which put me in Android 4.0.3 Then I had to root using TPSParkyRoot.bat. I downloaded the CWM Recovery from Rom Manager but when I try to boot into recovery it soft bricks again and I have to go through this whole process again.
How do I get CWM Recovery to work so I can use a custom Rom, How do I flash to HO!NO V18f rom? Do I need to somehow flash CWM Recovery from the v10f_00.kdz rom, if so how do I do so? I have recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.5-p930.img onn my computer is this of any use?
I am trying to flash over to the cm-10.0.0-p930.zip I am currently in P930_UDT_v18f_04112012.exe rooted with TPSparkyRoot.bat. Can someone step by step this for me I just cant figure it out.
Follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044645
Since you already have V18f installed and rooted, you can skip to step 9 and start from there.
Also, if you prefer, you can stop after step 17 and use Rom Manager to install CWM from there.

[Q] 2 recoveries on 1 phone?

Hi everyone,
I just got my G Pro a couple days ago. I've been trying to read up as much as I can on the phone. I bought the phone used. It's on the V10k firmware (value pack or whatever they call it) and it was rooted, but I never did check to see if it had a custom recovery installed. Now, I installed FreeGee from the Play Store and had it flash TWRP 2.6.1. Installed successfully. But, when I reboot the phone, and I push a button to enter recovery mode, it takes me to CWM 6.0.2.8 by 985hPaKick v1. To top it off, if I "reboot recovery" from within CWM, or if I use "adb reboot recovery," it'll take me to TWRP. Anybody have a clue what's happening, or is this normal and I'm just not hip to it yet? I would've figured that if CWM was on here originally and I didn't know it, flashing TWRP would've just overwritten CWM. I'd like to be able to flash custom ROMs and such but I've never had this occur to me with an Android before, and I'm not trying to brick this thing. Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Im new to the LG world also. I dont know how this happened but if you flash back to stock via LG flash tool then reroot. You can Freegee a recovery over the stock one just reflashed. When I flashed the TWRP recovery the touch screen was dead(when in recovery mode) so I reflahed CWM over it with Freegee and it worked. Hope this helps
Thanks bud, I'll give it a try.

So I was flashing a recovery via flashtool on Linux and messed up.

So in attempting to flash touch TWRP on my phone running .244 I accidentally flashed recovery instead of boot like the thread states, as I had been using another thread to make sure I used the correct commands and used recovery. I then flashed it via boot like I'm supposed to when I realised. It now bootloops after getting to "Botting DoomKernel by DoomLord". I can enter recovery and bootloader just fine, but I can't boot into android. I recently had wiped my phone as I was having issues on a custom ROM and am back on pure stock, but am rooted. I don't have a backup just yet as I had been at my girlfriends house to got on to stock, and was actually flashing TWRP to do a NANDroid. What are my options?
What want happen if you flash only the kernel again? I dont know what it happens but I would try it if I had this problem xd
Thanks so much gripfly, I don't know why the thought never occurred to me. Phone is now fixed.

