Ok I am going to make it Abundantly Clear. So there is ZERO I mean ZERO CONFUSION.
What this is NOT -
This is not a Weekly. This is not Stable. If you are looking for either, you are in the wrong thread.
This is Not a Daily Driver. If you are looking for one, go to SlimKat Thread.
This is not Fully Functional Picture Perfect Rom. You do not get to Complain and call names on the thread if you expected anything else.
This Build does have bugs. Those that are known to me are listed Bellow.
What this is -
This is an Early Alpha Build. To those who don't know, that's prior Stage of a Beta or Weekly Build.
Its a Preview of things to come. If you notice, my list of Features is lacking quiet a few of Slim Features.
Yes there are bugs. The ones I do know are
Root does not Stick. See Notes Bellow.
Stock Camera clicks but does not take pictures. When you switch to Video Mode, you'd get error "Unable to Connect to Camera". Afterwards you have to reboot to clear.
Some of the 3rd Party Camera Apps work. For Ex. Open Camera, VivaVideo
APN Menu does not show any of the APNs for at least Sprint Variant.
When connected to WiFi, MMS are delayed. Only seems to affect D2VZW.
NOTES -
You must Flash SuperSU [STABLE][2015.01.20] SuperSU v2.4.5 as a Zip file along after flashing Rom.
If you posted a bug/issue not listed above, without a Logcat, I will ignore it.
Unless specified otherwise, do not dirty flash on top of SlimKat or Other Roms. If you did and then complained even with Logcat, I will ignore.

Just in case.
So far, this is running very smoothly with no issues other than the known bugs.
Battery life not quite what I have with SlimKat 9, but not bad. And, to be fair, I tested it for less than 24 hours. Also had an issue with WiFi not turning itself back on while using LeanDroid, but it worked fine after I uninstalled the app. Very impressive for an Alpha, though. If it's not quite a daily driver, it's damn close. Hopefully the camera lib problem across all the d2 LP builds will be solved soon.
As for MVNO APNs, I'm on Ting and flashing their APN's after rom & gapps worked fine (data, LTE, etc).
I wonder if Slim is ever going to bring back CM themes, it's the only thing holding me back.

That's for RingPlus, but same idea. I found the Ting apn zip here: https://help.ting.com/entries/23423026-Flashable-Zip-Fixed-LTE-eHRPD-for-CyanogenMod
I use the 4.3 file, but it works for 4.4 and 5, too.

Yes - I can access it using Google Gesture Search. Also, regarding Open Camera - it works for the most part, but occasionally it will lock up if I tap the screen to focus. A reboot is needed to use the camera again.

That's mighty helpful. Are you able to switch from one APN to another if you wanted to do so ? Also I understand, the menu to APN does not Appear under Setting>Mobile Data > Access Point Names. Is that right ? Eitehr that or don't see a listing at the said place.

Yes, it seems I can switch APNs. But there's no menu listing where there should be.

Just start drawing A-P-N and it should appear on the list. It usually appears after just the A for me. Also, I found a major bug the hard way this morning when the alarm didn't sound. It was set to the priority profile, so it should have worked. I also had no ringtone for one phone call this morning (default profile), but it worked for another. I'll try to reproduce at least the ringtone issue for a logcat, but then I'll have to go back to KK.
Update: Unfortunately, I was unable to reproduce the the alarm/ringtone issue. But, full disclosure, I forgot I was using BMS kernel at the time (sorry, love the cold trinity colors and the battery life it gives me on KK). I went back to the stock kernel nandroid I have and did the testing. So maybe it's a third-party kernel problem, or it could have something to do with the phone being in deep sleep for an extended period of time, which was the other variable. I'll do more testing when I can, but I have a busy week ahead, so it won't be right away.

Thanks for the Update. Test when you can please. Do note, Ringtones on External SD might just might be an issue as well.

I wish it was that easy, but I was using system and default ringtones/notifications. I'll get back to it when I can. I was really enjoying it otherwise.

