[TIP/TRICK] How to get ICS blue in Text Notify Premium (& possibly other apps too)
I have been using Text Notify forever now on all my phones, so when I saw the Premium version is available (and for only 99c), I jumped at the chance to get custom colors for my "toast" style text notifications and support a deserving dev. Instead of listing all my favorite features of the app, I will leave you with a link.
I wrote the dev inquiring about how I can get the ICS blue. (those color slider things are not my strong point). He wrote me back almost immediately letting me know an easy little trick to accomplish this, and told me it was alright with him if I shared it here. He also added that the trick is not limited to his app, but can also work with other apps. I'm sure most of you themers already know these workarounds, but for others like me I hope this will be useful.
So on to the ICS blue color trick for Text Notify Premium..
1. Open Root Explorer and go to the highest folder level you can (should have acct, cache, config, d, and data folders ect.)
2. Navigate to data/data/com.riley.textnotifydonate/shared_prefs/
3. Long press com.riley.textnotifydonate_preferences.xml, choose Open With, then select Text Editor.
4. Change the value of the color you want to change (textcolor = text color,
textbackground = text background, emailcolor = email text color,
emailbackground = email notification background, if I remember everything correctly). Change the value to -13388315. That will be the ICS Blue.
5. Click the back button, choose Yes to save changes. You [must] delete the .bak file it creates.
6. Open TN and click on the setting you changed just to make sure everything changed correctly. It should be the value you want when you open it up.

That was part of the conversation I had with the dev this morning before he added an outline color, rounded edges, & time to display the notification. You can change the outline color the same way. Here is a screenshot of how I have mine set up:

Honestly I have about 2000 wallpapers that change every 20 mins or so.. (Wallpaper Changer). Tonight I will dig in my folder for this one and upload it for you.
It MAY be included in the "Wallpaper Collection" link in my sig, but maybe not, its been a while since I updated it.. Guess its time to do that.

Hmmm.. The idea of the app, to me anyways..is that when your playing lets say, GTA3, you dont have to stop running from the cops to see a "you have reached 25% of your mobile data" text message. However, if you are beating up on a hooker and you get a "Honey I just went into labor" text message, you can think about pausing the game and going to the hospital. Adding a quick reply that would pause the game, or worse, open a quick reply when you touch the toast notif would imo defeat the purpose of the app. But again that is just my opinion and the dev can/will add any option he wants, that's just my thoughts on the idea.
EDIT: Maybe you would enjoy the quick reply feature of "Handcent" or a similar SMS app? If you haven't tried that yet maybe give it a go?.

When I got my Nexus 7 I release the Evangelion NERV theme so I wanted to make this a thing :silly:

yes that one, sorry for being a little unclear , i think the reason why i felt its empty is because i use pie control, looking forward to the next update

Bought to support. It looks great, but there seems to be some bugs for me. Getting "F0MAX" for the temps on weather similar issues for the smaller weather bar. I'm on the latest PA if that helps.
Also, do you think there'd be anyway to get a stocks ticker included in there? Maybe where the "Identification Lookup" section is since it kinda looks like a ticker already?

The weather bug is usually caused by disabled GPS access. You can try choosing your "weather provider" and "location" in UCCW's settings, that should fix it!

Once again, an amazing theme! Was looking forward to this one, especially after I installed the app Cyman Mark 2. Now I've got a theme to match my digital JARVIS butler! Set it up on my Galaxy Nexus.

Just like jnewman1991 said, if you turn on your hotspot mode, it will start working. Check the video tutorial again for details, I explain all about it there!

Yeah, I own a N7 myself and it works perfectly, or maybe even better on it since the screen is larger.

After a bit more playing around, everything seems to be working well except for the upcoming schedule area, which doesn't seem to be updating after adding a new event.

Bought it, works great! There a way to change the temp from C to F in Jarvis 2?

It might not get updated instantly but on my nexus 4 it updates relatively fast. Are you running a lot of stuff in the background maybe?

Thanks man! Go to the UCCW app and then its settings. You should be able to change it from Celsius to Fahrenheit over there.

I want to start with saying that this theme is an paid theme through google play but I attached the uzip for the widget to left.
In other word, that one is free of charge and modifiable!.Just wanted to let that be said before anyone goes rampage cause I put a lot
of work in making this. The 4 months of wait for UCCW to implement high resolution support was terrible (not complaining!) ;_;
The last screenshots shows the beta version I created. As for now, the theme takes up the whole screen as you can see in the other screenshots.
To emphasize, I tested this on my Nexus 7, the widgets should fit perfectly.
If you're a N4 user you might have seen it over there as well. I thought I maintain a thread here as well since after all, I'm a N7 owner!

I'm using AOKP rom so the feature is built in to the settings where you only have to choose which image to replace with.

Ok, one issue I changed some hotspots, now the widget shows up blank (white). I assume just remove the widget and set it up again? Didn't see a refresh setting in UCCW.

Did it work out in the end? Sometimes uccw shows white widget when refreshing for a split second, but it should get back to normal right after that.

Didn't do it on my vibrant, so just removed and readded it and edited it all at the same time. Had a few moments where it just showed image place holders and no images.

Did you maybe consume all the ram available? Another thing, how does the widget look on the vibrant? It got a display of 480 x 800 after all and the theme was recommended to be used on a 720p screen.

