[Q] How to create rooting tool for specific phone? - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

I recently bought Alcatel Idol 2 mini, and although it's nice phone I still want to root it. I have been searching for some root tool that can root it but there is no such thing. It seems that it will stay that way for indefinite time so I decided to find a way to root it myself and to create tool for that. Where do I begin? Is there some sort of manual how to create rooting tool, how to search for exploits in android build etc.

Confused about rooting methods

Hello everyone!
I'm new to Android, I've recently switched from iOS, and I'm starting to love the freedom of an open source platform! I'm trying to figure out the rooting methods etc, but I'm having trouble understanding some details, and after reading many guides I'm still confused. So, here is my question:
I use an htc desire, never rooted before, running 2.2 Froyo (OTA update). I want just a few things: Root access so I can use Autostarts application, manage applications that launch automatically, and get rid of some default applications I never use, like Stocks. Is it necessary to install custom rom etc as described in most guides, or is there an easy way just to get superuser privileges and make those modifications? Can I root my device since I'm running Froyo?
Thanks!

[Q] AT&T SCH-i467 to root or not to root

As the title states I have an AT&T Note 8.0 SGH-i467. I understand the concept of rooting but I am totally afraid to do it. From reading other posts, I am gonna go out on a limb and ask can my Note 8.0 can be rooted?? I understand the concept of having superuser access and being able to do all kinds of customizations but basically I just want to be able to use all of my apps in multiwindows. Then I found this thread on how to (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1985240) modify apps yourself but again, I am afraid to do that or I don't think I am that tech savvy to accomplish this. So my questions:
1) Do I want to root my tablet just to have all apps open in the multiwindow and take the chance??
2) Do I want to give it a try and just modify the apps I use most?? (Seems easier than rooting)
I love my Note 8.0. It is the best thing in my opinion. If I was able to use it as a phone like the 5100 I would not even be using my Note 2 phone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi
just install CWM recovery and backup your unrooted rom.
then root your rom or install new rom or anything you want.
if you don't like it jast restore your recovery.
Since SGH-I467 has a locked bootloader, rooting it is a challenge. Originally I was not going to do it knowing the difficulties, but when a file explorer complained it couldn't write to the external SD card without root, I know I must root it.
Please be aware SGH-I467M (note the ending M) is a different animal. The Canadian version's bootloader is UNLOCKED, and thus rooting it is a breeze!
With my SGH-I467 I tried many different methods. Finally I was able to root it using Kingo Root (not Kingroot). Kingo Root is actually a one click rooting method. Just proceed with the instruction by the program.

TracFone ALCATEL A564C Rooting - Is it impossible?

Hello,
I have a TracFone ALCATEL A564C. It's Android 4.4.2 and the kernel is 3.4.0. I have searched tirelessly for a way to root this phone, but to no avail. I've tried several one-click roots as well as a "manual" root method using the Android SDK and ADB. I find it extremely difficult to believe that it's impossible to root this phone. Has anybody, anyone, found some way to root the device? Would someone be willing to look into crafting a root solution?
Thank you.
Hope you've got 'er done.
Howdy,
I've got the same problem. It looks like you've tried more than I and I'm hoping you have since found a way.
My main reason to root is to use my phone to tether the car radio ... Also android 4.4.
I've found a post that says "WiFi tether router" from the playstore does work but it requires root.
Thanks for sharing what you've learned.
Dr Dan
Try King Root, the download is at KingRoot.net. I have the phone but never bothered doing it as I don't have money to get a new one or fix it if it gets bricked or soft bricked.

root access?

I can't seem to find any information regarding whether or not I can gain root access to my old dusty Nexus 7 (2013) to access my files, I can't remember my pin code on my secondary user account and i'd like to see what files i have on here before i wipe it and flash custom recovery/rom, are there no ways to exploit these things to just gain a root shell? will that even allow me to access my other users files or maybe theres another way to go about backing up all my user files before i unlock and end up wipin the device ? it's running an old MM 6.0.1 with security patch level at Aug 2016, it seems old enough to me where there would have to be a way to root without wipe, maybe with kali or something ?
Nexus Root Toolkit helps.... almost too well
I would suggest using the Nexus Root Toolkit by WugFresh It's pretty damn handy and easy to use
I would put links but I just made an account here and there are rules for noobs.....
Good Luck and Spaghetti Speed!

root for blu studio mini(2019)

Hello all,
I recently purchased this phone as a secondary phone. I was trying to find a way to root it, but it seems as though it is not supported by any current root method. I wanted to know if there was a way to root this phone that I am not aware of, or if there is any chance that one could be created in the future. I am looking to root this, since it is inexpensive(under 100) and can run android 9.0(with octocore and at least 2GB RAM). Am I wasting time in trying to get this rooted? If so, which root should I go?
Thank You,
NewBlu
I was also looking to root this phone. Pandora keeps crashing and I'd like to view it's program files.
