Hello. I currently reside in Pakistan and I'm using LS-980. I'm using the GSM Sim. Although I'm able to use H+ with max speeds of 11mpbs, but I can't get LTE working. My SIM Card does support LTE, but in my phone it isn't working. Please help me out. Thanks in advance. And I'm using CloudyG2 2.2, the one which uses G3 rom as a base.

Have to be more specific than "can't get LTE working".
Which G2 do you have? There's lots and the different versions support different frequency bands. Which frequencies does your carrier use? Sounds like a classic case of can't be helped as the phone won't support the necessary LTE frequencies.

Hi,
I searched whole Galaxy Note 2 Forums for my question but did not get direct answer. My question is
Can I use AT&T Galaxy Note 2 (SGH-i317) in India and get 3g data as is without making any modification to Bands?
or
Should I enable AWS (TMobile 3g/4g) bands in this phone to use 3G in India.
If anybody is using this phone in India, let me know how / which carrier in India are you using.

Depends what bands your carrier uses. The phone (without the AWS hack) supports 850/900/1900/2100 MHz for 3G.

I thought it supports only triband for 3g (900MHz being unavailable). Can you please confirm that SGH-i317 supports 900MHz for 3G.

I can't confirm that it actually works, other than this screenshot from my i317 (I did the AWS hack, which is why 1700 MHz comes up). GSM carriers in the US use 850/1900 (AT&T) and 1700/1900/2100 (T-Mobile) for 3G. So I can't see if 900 MHz works:
http://db.tt/WTFsWwwa
However, I don't think the phone will show bands that it doesn't support, so it should work. I have a hard time believing the phone is only Tri-Band, when my Galaxy S3 i9300 is quad-band (850/900/1900/2100 MHz) UMTS.
I know that the Verizon version works with 900 MHz because on Samsung's websites, it's quad-band UMTS. Yes, the Verizon version can also do GSM. It comes unlocked as well. You just have to use root and an APN application to add your carrier's APN, or just install a custom ROM that enables the APN menu.
I actually had the exact opposite question. I am planning on buying the Galaxy Note II (N7100) in India and I wanted to know if the 3G facility would work for any GSM provider in the United States?? I wanted to know if all the N7100 models (including the ones in India) are Quad band 3G. If so I guess the AT&T 3G should work as quad band would be compatible with the 850/1900 frequencies used by AT&T. Any help in this regard would be appreciated. I hope to be in the US from September for studies and thus wanted to be sure Id be able to use this phone for 3G there.

Im using the att note 2 i317 in india on airtel network. Currently on cleanrom MA4 . Speed is decent. I get anywhere between 4 to 8 mbps during good signal

Thanks for confirming. I was worried that I will miss out on 3g because of this 900MHz.

I travel India frequently and have US (AT&T) and India (Vodaphone) SIM, I just swap the sim and everything works great. I am on cleanrom 4.8. No issues and great Internet speed in Mumbai. Even I was able to do RDC without any issues.
Thanks.

The same problem is getting me as well. According to the Network provider(WaridTel Pakistan) this model of HTC One M8 is not supported in Pakistan or Carrier Lock something even the LTE option is appearing in network modes. Meanwhile 3G and edge is working perfectly.
HTC one Mdoel Name: OP6B160
Network: waridTel (LTE 1800 MH)
I am considering to buy this set.
G2 Ls980.
Will this set work with GSM frequencies?
Does 2g/EDGE/3G/4G work on it? (GSM)
Thanks in advance

Thanks a lot. It works supports GSM fine.
What about 3g? Does it support that as well? It says CDMA while other mobile specs mentions UMTS.
If you own this set. Can you confirm if the GPS works without internet?

Hi AhmedRana
I have ls950 and am using in India with GSM operator Vodafone. Both 2G and 3G data work fine.
I could not test 4G As India is using LTE band 40 which is not support by ls980.
I think the phone GPS needs data connection to work.
Hope it helps

You know, if you just do a simple Google search, you'd find quicker answers. Works all the time.
LS980 supports -
GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, UMTS 2100*
LTE CAT 3, HSPA+ 21 Mbps*
EDGE, GPRS Class 10, UMTS, HSPA+, WCDMA, LTE Bands 25/26/41*
http://www.lg.com/us/cell-phones/lg-LS980-g2/technical-specifications
i m using this phone in india with cloudy g2 2.2 works good on all networks 2g 3g .. gps works without data connection..
buy it .
I am using this phone on Cricket in U.S. which is ATT (GSM) and I'm getting HSPA+ speeds.
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Free mobile app
The LS980 (Sprint G2) works fine on 2G, 3G/UMTS, and 3.5G aka HSPA and HSPA+ networks here in the U.S. for AT&T and T-Mobile - it will not work on any LTE networks in the U.S. except Sprint's network because it is limited to using their particular LTE bands (bands 25, 26, and 41) which do not have any crossover for AT&T (bands 2, 4, and 17) or T-Mobile (bands 2, 4, and 12).
With the last G2 I had (might be getting another one later today, another LS980) I was easily pulling down close to 39Mbps using T-Mobile's HSPA+ without issues which is just shy of the theoretical maximum of 42Mbps so it worked great for me, YMMV as always.
for 3G, isn't LS980 limited to UMTS band 2100 ?
what about the other bands 850/900/1900 ?
Back of phone's box. See by yourselves.
I have a HTC One M8, t-mobile, rooted ,s-on , unlocked sim , new sim for 4g ...but I don't have 4g, only 2g, what should I do ... I live in europe albani
You should find out what frequency bands your carrier uses and match that up with what your phone has.
Chances are you have a phone that does not support your carriers 4g bands and its reverting back to the more basic 2 g stuff.

Hey, Which country and network you are trying to get the LTE working on F180?
LTE work super fine on F180. It depend on the Network however, if you put the baseband of Europe and and try to get the LTE working in Asia on some network that not transmitting on those frequencies ofc it will not be working

Thank you.
but i've found out why.
Because I'm using the IMEI of E975 on my F180s, so that's impossible for me to use the 4g.
So i've restored my stock IMEI and 4G works fine!
