So here's something strange. I wanted to snap off a shot and send it the friend I was talking to at the time, and when I pressed my camera shortcut, it says "unable to use camera during calls" and then the camera app just closes to the homecreen.
Is this normal? If so, is there any solution via xposed or root app (I'm on dev edition)?

you need wanam exchange/root to do that
I do have my phone rooted with wannam installed, do you know where the setting is for that?
In the meantime, my workaround was to install a third party camera (in this case Google Camera) and it works fine during calls, if that helps anyone.

This Mms should have the call from messaging motion. I did not make or code this app. I made a cherry picked build and pulled this apk out to share. I'm not sure if it will work, but it should.

Installation:
Delete stock messaging app
push this app to your system/app folder and reboot.
Or you can flash this zip in recovery- thanks to Justin860

Yes you need to delete secmms first. I will add that to OP.
You will lose the lock screen notification.

App worked perfectly after I cycled the motion switch in the settings.
Thanks much
Is there anyway to add lock screen notification? Other than that, this messaging apk was awsome
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Followed instructions in OP
Are any permission changes needed?
It lags badly when i attempt to go into the app, i'll hit the icon on my home screen and it will hang for a good second before opening
It also will not let me click on any existing message thread once i receive a message until i go and "compose" a new message to someone in the list, then have to back out and it will work
I also noticed that once I send a mms when i go to compose just a text it will re-insert the picture i JUST sent
Any one else with these issues?
I'm going to run fix permissions from CWM and also maybe reset the MMS app data and delete pre-exsisting messages from before the change from stock to the modded cm9 one
**EDIT**
I cleared app data for the messages app
Fixed Permissions in CWM
Wiped Cache and Dalvik
Deleted all existing messages
It appears to be working now, so just a heads up for anyone with my issues, try what i did and it should clear up

OK after running this over night it is clear that this does NOT function the same way as the stock motion, here is what I mean
I was curious how the motion detected that you wanted to call the contact, the stock motion requires the phone to be taken from texting orientation to talk orientation AND detects when your close to your ear with proximity sensor, it will not work if you just cover the proximity sensor, it actually requires the motion too...
This modded "motion" enabled messaging app only looks for proximity, so if you move your hand over the sensor when typing in landscape mode it will try to call the person
In real world use, with the stock app I never accidentally dialed anyone
With this modded app, I have over 15 accidental calls just last night alone
Also, it will work weather or not you have the "motion" for it toggled in the motion settings

Why would you need a third party app when the stock app can do the job?
Sent from my GT-I9082 using Tapatalk 2
3rd party apps usually have features not found in the stock app. Go sms pro for example, has many themes and a private box which filters messages from selected contacts and requires a password to access.

I use the stock sms program, it works fine and protecting it with smart app protector ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sp.protector.free&hl=en )
Yes

Yes I need, because the stock app, have a option to request a report of a successful message sent, but, he does a notification when you receive the report, Most app just put a sign in the message, indicating that was successful sent.
I Tried another applications like Message + and Go Sms Pro, but they always sent using SIM Card 1.
Go sms support dual sim
for those who come here from google search.
Now Go SMS pro does support dual sim phone, include grand. I dont really like go sms, but it seems go sms the only app does the function
Just switched to the LG G3. The messaging app lags to the point of being frozen most of the time. I have many messages in the app (500+), maybe that's part of the reason. Yet it's lagging like crazy... To the point of my thinking of ditching the phone altogether.
Can anyone please help how to fix this?

Use another messaging app? Textra, EvolveSMS, you name it
Same here. Ridiculously laggy.
maybe save attachments to internal instead of external.
and delete OLD messages.
What's the best third party messaging app?

What mobile service do you have? If on Verizon you can use the Verizon messaging app from the play store, it will also allow you to call using your cell number from the app natively as long as you have volte enabled on your phone

Yup, I use Verizon messaging.
I have AT&T, I tried the app. It's not very good

You have to enable it but after that I use textra without any issues so far. Enabled as primary then switch to whatever messaging app suits you best.

I don't mean to sound like a noob. But I've been wondering for awhile now. Why won't Samsung stock message app send pics when connected to WiFi. I always have to disconnect WiFi to send and get pics but not from most 3rd party apps. Is this just me cause I'm using GSM sim? But I think I had this problem with another Samsung phone. If someone could give me some insight that'd be awesome. Thanks!
Try textra

Thanks for your reply. But I was just being inquisitive and wondering why the stock app behaves that way.
All other phones I've had send mms whether WiFi is on or not. And like I stated already, 3rd party apps work as they should. Is it a Samsung thing or sprint?
I don't know cause ever since stage fright came out I've just been using textra due to the only text messaging app that has the protection for stage fright.