Sorry it took me a while to get to this. I was able to access the APN menu and switch it to Ting, but I was only able to get 3g. Strangely, after switching, I was not able to see the APNs and got the "...not available to this user" message.
I then went back into recovery, wiped the caches, and flashed my APN file. I went back to the APN menu (still getting that message), reset to default, toggled airplane mode on and off, and now I have LTE. I can now see the APN menu again, but it's only the Ting APNs that I flashed. This, by the way, was how I got LTE on KitKat, too. Switching via the APN menu only gave me 3g.

VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU BACKUP YOUR EFS THROUGH FREEGEE AND/OR TWRP
Installation
Fresh/new install:
* download rom and gapps to the root of your sd card
* reboot to twrp
* factory reset
* use advanced tab and wipe :
data, system, cache, and dalvick cache (do not wipe internal storage)
* factory reset
* flash rom
* flash gapps
* reboot phone
Updating/dirty flash method: ONLY if already using my Carbon rom
Download ROM and gapps onto the root of your sdcard
* Reboot phone into recovery
* Use the advanced tab and wipe:
cache and dalvick cache
*Flash ROM
*Flash gapps
*Reboot phone
*(IMO) for optimal results after dirty flash and it reboots, go back to recovery and fix permissions (JMO)
Known Issues
these "fixes" are only necessary if you are experiencing problems
if experiencing data problems restore your efs that you backed up prior to flashing
if experiencing mms issues try this:
MMS confirmed working for a few in IRC.. send receive should work now if you're lucky and can follow directions.
1. Delete telephony.db located at /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db ...Open ES File Explorer > Press the menu button > Settings > Scroll to the bottom > Make sure "Root Explorer" is checked > Click "OK" > navigate to the directory starting from "/" (you could prob do this with the CM file explorer too)
2. Delete messaging Data...From home screen > Press menu button > Manage Apps > "All" tab > Find Messaging > Press "Clear data" button
3. Reboot. Clear cache if you want.
GPS issues:
go back to stock rom or a stock based rom ( a back up is sufficient )
Get a GPS lock and keep it for a few minutes ( make certain you are getting a lock from GPS and not your network or WiFi )
Flash back to CARBON
That should solve any GPS problems
Battery drain issues:
if your experiencing major battery drain there are a few things you can try i will list a few here....
turn wifi, gps, bluetotth, and sync off when not using it
turn auto-brightness off and adjust it to your liking
lower sceen time-out to 15 or 30 seconds
try installing an app like greenify or batteryguru that will shut down apps that are running in the background
try changing your govenor from performance to powersave with an app like faux enhancement or trickstermod
try lowering your max freq. from 15+ to something a little lower
turn things like daydream off if you dont use it
try using wifi more often if able 3g/mobile data will suck the battery dry in no time
try looking in task manager to see if you have rouge apps hanging out.. if you do stop them
Try flashing smoocha kernel can find it in the android development section for this phone
these in no way are guaranteed to get you more life but they are a start to getting better life..hell it cant hurt only make it better
Camera focus issues:
Double tap instead of single tap
Switch to a different mode then back..(switch to HDR then back, switch to panorama then back)
Try the script method posted below
Try a third party camera app
Or try this: a quick hack work-around to anyone who has auto-focus working but only for the 1st app launch.
using smanager
* Install and launch smanager
* Make a new script with this in it
killall mm-qcamera-daemon
killall com.android.gallery3d
am force-stop os.tools.scriptmanager
am start -n com.android.gallery3d/com.android.camera.CameraLauncher
* Click on the script. Set it as "favorite" and highlight "SU". Save
* Add a shortcut on launcher. Select SMShortcuts.
* Select Add one script shortcut. Pick your script. Change the name/image to whatever you want.
* Hit OK and profit.
Need to thank sputnikk23 & prowlingfox for this workaround
or try with tasker method

To do this, In Tasker:
Create a new Task called "Load Camera".
Click the + sign.
Click on Script.
Click on Run Shell.
Paste the following into the Command section (note that the first line is missing - that's on purpose):
Code:
killall com.android.gallery3d
am force-stop os.tools.scriptmanager
am start -n com.android.gallery3d/com.android.camera.CameraLauncher
Check the box next to Use Root - not sure if this is needed or not, but it works fine if it's checked.
Click the Tasker icon in the top left of the screen to accept the changes for the shell command.
Click the Tasker icon in the top left of the screen again to accept the changes to the Task.
Click on the Profiles tab.
Click on the + sign.
I called my Profile "Load Camera"
Click on "Application".
Select Camera.
Click on the Tasker icon in the top left of the screen to accept the selection.
Click on the task that you created in the first steps to tie the profile to the task.
Enjoy....
Give it a shot and let me know if it doesn't work for you, but it works just great for me.

