Hello guys, I have a HOX branded Vodafone Italy. For debrand just plain install a Ruu (can you tell me which one?) or must also unlock the bootloader before?

What is CID unlocking? If I were to buy an unlocked/unbranded phone do I still need to do this inorder to install a custom rom?
I have a T-Mobile branded desire which i unlocked via a code from the net so i could use a Vodafone sim in it if i debrand (to get froyo) will i get simlocked ???
as long as it get unlocked from code, you can flash it with any roms u want and you wont get locked again.

Have u tried the RUU from your operator,
let me explain i had a magic 32A from Vodafone, rooted the phone using a gold card, got some issues with the phone, before sending it to Vodafone, runned their RUU got the phone branded again
With My Desire, just finished the unroot today with an RUU

I've searched everywhere and I couldn't find the right answer for it.
I just got an M9 on Vodafone Ireland which turns to be the same as Vodafone UK,
but I want to receive the Update straight from HTC or WWE or Developer Edition as its the same hardware, there should be a way to do it!!
Is there any chance to convert my Vodafone M9 into International Version??

Unlock your bootloader (if not already done), get S-OFF, change your CID to an unbranded one (fastboot oem writecid HTC__001) and flash the corresponding RUU (latest unbranded RUU; instructions can be found in the google sheet in my signature). You may need to install some OTAs afterwards to get to the latest firmware version.
