Yes, I searched, but couldn't find anything recent about Qi wireless charging on lollipop roms. Has any progress been made to get it to work or is there any rom that has it working? Will it be working on the official lollipop roms?

It always worked.... there was no 5.0 rom on which qi didn't work.
Well, it works, apart from the fact that the friggin display turns on as soon the battery reaches a certain level....no fox for that

Really?? What rom does it work on because it didn't work on the one I tried and I find these kind of comments in the 5.0 rom threads:
"Seems like the only non-working thing is wireless charging, which is common across all current LP ROMs. " and
"Wireless charging does not work on any LP ROM yet to my knowledge. It charges EXTREMELY slow. Not fast enough to be useful. "

Which roms, exactly? Official roms, CM12 and all their derivatives are charging well. Maybe you meant some strange AOSP derivatives?..
I use an official LG G3 qi charger (WCD-100), and i never encountered issues with it...
Ok. I've tried crDroid 5.0.2 and it didn't charge. Using a Kitkat rom based on g3 oem charges good. But I'll try another lollipop rom and see how it works.

I've seen the same behavior. For LP roms I've tried CM12, LiquidSmooth, and Illusion with no QI charging luck at all. It says "charging" but doesn't actually charge rather it continues to discharge the battery. Any KitKat rom works just fine. I have tried multiple doors, QI stickers, and chargers (TYLT Vu and Nokia DT-900). I'm at a complete loss on what is going on. I would be totally open to any suggestions on next steps.
Ok, I loaded up Illusion on G3 and it won't charge on my wireless charger. I think someone is mistaken about it charging because from everything I have read, it's not working on lollipop roms. It makes the charging sound, and even says on the battery display that its charging, but it's not. Maybe it works on official G3 roms in Europe, but not the custom ones for US phones.

Yep. That is exactly what I am experiencing.
Wireless Charging is fine....On-Stock V20B
I have a wireless Qi charger in the office, and its the same charger I have been using since my Nexus 4. Works fine with my G3-D855, both Kit Kat and Lollipop. As for Lollipop I am using V20B.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Isn't the V20B the international variant that has been released as official lollipop? But wireless won't work on the custom roms based on other variants.
Its always work on Lollipop ROM. I have a Samsung S4 Qi-Charger and its working fine. And you must use a 2.1 A Power adapter for your Qi-Charger in order for the Qi Charging to work in Ultimate state. I tried with PC USB its keep looking for hot spot.
Recently I ordered a Qi-infinity™_Portable_Wireless_Charger_Power_Bank_4000_ mAh and its work the best when not plugin to the power.
Here the inquiry to the manufacturer.

Subject: Qi-infinity™ Portable Wireless Charger Power Bank 4000 mAh
Message Body:
I ordered the above item from Amazon and received it yesterday. I noticed that if I plugin the power supply (either from my PC USB or my Phone charger) its seem that it's won't charge my LG G3 D855 nicely. Its keep looking for hot spot. But if i unplug it from power supply, it charge perfectly.
So is this some defect on this new charger or its a standard feature?
I like the design and color of this charger and do not wish to return it.
…
Dear Sir,
It has to do with bigger phones like LG G3 and Note 4 as current output of our wireless charger is around 1A. In future models, we will be boosting capacity to 1.5A but that will take few months as we need to redesign circuit board.
So to answer your question, no it is not a defect. It is more function of how it was optimized around smaller phones with 1A input.
Hope this helps but feel free to reach out to us for any further questions.
Best regards,
Qi-infinity team
So hopefully they will make a Qi-Charger with higher Output Soon.
And I have this with me too a week ago MobilePal (TM) Gen-2 Slim 10000mAh Qi Wireless Power Bank
Same thing, it claimed its work with G3 as long as use a 2.1 A power adapter. I love the idea of Power bank wireless charging because I can just stick them tightly together on my pocket and it'll charge wireless. But this charger is quite heavy.

Ok, well that could explain why some people have it working and some don't. I have a Nokia charge and it specs out at 750 mAh. Maybe I will try a different charger, but it's still weird that it charges under Kitkat and not under Lollipop roms.

Okay, this does not even seem to be a G3 issue, so much as Lollipop issue...as my fully stock 2013 Nexus 7 LTE just got the Lollipop update and now I can't get it to wirelessly charge anymore either. After spending like 10 minutes getting it on the pad, it finally started to charge, only to give up after a few minutes. I feel like this has to be some bigger bug in 5 that no one's admitting to yet
any fix ?
I am wondering the same thing. I keep trying my CM12 nightlies and looking for any signs of fixes but nothing to be found.