well idk if anyone read my comment in root box thread but that certain something I was waiting on arrived so building is going to increase... lol, now granted at some point I'm going to have to say OK that's enough.... but as long as I have the time, and the errors are minimal I can keep going... also if any body wants to help maintain anything only need to request in a pm as long as you willing to learn and don't get frustrated easily... Lol.. everything can be taught and can even turn over the set ups I have to build, so it would really just be sync, make few edits to match mine , hit build and fix any error that may occur

So just out of curiosity what is your favorite rom you have built and your daily driver
I just flashed this ROM and wanted to say thank you.
You are doing a fantastic job with weekly updates on your current roms and every week it seems that you build new roms as well.
Thank you

Here's a tip...
Use Tasker to create a profile that watches for the state of the display to be off. Task it to run a script, as described in the OP, except make sure the code is as follows:
Code:
killall mm-qcamera-daemon
killall com.android.gallery3d
Make sure "Use Root" is checked (it won't work without it)
Voila, the camera will be reset every time you lock your phone, so you never have to worry about running the script yourself or using a custom shortcut! And every application that uses the camera will be able to take advantage of the autofocus this way (Instagram, QR scanners, Snapchat, custom camera apps...)
Hey nice job on the ROM! You keep cranking them out, gives some nice options and quality builds. Your the man!!!......why about basic PA?

Make sure "Use Root" is checked (it won't work without it)
Voila, the camera will be reset every time you lock your phone, so you never have to worry about running the script yourself or using a custom shortcut! And every application that uses the camera will be able to take advantage of the autofocus this way (Instagram, QR scanners, Snapchat, custom camera apps...)

NOTES -
This is a D2GSM Build. So it is equally applicable to D2ATT as well as D2TMO. So use D2ATT Build unless I specified Otherwise.

Nice Rom!! Wil try it out!
its working great thanks!!
OP Updated. 5.1.1 Build Released.
EDIT - Another Build is up on my AFH. I cleaned up the download folder into 2 sub folders. Let me know if you have issues.
Recents Fixed. But There's some other customizations for QS Tiles & More importantly ability to get rid of the # Symbol is now in Developer Options.
Fixed the issue with Hardware buttons not responding along with other updates.
New Build Up.
I noticed on g+ that the s3 wasnt listed on the weeklies, if it happens will you continue this thread? or list download links, I hope so, Slim rom officials are low maintenance, and the s3 is still a good phone, thanks.

Yes this go around I didn't build one. You can use the D2ATT build and it will work just fine. Its on my D2TMO at this time. You can use Build.Prop Editor or some other mechanism to change Device Model (ro.product.model)
If you want a D2TMO Specific build, look under the folder Older Builds.
Perseus, you are THE MAN! Switched from sprint to tmo and was thrilled to find this. Running great for me with the exception of bt, but I can deal. I saw you said this device will continue to get updates, is that still the case?
I have a random question with regards to mic setup. I'm using sipdroid + gv for voice service, and I saw a thread saying the mics are reversed unless on a TW rom. I can hear people perfectly, but they have complaints. Can you confirm if this may be my issue?

The last 3 posts. Is that last post a potential fix ?
Thanks again for everything. My phone and I would be lost without you. :good:

Yes there would be updates here. I wasn't aware of this issue as you are the first one to bring it up.
You can try the solution suggested, but at first glance seems like Hangout issue or your setup. Not sure. Just making a guess.
Are you aware that under advanced settings of the dialer, you have ability to enter SIP account details ? This can potentially bypass need for Hangout Dialer ?
Yes sir. Using native dialer. Idk why they complain, I can hear them perfectly. I would have thought it would be crap both ways. Will keep messing with it.
Unrelated: hangouts is crushing my battery when not on wifi. Unistalled dialer and now I think it's worse.... Lol
So many downloads and very little chatter. Must be A GREAT build for a beta!
@Perseus
Are you going to be updating this ROM more regularly? Also thank you for compiling a dedicated d2tmo build w/ v0.6. :good:
So this build is pretty good unlike the crappy build I was using before out of a need to get lolipop up and running.
My biggest complaint though --- why are we using the old JB recent apps window. Worse yet, why is there no clear all button?
This is driving me mad to the point of installing Xposed just to kind of add in this functionality.

