Hi I have flashed cyanogen mod 11 to my galaxy ace 2 but it's too big for the internal storage. Can anyone point me to a solution?
I have done an extensive search of XDA but I can't find a fix. Apologies for the new thread but I'm stuck.
Thanks in advance.

I have read a few other items in various spots throughout the interweb but I am just not able to find anything that solves my problem. I just flashed my phone with the following:
Rom
[TeaM VeNuM] The Blu Kuban JB GB27 Odexed
Modem
GB27
Kernel
3.0.31-1014481 via tGB27_Agats_Recovery .zip
I formatted my "internal storage" just to make sure I did not have anything wrong with that and have plenty of space on my external storage sd card. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to resolve this because the only reason I flashed in the first place was because I was having this issue on my old rom and some of the forums suggested flashing a new rom, so I did. Thanks in advance for the assistance and the hard work everyone puts in getting these updates out to us.
So the question is what? Moving apps to sdcard? More info on the precise nature of your issue.

Yeah, sorry about that. Any app I try and move gives me that error. Plenty of space on both my internal storage and my actually SD card.
I'm hoping someone has a suggestion for this? Do I need a different Kernel, ROM, etc...?
Same problem

I am experiencing the issue on my Galaxy Note, although I am running it stock with no custom ROM etc.
Hello, I'm new in this forum, but Mr. Member in forum MADTEAM.
recently won a Galaxy W, and installing CM9, Cm10.1 custom rom, my external sd is not recognized by the custom rom.
This does not happen with the Stock rom 2.3.6. Can anyone help me resolve this problem??
I am very grateful!!

Hi there, thanks ElGzzar for your solution, it was enormly helpful for me altough i do not consider myself a noob. I'm on Ehndroix III for I-8150 (awesome rom from Nitrox Team) and had an issue with external sd not beeing recognized to be accessed as mass storage on pc. Since i've backed up my data and reformat card via CWM everything works flawlessy. Weird was, that by reverting to a former ICS nandroid backup (Rem ICS UX 1.7) sd card was recognized, but back on Ehndroix III it did not work although it did before. I tried also RemICS by 4.1.2 by Tquetski (awesome S4 looks and really smoth and awesome) and there was the notice that sd card was damaged. I think this experience could really help others to master their issues with external sd card problems.
So guys try first to reformat after backing up what's on your card because that might be very helpful.:fingers-crossed:

Put any ROM you want to flash on your external and reboot back into recovery.

Just transfer the files to a micro sd card. If you don't have one or can't for some reason, you could always flash back to the stock ROM with kies or odin, and then transfer the files back to your phone.
thanks a lot, up and running !
though i have a camera problem, i'm assuming this is ROM related so i'll post it in the PA Nightlies.
thanks a lot !

Did you try searching the forum for the answer before posting this? I assure you this has been covered at least a hundred times with various explanations and fixes.
Short version is that you probably made a CWM backup of your old ROM before flashing this one. It is saved to internal memory and taking up a ton of space.

I also had this issue after installing a few Rom's with just the standard factory reset wipe. It was fixed by switching to Philz recovery, (I was using TWRP but there is know issues with formatting your internal storage with that recovery.) And formatting the internal storage. Keep in mind this wipes the drive. Worked for me. :good:
thanks guys i found out what was the problem
Awesome. What was it? So others with that issue can use this for reference.
And also. Are you on Sprint? Be careful using anything from the T-Mobile section on your phone if you are. If not, you should update your sig info.

Backups in CWM are automatically stored in /data/media/ and the standard data wipe tends to preserve that folder. An easy fix that doesn't involve wiping your whole internal storage would be to move your backups from that location to your SD card... problem solved.
Hey guys!
I'm new here and in general, new to all these rooting and flashing and all.
Just have a question for you tech wizards here.
Had just upgraded my Note 2 N7105 from CM 10.1 to CM 10.2 on 4.3 and i was tinkering around when I noticed something.
Somehow a whole chunk of my internal storage (around 7gb out of 10gb) was taken out and labeled as System Data. (you can see from the attached pic.)
So here i was wondering, does the ROM actually take up that much space for its system files or did I forget to do something?
Had cleared cache and dalvik cache as well as did a clean flash of the ROM. Help anyone? =)
Its occupied by system files..so no need to worry

The ROM is also explained in the xda-developers-wiki.