Stuck on Samsung's Galaxy Note Logo

Hello, I'm having trouble trying to install a custom rom into this device. The thing is that I had the stock 4.4.2 rom, then I managed to root it, and then I also installed TWPR so I could install the custom rom afterwards, well it turns out that I ran into trouble when I realized that after flashing the custom rom I couldn't get it to boot, and then I thought that it might be related to the bootloader. Isn't this tablet's bootloader locked? I know the bootloader gets updated when I update the stock rom, and I suppose it was and I'm on kk bootloader since I'm on 4.4.2 stock. Well it could be that the bootloader is locked and needs to be unlocked? I remember this was true for an HTC I used to have and for my current LG. But I don't know what to do, I mananaged to revert it back to stock after flashing the custom rom since I couldn't get it to work, I'm using odin for everything and following the instructions to the letter, being very careful and all, always wiping data partition and cache before. When following instructions didn't help I decided to try a few things on my own. I first flashed the root, then TWPR then the custom rom, then I tried TWPR, custom rom and then root, then root and custom rom. I've tried like all possible combinations to no avail it gets stuck on Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition logo and the custom rom doesn't boot. I'm so desperate since this is the first android device I haven't been able to install a custom rom on. Now I'm back to stock and lost everything, have to start from scratch now since I didn't back up, I had nothing important on my tablet, but still... I really need someone to help me out. My tablet is working fine now but with stock, no luck with custom rom (Hyperdrive) I don't wanna try other rom because I'm still thinking it has to do with the bootloader, but I don't know if it's locked or what.
sure, boot was ended ? If I remenber well, you need to be patient for first boot of hyperdrive rom, about ten minutes.
if you have have trouble with flashing, may I suggest you to update your tab step by step.
1) reinstall stock rom (seems you have already done that)
2) flash twrp 2.6.X (reboot, and keep time to manage a backup, use your tab, ...)
3) flash a custom rom with twrp (you will be able to restore some data from your backup if needed)
a good way is also to use your stock rooted rom with xposed modules. So you will be able to customize your tab like a custom rom do.

Are you on P605 or P600? The Hyperdrive rom is not for all variants.

SGH-I747 - 4.4.2 Soft Bricked after trying to update

Hi all,
I am new here and I am having trouble with my Galaxy 3 SGH-I747 from at&t
I rooted the phone using KingoRoot and everything was fine.
I used the phone for about a week and decided to update from kitkat 4.4.2 to lolipop 5.0.
I have a micromax phone that is rooted and I didnt have any trouble updating it while it was rooted, so i figured it wouldnt be a problem but when I updated the s3 it said update failed at 94% and started rebooting and got stuck in an update loop.
I searched and searched and tried finding recovery options using odin but I cant find a 4.4.2 stock firmware, and cant find much information on recovering my device.
I am unable to boot in to recovery. I cant find a link for the SGH-I747 to philz recovery, the links all seem to be dead.
I can boot in to download mode.
I want to install a custom recovery via ODIN but i cant find one for my phone.
After I install the custom recovery, how will i know which stock OS my phone is currently at
I appreciate any advice you can give me, thanks.
Use TWRP for custom recovery. CWM and Philz haven't been updated in quite a while. You can get odin flashable tars from here.
Flashing TWRP should get you to working recovery, and you can find the rom zips you need to get back up and running in the development section here.
Unrooted stock will overwrite TWRP with stock recovery upon boot. Depending on how far your phone is getting into the booting process that might happen if you let odin auto-reboot. Your best bet is to uncheck auto-reboot in odin, so it won't restart on you automatically. Upon success remove the USB cable and pull battery. Replace battery and boot straight to recovery by holding home+vol up+power until you see tiny blue text in the upper left corner then releasing.
Thankyou! i was able to install the recovery by TWRP.
I just need to figure out what firmware to install and where I can get it... I was on kitkat, I tried to update to lollipop but it didnt work. My phone is bricked so I dont know how i would see the firmware version on it.
I really just want any kind of stable firmware that is rooted. Any ideas where I could find one? I'm trying to sift through the forums

I appreciate all the help - It seemed really hard because I was finding roms and flashing with ODIN but it always failed TWRP is giving me results. I flashed slimkat and got my phone working again! the only problem is my sound is a bit junky, idk why.
I plan on trying out Octos - M, because I heard marshmallow OS has a lot better battery life among other things
If i upgrade to a custom marshmallow OS, is there any coming back to a former custom OS like 4.4.2? or is it a permanent upgrade?
Do you guys recommend any custom OS? I need something stable, that uses the resources efficiently.
Before flashing additional ROMs, make sure the phone is running the latest bootloader and modem.
To verify the installed bootloader and modem, install the Samsung Phone Info app from the Play store.
With a custom ROM, you can flash from one to another, usually without any issues as long as you perform a complete wipe (system, data, cache) before flashing a new ROM. If you are upgrading an existing custom ROM with a newer custom ROM (e.g. CM12.1 2016-01-01 nightly to CM12.1 2016-01-02 nightly), you can just flash the updated ROM over the existing ROM.