To clear all you have to use the "pinch" gesture in the recent apps section.
Hi so I tried flashing d2tmo 5.1 official and I keep getting stuck on the boot animation. I tried flashing via both CWM and TWRP (following exact instructions for both) and I still got the same result. I'm able to flash the latest stable Kit-Kat ROM without issue. I've waited up to 20 minutes for the boot animation to disappear. Do you have any suggestions?

I will. But due to Time constraints, I can't promise a weekly build. Slim Server will start cranking out Weeklies, jenkins permitting. If so, the need for my builds would be less.

Yeah that's my bad. I would probably post a flashable kernel only build that you can flash on top of this build.

Team OctOs presents Oct-MM.
We maintain a current release record and change-log on our website: http://www.teamoctos.com
- Please Do Not Mirror our files without talking to us. We can do that ourselves should we desire to. -
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this Android 6 (MarshMallow)?
A: Yes, this is Android 6.0.1
Q: What code is Oct-MM based on?
A: Starting with Oct-MM, we've rebased OctOs on the CyanogenMod 13 code. Modified to give you a smoother more stable rom.
We like to Strive on being closest to AOSP as possible but also being able to support multiple device
Q: What happened to AOSP?
A: All Android code is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Under previous releases, we tried very hard to limit the number of "Not from Google directly" repositories that we used. Unfortunately, issues with devices, the need for Code Aurora Foundation (CAF) repositories for Qualcomm devices, and compatibility issues meant fighting code more often than not. We decided that since the code-base for many repositories were the same across most ROMs, picking a starting point to build the user experience on outweighed the desire to craft code from scratch, or fix broken code to make it work with other changes we already had.
Q: Why isn't there XXXXXXX feature.
A: Shoot us a Suggestion if you want to see something added. While we are not going to promise to implement, we will always look into it
Q: But CM and all the others have..
A: ROM developers, including CM, build something they want to use. The ROM developer that includes something they won't run implies less than 100% effort to ensure it does work. As a team, we have similar goals and objectives. If XYZ ROM has a feature you want, and we don't include (or don't want to include), feel free to use XYZ ROM, or build your own custom version of Oct-L.
Q: Superuser or SuperSU?
A: Team OctOs uses SuperSU and is installed automatically.
Bugs:
Bugs happen. Our testers are very good at breaking things, but no where near as good as the rest of the Android public. In order to investigate and fix issues, we need the help of the users who are going to report them. The Android OS has many nifty features to help us in this, but only if we can engage the user to assist us.
Logs, Logcat, and the Android Debugging Bridge (ADB)
Like any other OS, Android has multiple log files that are generated and record the goings-on of the system. As a user, you have two basic ways to view and pull these to send to us. Without the information in the logfiles, there simply is not a whole lot of information to go on.
Log file APKs
Team OctOs recommends SysLog from the Android Market. This application will allow you to selectively pick any (or all) of the system logs, compress them into a .ZIP file, and allow you to save, email, move to your Copy/DropBox/Cloud Storage account, etc.
ADB Logcat
The Android Debugging Bridge (ADB) is a powerful tool available from Google as part of the Android Software Development Kit (SDK). Used for many things, being able to selectively see, in real-time, what your device is doing cannot be downplayed. While there is more setup involved, if you are doing consistent ROM flashing, you really should invest the time to get setup properly to do it.
ADB Logcat tutorial here: How to create a logcat log
Basic Instructions:
Download ROM .zip file and MD5 file, and grab your favorite Android 6 based GApps[/URL] package
Reboot to Recovery (Note: Use Reboot to Recovery from Power Menu, Hardware-based boot to recovery, or adb reboot recovery - ROM Manager or similar software is NOT supported)
--- TWRP is the ONLY recovery Team OctOs uses - We do not support flashing on CWM ---
Factory Reset from TWRP
Flash ROM and GApps .ZIP files
Reboot
DOWNLOADSStable: https://www.teamoctos.com/supported-devices/Weekly: https://www.teamoctos.com/weekly-builds/Recomended Gapps: http://opengapps.org/
The Oct-MM ROM installation script will automatically wipe /system, /cache, and /data/dalvik-cache. There is no need to do these before or after flashing the ROM unless you are instructed to by your GApps Provider
The foundation of the Android OS is the fact that is it open-source. We have all code we use internally in the creation of Oct-MM available on our GitHub repositories.
Unless otherwise specified, all Oct-MM builds use the device's stock CyanogenMod 13 kernel.