Who knows, vibrant i know is pretty much empty software wise. Screens attached.

You can see the ram consumption in settings, sometimes uccw can take up to 80mb which is one of the reason I recommend this on a phone with at least 720p (those phones usually have decent specs). Thanks for the screenshots, how does it look in real life though? I will assume the text is barely readable?

369mb for memory under the settings.. Running Paranoid Android 2.54 (android 4.1.2). Text ain't too bad, I have it setup in phablet mode anyways to get more space on the home screens.

That should be enough! You might want to send a letter to the UCCW developer as I never had this issue before. And thanks for telling me that the text was readable, I havent personally tried it on that resolution yet.

Yeah, I have no idea what is taking google so long to review my account. Just sent them another email (an hour ago) asking them if you're even working.

Gotta love Google... I know one of their things, if an app is downloaded from any updates have to be done through them as well. Not to mention anything within the app can't be downloaded from outside sources either. Do I sense, Apple's methods coming to the play store? lol

Yeah, they became very strict about that. Just emailed them earlier today and they said they never got the information about my identity so I had to send them again....

Transparent Notifications

Hi there.
I'm planning on getting the 2013 Nexus 7 again. I miss the high-resolution screen and the vanilla Android OS.
I sold it because i feel the 7" screen is not enough and compounded by the "annoying" occupancy of the Notifications bar on the top and the bottom thus making the 7" screen look like only 6".
Now, i have heard and seen videos that you can make the Notifications Bar (top & bottom) transparent so you can make full use of the real estate.
Is this true? Any way i can do this?
Please advice. Thanks.

Just use KitKat and a launcher that supports it.
I go farther and I use xposed+GB and don't even use the navigation bar at all, and use the pie controls in GB, and the status bar only appears when I pull down from the top, so 100% of my screen is always in visible at all other times.

When I want to see notifications, I just pull down and they show up, the pie controls open when I drag from right or bottom (configurable).

But there are dozens of Kit Kat launchers out there.
I'm looking for the full Google Experience and Google Now KitaKat launchers.

Yup, it's the real thing...transparent bars (in KitKat), always listening for OK Google, swipe from left for Google Now, etc.

Does not ask me to install anything, I click the link, it does it's little circle animation from 0-100% and it's downloaded to my PC. Probably put up an ad trying to get you to install it, block that crap.

So i had this feature in setting on my note 3 rom called Floating Notifications (not the app). On the note 3 u would have to add 2 apks and the line of text:

I remember having this issue last time, if u look under notifications the stock messaging app should be able to be selected there. Last time i think it was a code error but i cant figure out why it wont work.
If anyone would like to give it a shot ill throw up the 2 apks and we can go from there. Its a really cool way to get notifications. I know the issue is where I am adding the lines in the csc files. It obviousy is not the same as the note 3. If someone can help me out and find out how to get this fully working ill gratefully donate 20 bucks

to two csc files. Others.csc and features.csc. This is what i have so far..
I remember having this issue last time, if u look under notifications the stock messaging app should be able to be selected there. Last time i think it was a code error but i cant figure out why it wont work.
If anyone would like to give it a shot ill throw up the 2 apks and we can go from there. Its a really cool way to get notifications. I know the issue is where I am adding the lines in the csc files. It obviousy is not the same as the note 3. If someone can help me out and find out how to get this fully working ill gratefully donate 20 bucks

I think you need the actual s5 stock message apk but i dont think it works with the gn4

I just got my Note 4 a couple days ago and I haven't rooted it yet. As soon as I do I will look into it. Im coming from the Note 2 but I have some experience with adding S5 & Note 3 features/apps to the Note 2 and I don't think it will be too much trouble. If somebody else gets to it first I hope they will share it.

Is this the same thing?

Lol.. not that i know of..
Go to messages.. then click the 3 dot settings and choose message settins.. go to notifications. . Then see if its there
I did install those 2 apks you provided.. it dosnt do a floating window.. let me try the xml edits

Ah I see. I was using hangouts as my default. Thought that was in the regular settings menu. Thanks!

hm, what all does this show for notifications? also what if u have multiple notifications from like 4 different things such as texts, missed calls, updates

It's native to the Note 4 messaging app. In messaging, settings, notifications, check pop up display.
I haven't made any CSC edits, to that feature. I'm almost sure it was there when I bought the phone on day one.
EDIT: After reading the thread more thoroughly, I'm confused. Are we talking about what you mentioned on the first page, post 5?

All i did was check Popups and it does the same popup in pic. And I was in DI Radio. Not sure whats going on or different about it with the files.

Do you also have the floating window settings in your main settings?
I dont know honestly... i had already added apks and tossed in the csc edits for them.

Definitely no floaters over here either. But if the end result is the pic that was posted with the .. Anywho.., i need coffee. Good job on getting it working @Team DevDigitel

Lol.. im disappointed now.. im wondering if there is something else thats missing here.. transparency in the floating messages dosnt work...i just wonder if the pop up message is the same thing. . Agreed.. coffee it is..

Im thinking it is. But i dont have all those options that you do under FloatingWindows. Its definitely different from that aspect and more customizable which regular stock cant do. Youre moving in the right direction!

I guess until the op has responded yes or no to the solution then im unsure of what he really is looking for here..
