Hi,
My nexus 7 recently got the 5.0.2 update notification but I didn't update as I'm rooted with TWRP Recovery installed.
What exactly do I need to do to update this device? My guess is somewhere along this:
1. Restore recovery-from-boot.p (To get back stock recovery)
2. Full Unroot on SuperSU
3. Update
4. Reflash TWRP and reroot.
Is that correct? Will I need to wipe cache or davlik cache afterwards using TWRP?
Thanks.
If you're on 5.0/5.0.1 already, download this ROM and flash it in TWRP:

I'm on KitKat (4.4.4) The 5.0.1 update never came to the LTE version. Also, I'd rather not flash the OS because I'd have to erase my Data.
Also, when should I wipe davlik cache? I know it gets wiped during a factory reset but is that the only time it should get wiped?
Bump (Is this allowed?)

Okay well I did it anyway. This thread may be closed.
Apparently stock recovery doesn't come back if you only rename that file back.
But yeah I'm on Lollipop now.

So i have successfully rooted my Note 8.0 (5110) but when I try to use CWM it says the 5110 isnt supported by CWM yet. I can get into CWM Recovery but it doesnt give me an option to back up and restore.
The only options I get are: Reboot System Now, Apply Update from ADB. Apply update from External Storage, Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition and apply update from cache.
I have been trying to get this to work for a couple hours and nothing seems to be working. Is there a way to get cyanogenmod on the Note 8.0 5110? Any help would be great. Thanks.
Sorry for the HUGE picture!

Use twrp, download goomanager from the play store, select menu, and select install open recovery.

That does not work either. It says no recoveries found. And then when I go to Flash Roms it freezes everytime on the confirm flash scren. When I click Yes it just stops working.

I am running stock 4.3 rooted. When I rooted I installed custom recovery. My phone has been choppy lately so in hopes that it would make my phone run smoother I tried to go into recovery (first time in ages) to wipe cache and dalvik. When I tried to go into recovery I got a "no commend' error and then regular stock Android recovery started. In the background was a dead android robot with a "!" symbol coming out of him.
I wiped cache with stock recovery and then selected the reboot option. The phone didn't reboot, I got "error!" message and that was it. I powered down, restarted and everything is back to the way it was. But what happened to my custom recovery? What should I do at this point to get it back?
Only thing I can think of is at some point I accidentally clicked on the OTA update notification. So my phone tried and failed to update because I'm rooted. Could that cause problems? What should I do?
Just Odin Philz Recovery

Hello,
I have a rooted Nexus 7 2013 WIFI (razor lmy48t) with TWRP (latest version). I tried to update to Android 6. This is not the first time I use to update. Here are the steps I use to run:
1. I downloaded the official images: razor mra58v
2. I executed:
> adb reboot bootloader
> fastboot flash boot boot.img
> fastboot flash cache cache.img
> fastboot flash system system.img
- I do not flash userdata since I want to keep my data
- I first make sure to flash the bootloader if the version has changed.
Then I restart in recovery mode (TWRP) to install SuperSU, I wipe cache and dalvik then reboot in system.
I am stuck since 1 hour on this screen:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Do you have an idea what's going on and what I could do ?
I will revert to lmy48t for the moment...
Thank you
UPDATE:
When running adblogcat, I saw a lot of logs related to camera, iptable, and it loops, as if something was failing and it keeps trying again and again.
I can attach the logs if you need!

first boot into bootloader
then open up fastboot on your PC and type:
fastboot flash recovery (name of the recovery file).img
if you dont know how to do that you need to do some more research before you go flashing roms.
but heres a quick video showing the process. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itqnkN8-eAY

You REALLY need to read...
If you did the above procedure you no longer HAVE original TWRP on your phone...
You replaced it with a new recovery that should flash the OTA...
Personally I use the stock recovery as that generally works as long as the system partition hasn't been altered with busybox/root/xposed framework...
i try to flash a custom rom via TWRP but it stucks always on the same step. (see screenshot)
Longest time i waited was 1 hour but it was still on the same status.
I tried different TWRP versions and different custom roms but it always stops.
For me it is no more possible to flash roms via TWRP.

Do you use the latest TWRP 3.2.1 from here?

yes, and tried older version, too
Yeah this totally sucks. Happened to me a bunch of times, I don't know what the cause is.
But you can fix it by flashing the latest MIUI official firmware using the MiFlash tool, making sure to wipe everything on internal storage (flashall + clean on MiFlash). Then reinstall TWRP, flash your ROM & Gapps... In other words, start completely fresh.
Maybe there's a way to fix it without wiping internal storage, but I haven't found it.