i've been setting up this ROM and i can report 2 problems so far:
problem #1: system UI crashes when pressing the + symbol while editing tiles in the quick settings menu. this effectively prevents any tiles from being (re)added. on a related note the 'reset to default layout' option under 'edit tiles' does nothing and the system UI tuner isn't accessible after holding the settings icon. none of this is a big issue for me.
problem #2: home screen grid size is locked to 4 icons per row no matter how low the lcd density is set. this is a deal breaker for me... i've tried both launcher3 and google now launchers and the grid size is stuck at 4 and i can't find any settings to alter it. i don't understand what's going on here as lcd density adjustment is built into the ROM and works just fine to all outward appearances. i'm looking into a manual workaround now, but i may have to drop this ROM if i come up empty. i'm loathe to use nova or any other launcher just for this functionality.
So far, so good. Didn't reinstall all my stuff but I will report back. Really eager to see if bluetooth will work correctly (I have a pebble watch, BT car and speaker) ...
Update: Bluetooth not stable enough

re: problem #2
ok, dpi adjustment via the ROM is a soft adjustment--the build.prop value still reflects the default dpi of 480. modifying 'ro.sf.lcd_density=380' gets me the 5x5 grid i want so i'm happy.
i can also report that miracast functionality works without issue on my fire tv stick (i'll test my roku stick next).
my demands on bluetooth aren't that extensive, but transferring files and tethering seem to work well enough.
android pay still incompatible even after totally unrooting the ROM.
a few more observations on OCT-M-WEEKLY-20160116-1647-jfltetmo build:
i had to manually set some google app permissions in order to display all google now cards: settings/apps/gear icon/app permissions
lockclock weather widget fails to access location services to display local (geolocated) conditions. i verified cLock system app has location permissions under settings. for now i have the weather widget manually set to my zipcode.
after patching with OCT-M-WEEKLY-20160123-0421-jfltetmo i can get a little further when adding tiles to the quick settings menu, but system UI still crashes...progress
i tracked down the source of the crashes when adding tiles to the quick settings menu. whatever item is below 'screen timeout' in the list causes the system UI to crash when scrolling down to (attempt to) view it. Also, when i keep on adding tiles so that the problematic item would show up next in the initial (visible) list of tiles presented... at that point pressing the + button crashes the system UI immediately. when i remove a tile, thereby adding it back to the visible list, then i can press the + button and get the list again without crashing. of course when i scroll past 'screen timeout' the system ui then crashes immediately, as before.
now running the OCT-M-WEEKLY-20160130-0511-jfltetmo build without anything new to report
I'm not able to backup anything on external sd card with Titanium Backup on this rom, is there something I'm missing about permissions? Seems like file manager and quickpic also have this problem.

app permissions are now very granular with marshmallow. some of my apps request missing permissions and some just assume they have them so i've had to manually set permissions for a number of apps. just tonight i had to grant hangouts permissions to use the microphone to place a call.
settings/apps/gear icon/app permissions

Oddly, this is happening even with storage permissions on. My only fix for the titanium Backup issue was to make a com.kerimidas.TitaniumBackup folder in the external, from a computer (as I couldn't make folders with any file manager I tried). It seems permission related, but turning them on doesn't fix this for me.
i've installed EVERY single weekly build (plus current pico gapps) as they've been released and this is still my daily ROM. nothing new has been broken and the 'edit tiles' crash on the quick settings menu was finally fixed in the last few releases. several other very minor annoyances have been addressed over time...the only glitch that i can still identify is a problem with the cLock weather widget updates, but this has been a work in progress in the last several releases switching from yahoo weather over to open weather map.
I am a heavy multi-tasking phone user. i think the most recent weekly builds qualify for stable release status.

