[Q] Can I Custom ROMS Which is for Unlocked on T-Mobile Version? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am gonna buy a T-Mobile HTC One M8 from a friend. I want to use custom ROMs which is for Unlocked version. Is it possible or not?
Actually I want to use ROMs at One (M8) Android Development section. What I have to do that? I always used unlocked Samsung phones and don't know anything about this.
If you help till tomorrow, it's gonna be awesome!

[Q] Question: Recovery for HTC WIND alias T328w Dual SIM

Hi devs, so in time after reading a lot, it`s very unclear with the different models of this phone. I got my T328w from China last week, it`s rootet but has no recovery! So my question is really important because of the different models now.
Is there any dev who can start a thread in android development and edit the recoveries and if possible the ROMs for the single models, like:
Desire V
T328e
T328w
and so on!?
Nobody know exactly, which one is really for this phone, speciall for T328w!
Many THX....
I second what he asked ^
I agree. I just received mine as well and it is charging (initial) as I type. I know the following about model numbers:
This phone is the t328w, and it's called the HTC Wind.
Unfortunately, there was another HTC model called the HTC Wind, although that may have just been a codename. Also, this phone has been referred to as the HTC Desire V.
Hopefully, a Dev or Moderator sets up a section of XDA-dev for this phone, as it is selling like mad over in China, especially at the $319 price point. (I paid $426 after paying for shipping and taxes, etc.)
Thanks in advance!
Wrong section :banghead: Please keep all question related threads in the Q&A section. Thank You.

Have you found the recovery yet?
I found a recovery that works. I have written up a full guide for anyone wanting to try it. I don't have any problems getting into clockwork mod recovery on my t328w. Good luck!

Are you S-OFF or bootloader unlocked? If not you can achieve both by using Sunshine which is an all in one root/s-off/bootloader unlock pretty much. Only downside is it costs $25. If you're using the international variant(which I assume you are since you're posting in international forum) then you can also request an unlock code to unlock your phones bootloader using HTCDev. This however will only allow you to do so much and I recommend Sunshine but either way will work. Once you have either an unlocked bootloader or S-OFF you can flash one of the custom ROM's from the Development section of the M8 forum. If you want stock Sense I recommend using Android Revolution HD, otherwise you can browse there yourself and find something you like.
Take note in order to flash anything you're going to need a custom recovery such as CWM or TWRP
TWRP can be found here & CWM can be found here
ARHD(Android Revolution HD) can also be found here
Also here is a good tutorial on how to do these things if you don't already know. I highly recommend doing some research for yourself and truly understanding what you're doing before you actually do any of it. As with anything you should always do your own research before doing something and make sure you're familiar with it and properly equipped to do it(equipped with proper knowledge).

[Q] posting in dev forums HTC ONE M8 VZW

Hi,
I'm trying to install the new Android HD 11.1 on my VZW HTC ONE M8, but wifi isn't working.
There's a post on the development forum relating to repacking the AHD.zip with older verizon kernel modules, but since I've posted less than ten posts elsewhere, I'm not allowed to reply in the thread.
Is anyone else trying to install this ROM on their VZW M8?

Why not pm the dev or any user there who can help you ?
You have to use the new boot.img from the Ota because the one on the rom is the old one and I can say once you do that it should work
And you have to post questions in the Q&A section, that's what it's made for !
Edit :
Fixed....thread = moved

I don't know, I've seen a lot of devs with signatures that state "Don't PM me asking for solutions..." Generally they stick to a simple "If you PM me with a problem then others won't see the solution to it either". So it needs to be discussed in forums... Understandable perhaps, if it's in the forums others could help as well and they won't have thousands of PMs with the same ridiculous questions.

Maybe make a thread in the Verizon Q&A section asking for help? You can then perhaps just give a shout out to the developer in question and maybe he'll head over there to read and help out. @dangerweenie << @ whatever the developers name is.
They don't really want a lot of questions and troubleshooting related problems to be discussed in the developer sections, that's what the Q&A sections are for. Those forums are strictly for discussing developer related issues.

Carrier locked questions? Get in here!

I'll start. I always read through threads and usually find my answer, thus I can't post in developer threads yet.
Is Mike's ARHD 43.0 compatible with Sprint? I got through 63 pages before giving up.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that unless you found it within the Sprint M8 development section, it isn't compatible. If you have the Sprint variant then it's best if you remain within the Sprint M8 device section.
PS. I've moved your thread to the Q&A section, that's where questions go.

I found this on that thread .. how can you missed it ?

Unless the ROM explicitly states it supports Sprint, it will not be compatible.
You may be able to replace the kernel and mess with some other things, to get it to work on the Sprint M8. But I agree, it won't be compatible without some tinkering.
BTW, the title of this thread makes it sound like its about carrier SIM lock, SIM unlocking, etc.
