If there is Data etc. you do not want to lose, why not back it up (MTP) to your Computer?
thank you

Ok I know there's a lot of threads about rooting the DHD; and i already know that firmware 2.42 cannot be rooted yet.
However i am asking here if we can have temporary root!?
I mean let's say i want to sell the phone so i want to backup my applications' data (especially games with hours of play) so i can restore them on the new phone.
And of course in that case, we need root access!
So is there is a way to do so?!

You can backup your contacts and messages without rooting your phone. But if you want the same image there is only one option to root. I'm afraid there is no any thread here to downgrade the build number ya mentioned. If I were you still I'd try this method.
Who knows ya might find the way to sneak out Good luck

ignore if u did it.
its easy to get ur answer if u just google it,cos many sites are offering that rooting info/stuff.
Check here on how to root your phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20033919&postcount=1
And don't be nervous … rooting feels like a big step the first time you have an android phone. But it's not. The longer you own the phone, the more you will learn and the more you will want to try out with it. There will be days when you will flash and completely set up about 10 different ROMs. There will be days when you will brick your phone. Those days are still rather far away for you.
No need to do anything before and after rooting. It's so small of a change that you will hardly even notice it.
Welcome to the forums, have fun and good luck with rooting!
Thanks very much to all for ur responses...
Yeah i referd XDA and rooting is easy but my request is what to do before we do root like backup or something and after rooting what the thing we shud to first like custom rom creations..something like that...

you dont have to create custom roms...............you just download and install the created roms by different devs....from the development.....and before rooting backup your current stock rom through CWM Recovery...........

is it possible to use CWM backup even phone is not rooted?
Sent from my GT-S5360 using XDA App
ofc it is, in recovery mode it doesn't matter if you are root or not.
And you don't have to so anything before and after rooting, it can easily be reverted and everything will stay the same.

I have a LG G3 from Verizon, If I downgrade to kitkat using the lg flash tool I have no internet or mms. I used LG Flash tool 2014 to boot a kdz file (24B) 5.0.1 lollipop and still had no internet. I connected it to my pc and updated it, now I have internet? From what i've read you cant change apn settings on verizon and you get what is set on the phone. Am I doing something wrong? I'm now on stock 5.1.1 which I have also read cannot be downgraded. I miss root lol
I seem to be able to downgrade to kitkat via tot files, I can text, call and get wifi just cannot get mms or data. I couldnt create a new apn with it being verizon so im assuming verizon isnt changeable? I dont understand what the difference would be. I am a complete noob to rooting, I know how to root by using either stump root, one click root or simple stuff, lg flash tool I just followed directions and it worked. I know I shouldnt be tampering with the unknown but it really interests me. I want to learn and I learn from hands on/trial and error. I have tried google for the issue and searching these forums, I think where I'm failing in my search is the wording. I see updates for "modems" but I dont know if that's for mobile data, tethering or what. I need to research it more. I'm trying to give as much information as possible and allow an understanding of how noob I am lol. If anyone can lead me in the right direction I would like to gain root access once again. Thank you in advance, I hope someone can help me.

dont update or do anything unless you consider yourself strong minded and comfortable with rooting, flashing etc
the phone tends to get locked the moment you try to update.
So think thrice before doing anything with this phone.

Thank You for your reply, I've searched for long, and I want to update it, as long as a good guide is presented, I think it'sfine to use root and flash.
For persons that have done it (root, custom recovery, custom ROMs) it IS OK, but for people that have little to no experience doing it, reading and absorbing info thru video media is invaluable. This device can be a little balky, so heed the warnings given, STUDY UP, and be careful...

Thank you for the reply and advice, I actually did a lot of reading, and concluded that I need to return it to stock firmware, update it then flash it to read my sim card, I just do not know how to revert to stock firmawre and flash the sim card.

Hello everyone,
I have bought a LG G3 T-Mobile D851. I want to remove pre installed T-Mobile apps from my phone. I am new in Flashing/boot loader. Can anyone guide me how to do it?
I want to make my phone clean from useless apps.
Awaiting for your responses.
Thank you
Arfarsh
Best way is to root your phone & install a custom ROM without all the bloatware TMo put in. Plenty of how-tos in this forum, you need to spend some time & search & you will find what you need.