i ran into this problem as well with the loaderdroid download manager. i was able to grant app permissions to the built-in sd card memory, but not the external card. apparently, this problem (or feature) was introduced back in kitkat and was addressed with the sdfix app. the app no longer works in marshmallow and has yet to be updated. you can try manually editing the /system/etc/permissions/platform.xml file if it still exists, but i'm content to wait for the sdfix app to be updated or superseded.
Installed latest nightly + A-Gapps, so far very impressed with this ROM. Love having a bare-bones AOSP ROM to add just what I need.
Update: BT streaming to the car works well, though noticed phone getting quite hot after a bit.
After going to Recovery, and doing a dalvik/cache wipe , seems that temps w/ BT have settled down remarkably.
cLock widget weather updates working again as of OCT-M-WEEKLY-20160521-0142-jfltetmo build.
So I have been running this ROM for about a week and its a pretty great and stable ROM. The Tentacles extra allow some nice customization.
I have only one crash that I know of, and that was yesterday. I think it was just pure overload. I had Bluetooth running playing music, while I was using Runtascit and GPS was locked as well, then I got a phone call, all while on a low battery. But once it booted back up it was fine. Don't know who called though. Haha. & I found out that the LG Tone 730's you cant change the song via the head set.
Also I found that the speakerphone stops once you back out of the phone app back to the main launcher, but the icon is still in the notification bar. You have to turn it off and back on to get it to work again. - EDIT: This seems to have been an issues with the Google Now Launcher. I switched to Apex Launcher and it is working fine now.
Another thing I noticed but forgot to mention is that it only seems to slow charge (it says it and compared to my ATT S4 on 4.4.2).

In spite of the onscreen message, it charges at the normal rate. Supposedly, the S4 doesn't support the fast charge feature, though some claim it can be enabled at the kernel level, if the kernel has it baked in.

We highly recommend you to follow these instructions very carefully. Users usually tend to skip a few steps and eventually fall in trouble. Are you with me? Good. Let's get this train going.
Just a few things to keep in mind first -
If you're coming from another ROM / Stock, your system data (not internal storage) will have to be wiped. This includes apps, accounts, messages, call logs etc.
There's been some users complaining about different GAPPS variants messing up installs and causing a ton of issues. Upon investigating it seems OpenGapps Mini/Nano and Banks GAPPS work best.
Understand that Paranoid Android is a custom ROM and it might lead to addiction as it's relatively good. We shouldn't be accused of anything just incase your cat starts drinking wine. Things get a little woozy in the Paranoid World.
Some brain might be involved if things go wrong. Not a lot though, as much to solve what's 1+1.
Okay let's get to the main bit -
Once you have all the required files - boot into recovery and wipe the bananas out of your device. Get into the wipe menu and wipe data, system, cache and dalvik cache (basically everything except Internal Storage).
Once wiped, get into the "Install from zip" menu and select the ROM zip. (pa_bacon_6.x...). Once added to the install queue, TWRP will ask you if you want to add more zips into the queue - Click on "add more zips" and select the GAPPS package.
Swipe the bar on the bottom to flash/install zips. Once both zips are done installing - Reboot into system and set-up your device, do not do anything else.
Once you're done setting up your device - well that's when you're done. One thing though - Make sure you DO NOT INSTALL any other zip in the same queue as the ROM & GAPPS. Meaning, do not flash anything like a kernel or a root package while installing the ROM. We recommend you do that AFTER you're done setting up your device.

to the good old days!
Welcome back guys,
I do have a question, is there any chance you guys have also given some magic to the camera? Because I thought you guys are affiliated with oneplus, maybe having access to the good stuff ^.^?
Don't currently have the time to reinstall my phone, so can't test it myself.
Kind regards,
domistroy
6.0.1 is a great update to 6.0, lots of issues ironed out that were plaguing the initial release, congrats and thank you!
I just think that the in-call volume could get a bit more love, I remember it being far louder on the previous ROM I used daily, Sultan's CM13. It is still too low and some static noise can be heard in the background while talking to someone.

I don't use themes to be honest, always tend to run Android the way Google meant for it to look and feel.
Maybe you should try reinstalling the theme itself and try again how it goes.

