Public Transit App - Asus ZenWatch

I created a smart watch app the displays the upcoming public transit departure times for Philadelphia. I want to bring the app to other watches and other cities so I created kickstarter campaign:
kickstarter (dot) com/projects/1527306840/smartwatch-transit-app
Here is a description of the campaign:
With the burst of interest in wearable technology and the craze over the upcoming release of the Apple Watch, smartwatches have taken the country by storm. With so many features and opportunities for app development, we centered in on one question: What information could be vitally useful while you're on the move, but accessible with no input and just a glance? Transit times.
With that we set out to build the simplest, easiest, and most useful transit app for the Pebble watch. We just released the first version of the app which supports the subway and commuter regional rail lines (in realtime including delays) of the beautiful city of Philadelphia: Philly Transit. We already love the app so much we decided to take it one step further.
Why would we keep our app private in Philadelphia and only on one device when we can share it with the rest of you? By adding more cities and expanding to other platforms, we envision our app to be used by commuters around the world every single day. Help us make this dream a reality, and please, stop running for the next train!
While we plan to eventually add support for most cities worldwide, we are anticipating a launch in time for the release of the Apple Watch with support for these cities:
New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Bay Area, Washington DC, Boston, Seattle, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Munich, Frankfurt, London, and Madrid
If your city isn't listed here, don't fret! By early summer 2015 we expect to support over 20 cities in the United States alone.

XDA IIs & IIi O2 UK Press Release

O2 UK Press Release
8th September 2004
O2 ANNOUNCES PLANS TO FOLLOW IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF HIGHLY ACCLAIMED Xda® II
Press Release
Having secured over a third of the UK’s wireless handheld market* with the Xda II, O2 today announced its intention to introduce the Xda IIs. This new device will include new enhancements to the integrated PDA and mobile handset, whilst retaining the core functions of the original Xda II platform that have proved so popular with both consumer and business customers. The Xda IIs will be available in the UK and Ireland on 1st November 2004 and Germany by the end of the year.
Aimed primarily at the professional user, the Windows Mobile™ based Xda lls offers a number of new features over the original Xda II. The biggest addition is a 39-key, slide-out QWERTY keyboard for added usability. This user-friendly addition enables customers to use the device more easily for applications such as email, contacts, calendar, texting and editing using well known Microsoft® Office tools. The new device will also include BlackBerry® Connect™ from early 2005.
The Xda IIs also boasts a 25% increase in battery life over the original Xda II, as well as enhanced WLAN capabilities and quad band connectivity, all of which will be of particular benefit to those customers frequently out of the office or those that travel regularly. Laurence Alexander, Director of Products and Devices at O2 UK said, “The Xda series has been extremely successful and having gained top reviews across the industry, it is now recognised as a leader in its field.
By combining a high specification product, cutting-edge functionality, quality features, contemporary design and competitive pricing and packages, we have no doubt that this new device will continue to win new customers and ultimately market share. It demonstrates our commitment in leading in the mobile data space and offering the best customer experience through technological innovation.”
Early next year, O2 will also be launching the Xda IIi a Windows® Mobile based device that runs on the latest Windows 2003 2nd edition software and is faster than the Xda II due to its advanced Intel PXA270 processor, which runs at 520MHz. The device also upgrades from a 0.3Mp to 1.3 Mp camera, which gives significantly higher quality pictures. This makes it a preferable option for those who regularly use the camera function and want a device with a slightly faster performance.
Launched in November 2003, more than 100,000 Xda ll devices have been sold by O2 in the UK, Germany, Ireland and throughout Asia Pacific. Sales continue to show steady growth with the device gaining approximately 20% market share overall across the countries in which O2 operates in just six months since its launch.
The Xda II has proved a popular choice for both consumers and corporate customers alike. O2 recently announced that the Xda II achieved over a third of the wireless handheld market* in the UK and this is set to grow with the continued uptake of mobile technology from companies such as Cantor Index, London Borough of Lewisham and the Sadie Frost fashion label Frost French.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Tents in NYC

My wife and I were having dinner in Chelsea last night and came across a Samsung Galaxy S3 tent on the corner of Little West 12th Street and 9th Avenue. One of the attendants called us over, informing us that we can win free GS3s and other prizes. Both my wife and I have GS3s, and the attendant asked us to pick out two blue plastic chips from a bowl designated for VIPs (current Samsung owners). The chips had NFC tags on them, which the attendant scanned with one of the GS3 demo models. Both my wife and I won $50 AMEX gift cards. Two other people won GS3s.
If any of you are in the area, take a walk over and try your luck!
Cool story bro....
No I'm just kidding that is pretty sweet. I wonder if they won like unlocked GSM ones or Verizon versions or how they did that.

No clue if the phones were unlocked or not. I was thrilled to death about winning the gift cards ($100 is a decent chunk of change), so the thought to ask about the phones didn't even cross my mind. It's always possible that the winners were given a choice of carrier.
That is pretty cool to just get a 100 bucks. It's crazy how much they have marketed this phone and also how popular the galaxy series has become.

what did the tent look like? there seems to be a portable trailer with the SGS3 logo on it sitting on Hermosa Beach Pier in CA today, but i saw it at 1am so it was closed. wonder if it's the same promo...
Something is happening in NYC next week... I got a free invite to this "Samsung Galaxy Event" for this coming Wednesday. I wonder if they're going to "officially" announce the new Galaxy Note or the Black SGSIII. Does anyone have any idea what this event might be for?

They have a similar set-up in Madison Square Park (south side, west of the Shake Shack). I only won a $20 AMC gift card, which buys me 1.5 movie tickets in NYC

They also had one of these at IDentity Festival in mountain view. Once again, prizes were either a $20 AMC card or a T-shirt and waterbottle :/

How much cheaper is it at Costco? Are you talking about a non-contract price? Could I buy it and use it with a Tmobile prepaid plan?

Samsung Will Sell The Galaxy S6 And S6 Edge Without Its Logo In Japan

Samsung is dialing back the visibility of its corporate brand in Japan after ditching its name from its newest smartphones there, according to The Korea Herald.
The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge go on sale in Japan on April 23, but customers won’t find Samsung’s logo on the devices as usual, instead they will be co-marketed with carrier partners as the ‘Docomo Galaxy’ and ‘au Galaxy’.
According to the figures from Counterpoint Research, Samsung sat in fifth place in Japan with less than five percent market share during November 2014. That’s in contrast to arch rival Apple, which captured half of all smartphone sales in the country during October and November 2014.
Rumors spiraling earlier this year suggested that the company would exit Japan after failing to make a meaningful impact in the country. Instead, it is giving its phones a shot without any direct links to the mothership — though it remains to be seen how successful that will be given the local penchant for Japanese brands and Apple’s iPhones.
I don't believe that it's a valid source,
how much will they go for?
Based on the OP's other posts, he seems to be a sneaky spammer like I used to see on blackberryforums, so I've reported as such.
