[Q] 1st Gen Kindle Fire will not load TWRP or FFF - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a 1st Gen Kindle Fire with 6.3.3. I wanted to root the Fire so loaded Kindle Fire Utility (KFU) and Safeboot to my windows 8.1 computer and unzipped both to my Desktop. I set computer to use unsigned Drivers and loaded the drivers from KFU (0.9.9), then I rooted the Kindle with Safeboot. I went back to KFU and loaded the Google Extras so I would have Goodgle Play. SU was loaded on my Kindle when I rooted it. All worked great, and still does. After a couple of days I thought I would load CM11. I am a Samsung guy with an S4 running 4.4.2 so it seemed like a good idea.
When I went back to KFU neither FFF nor TWRP would load. KFU run.bat status showed ADB Status as OFFLINE and Boot Status as UNKNOWN. When trying to load the fff process stops at "waiting on device". Device Manager shows Android Phone with Android ABD Interface.
Also my Kindle DOES NOT show up in Windows Explorer.
I have stripped my USB Kindle drivers off of my computer, plugged in my Kindle and the Android Phone in Device Manager shows Composite ADB Interface. My Kindle shows up and will connect in Windows Explorer and I can access all of the files with USB cable. I have tried two different good USB cables, and all 4 USB ports on my computer. All are the same result.
I do not know what happened between rooting my Kindle and adding some stuff to now when I can not access my Kindle with USB cable using KFU Drivers. I did M5 check sums at the beginning an all was well.
Have I missed a menu item in SU on my Kindle? Do you have any other suggestions?

KFU will not work with 6.3.3 to flash FFF/TWRP

Be sure that in your computer > Device Maanger > Kindle Fire is not marked with yellow triangle. This is the only reason it is not detected by the KFU 0.9.6 . It happened to me as well, but was able to re-root my kindle.

Trying to be as thorough as possible:
I am running a Kindle Fire with software version 6.3.1, which was previously rooted until software update. (Curse you Amazon!)
My computer has Windows 7 64bit
I downloaded adt-bundle-windows-x86_64 and ran SDK Manager.
Ran and closed Eclipse although I am not sure why or what to do with it.
Downloaded/installed:
Android SDK Tools
Android SDK Platform-tools
Android 4.2 and all attendant programs
All of the Extras including Google USB Driver.
Downloaded KFU v0.9.6.
Ran “install drivers” (Also omitted this step after uninstalling in subsequent attempts)
Ran “run.bat.”
In the cmd window that opens I get the KFU menu but under that is listed:
ADB Status: Offline
Boot Status: Unknown
I have also gotten:
ADB Status: Online
Boot Status: Unknown
This happens ad lib whenever it feels like it.
The Kindle never shows anything but the “You can now transfer files, etc” screen.
I have gone from the KFU menu to Bootmode Menu and chosen Normal (4000), as well as, Fastboot. It says “Oops...something went wrong. We are unable to locate your Kindle Fire. Make sure it is plugged in and powered on.” (It was.)
I have restarted both the Kindle Fire and the PC repeatedly. Uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. Uninstalled/reinstalled the software that comes with SDK Manager.
Device Manager says under ADB Interface that it is Android Composite ADB Interface. Occasionally, however, I have had it listed further down the list as Kindle with the Yellow Error triangle and I have manually installed the drivers from there.
Note: I have also tried:
KindleFireRootNew631 which didn't work at all for me.
SuperOneClick v2.3.3.0 which tells me alternatively that my device appears to be already rooted, which is most definitely is not, and nothing...just kills ADB server and then starts ADB server and then....nada... Although the Windows circle thingie keeps circling, the task manager says it is “Not Responding”.
I have moved the USB port that I am using, always on one of the Mobo backplate USB's.
Changed cables.
Used a different computer.
Have resisted the urge to factory reset the device and/or break it in half!
If you can still transfer files, move everything you want off to your computer, then factory reset. Then try reinstalling drivers and running kfu

Have you tried using a factory reset cable ??? as they are different than a regular data cable .for my 1st gen kindle fire i used the factory cable that came with my first kindle black and white that used the e- ink without any problems whatsoever .you should be able to browse the forums to find one for sale i'm pretty sure you can also buy one straight from amazon

[Q] Kindle Fire Root Gone Very Very Wrong

This is my second time rooting my Gen1 Kindle Fire. (The first time was very successful but stupid me, I went back to factory settings for no good reason).
From KF's updated software (6.3.2) I used Kindle Fire Utility 0.9.9, to install TWRP 2.6 and other google apps. I loaded TWRP and cleared cache etc. I then installed the new CM 10.1 SGT 7 rom. When i rebooted the KF, i didnt get the option to boot into twrp. What happens now is, it shows the orange Kindle Fire boot screen, and then continues to the CM10.1 boot screen. I may have installed CM10 over the KF software somehow. Now, my PC recognizes it as a Kindle Fire when I plug in the USB but there's an error in the device manager. Basically, KFU doesn't recognize it's a Kindle anymore. When I try to reboot it in recovery mode, it just does a regular reboot. Nothing about my KF looks like there's twrp installed in the background. I can't access it no matter what.
I tried sideloading Google Play and installing the TWRP Manager app but that doesn't do anything at all. I feel like my KF is going to be stuck like this forever. Any way to hard reset everything without TWRP? I have the proper "update.zip" file on the sdcard but I can't access any way to Wipe it and Install it.
Just so you know, the kindle isn't bricked it just seems like it's permanently stuck the way it is and my PC won't recognize its harddrive via USB.
Any suggestions?
Still no replies huh? Damn.
So when I turn on my kindle fire, the orange Kindle Fire logo shows up for a few seconds THEN the CyanogenMod boot screen comes up. I never get the option to boot into TWRP.
When I plug my KF into my PC, the Kindle Fire drivers get an error so i change it into an Android ADB Composite device. It still won't recognized the device properly. When I open up the console and try "adb devices" nothing shows as connected. I've installed the SDK and changed the files but it's the same thing. All that to say, the KFU no longer recognizes when the KF is plugged in.

[Q] Rooted Kindle 6.3.2 stuck in TWRP

I used the Kindle Fire Utility to root my Kindle 6.3.2 and then I screwed up. I think I accidentally used the 'Advanced Wipe' feature in TWRP and killed my Kindle.
Right now I can boot my Kindle to the TWRP recovery no problem. But I cannot get my PC to see the device so that I can sideload CyanogenMod or something similar.
When I plug my Kindle into my Win 7 PC it dings, it sees the usb connection, the and Kindle starts recharging so I know there is some connection. In Device Manager it shows that I have an Android ABD device.
But I cannot see the Kindle in Explorer so I can move the CyanogenMod .zip over to the kindle for installation.
I've tried every USB driver in the book and I am out of ideas. Also, I am a n00b at this so I hope I used all the terms correctly.
Help!
PS: As a side note, does Google Play still work with CyanogenMod? That is what started this whole mess - my CM Kindle would not recognize my Google Play games.
Thanks