In that case I don't know really, mine is working just fine, no force closes even when I open the Themes app. The only difference from my setup and yours is that I'm always using OpenGapps, but yet again, don't know how would that impact the theme engine...
You probably have something else installed that might be causing it.
What camera blobs that this rom using??
Hopefully otg usb will work soon!
Thanks for the awesome rom!
Awesome you guys are back i haved always loved to switch roms from PA to CM back and forth because both roms are amazing and now i get to have pa mm on my opo The new boot animation is killer too
For those FCs with Themes and Themes Provider, please clear the apps data and reboot. It's in the G+ pages but probably needs a FAQ here too.
FWIW not all themes work, even with CMTE. I'm guessing some work is needed either in the TE side or by the theme's Developer

F2FS support? System as well?
can the menu key be remapped for the recents apps using a single press not double or long press?

The previous build was EXT4 only, but they could have added it on the most recent one.
Hard to say for certain. The updater-script requires /system to be EXT4 though.
Can anyone confirm the latest build is EXT4 only as well?

SlimRoms is a custom android operating system. Our main goal is to offer users a slimmed down yet feature rich alternative to other android operating systems.
The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and you can stop by our public Gerrit to submit patches of any type.
Slim7 is the project name for SlimRoms based on Android 7.1.x Nougat, which offers the following original features:
-Slim Navbar & Hardware key rebinding
--Single tap action, long press action, double tap action! - We’ve got you covered.
-Slim Actions & Chamber of secrets
-- Customise your device to the fullest - You’re a wizard!
-SlimRecents
--A faster alternative to stock recents - Your device, your choice.
-SlimLauncher
--An open source, feature filled launcher! - Make yourself at home
-Status bar customisations
--Clock and date? Battery? - More fun than you can shake a stick at.

Installation steps:
-You MUST unlock your device's bootloader in order to install Slim; I won't cover this area, however you can look it up here in the forums or ask me anything about it.
- Install the latest TWRP
- Download the latest build, gapps (optional). Place on internal storage or an sdcard.
- Reboot into recovery mode
- Wipe --> Advanced wipe --> data, cache, dalvik, and system. This is a clean flash, therefore you will lose your apps and their data; (sd and storage are not mandatory to wipe, so anything in there's going to be fine if you don't do it) remember to back those things up if you want to keep them.
- Install the build, the gapps and the root zip if you're going to root.
- Done! Reboot and enjoy. Remember the first boot always takes a few minutes.

Edit: @fireball0093 can you include this fix in your roms?
Thanks for working on this device dude.

Just installed Gravitybox and tested myself, looks like the same issues here. A reboot after applying some different settings didn't work, the only thing that seemed to work was brightness control under status bar. I'm compiling a personal build of Slim for my G4 Play and when it's done I'll try there too to see if it's an issue with the ROM sources itself or if it's phone-specific.

Gravitybox does say custom rom use is hit or miss so it's not surprising. I know slim is missing a few features so using gravitybox is desired, but still not surprised.

Like many similar modules GB works best on close AOSP clones. That said, it works fairly well on most ROMs excluding areas of direct overlap like navbar, quick settings and status bar tweaks. I ran Slim on a different device and don't recall significant issues with GB compatibility. But that was awhile ago; things may have changed.
Thank you for the ROM. So far working great!
I am one of the voters who voted for Slim ROM so I am really happy to see it live.

I really appreciate it, thank you. I'm currently starting development of a kernel, but I plan on releasing a new update to Slim in a few days in case they update sources to the February security patch, and I want to include a messaging app and some kind of browser right out of the box, that way it's a bit more convenient when first setting it up. Someone also found a way to get LTE working for CDMA, only tested on Sprint currently, but we're going to be working further with that to try and incorporate at least part of the fix, I'm going to see if they can get a guide up on here for everyone for the rest of it

New update in OP. Nothing major, just a few upstream source changes. I personally like ROMs to be updated until the source stops updating, so expect a crDroid update soon too. Dot no longer is updating their Nougat branch (To my knowledge) so I don't think there will be an update for that, but I'll check regardless. In a few weeks I'll (hopefully) be releasing a custom Kernel I'm working on too if all goes as planned!