The only ROM that I have found that Qi wireless charging works with is Jasmine ROM. As far as I know AOSP and CM based ROMs do not support wireless charging. I am using the Verizon version of LG G3.

You are right my friend. I flashed Jasmine ROM and sure enough it works. So it's only AOSP roms? I can confirm the latest CM 12.1 nightlies do not support wireless charging.
Any New word??
Just wondering if there is any new word on if QI Wireless charging is working on AOSP Lollipop yet???

I'm having some issues getting my MHL adapter to behave properly. I have my E4GT running ICS MIUI, and I also have my work phone which is a sensation 4G running stock ICS, unrooted.
I ordered 2 different types of MHL adapter, a menotek and an official Samsung, and have been trying different combinations to get it to work on my 1080p TV.
1. MHL will work with both my E4GT and my work phone is they are running Froyo, but with no gamepad compatibility this is a dealbreaker.
2. No ICS roms I have tried will mirror over MHL. Mijz goodness just shows a black screen on the TV, whereas MIUI won't even show that (but it will change to landscape and lock rotation on the phone).
3. My work phone works 100% mirroring. This isn't ideal since my wish of MHL mirroring and gamepad compatibility is for my personal phone with all of my games on it.
4. Any combination of connecting the MHL power, HDMI cable, or connecting to the phone (Since I read the order *might* have an effect) is fruitless when running ICS builds of Mijz goodness, Viper, Recalked, or MIUI, on both adapters.
5. Searching the forums is fruitless, since most threads point back to threads with people either saying it should work out of the box, or no, it will never work since the source code for mirroring isn't released yet.
6. Both adapters are verified working with my work phone.
So the question is, what am I doing wrong? I noticed an HDMI mirroring notification comes up on my Sensation when mirroring, but nothing comes up on my personal phone. Is it missing a key program?
sounds wierd.. to answer some of your questions.. mhl support doesnt work with any aosp ics or jb rom that im aware of.. only tw based roms.. i havent had any issues with any tw based ics rom. i usually have hdmi to the adapter, then plug power to the adapter, then plug into the phone.

Well, I went back to the stock rom and sure enough MHL works. I haven't had luck with any other rom so far, even TW based roms.
It could be my TV, adapter, or any combination of things. I know stock works and I'm happy.

stock 4.0.4. I needed it to be ICS for gamepad compatibility. I flashed a couple of kernels and MHL mirroring is not kernel dependant, unlike when HDMI mirroring was implemented on EVO 4g.

I just tested it on my menotek adapter. It doesn't work, but it does with the OEM samsung adapter. They're $9 now.
The more recent versions of touchwiz broke compatibility with the Menotek adapters.
You might be able to get them to work in DVI mode, but they fail HDMI initialization.

That's a great price. Any chance you have a link? My search finds them for $12+.
I'm also finding this one at Monoprice, which seems like a decent price ($10.20).

Hi guys
I want to use my t989 as SNES/PSX console with HDMI output+PS3 controller, or just use my TV for see my series, videos and photos without DLNA of connect it via USB cable. It's a feature I want
A friend of mine borrow me a MHL-HDMI cable (I ordered mine already) and I tried with stock and other ROM's, I have output once with CM10.1 but can't have it anymore and according to docs and IRC chat that functionality is undocumented and will never work. Only touchwiz based ROM's have TV-OUT, do you know which ones support that? Is there any chance to get this for CM or others?
Thanks in advance

List of ROM's supporting MHL-HDMI
- Slimbean 4.1
- Liquid smooth rc9 (according to thread pointed out by nreaction)

In my experience with the MHL adapter it will drain your batter to basically nothing while using it even though it is plugged into a power source. When you get done playing you're going to have to charge your phone back up .

There is an app that will turn your phone screen off but keep your MHL connection live and then your battery problems are solved. I just can't for the life of me remember the name of it. I have used it and it works great though.
Well I just ordered one so if you think of the name of the app please let me know. Thanks

MHL won't work on stock rom cause this phone use slimport by default.
I'm running CM10.1 (one of the latest nightlies) and the MHL is fully functional via HDMI cable.
Remember that you have to connect power supply to the converter in order to make it work.
Tried on latest cm10.1 stable and it works great.

RootBox supports MHL. And I've successfully used an MHL-to-HDMI converter from monoprice.com to show/play local pics, local videos, local music, and YouTube on our HDTV.
Haven't tried MHL on any other ROMs.

Confirm to work on stock JB 10D rom. I bought my MHL adapter almost 2 years ago, from dealxtreme.com,for my old galaxy s2. I sold the phone, but i kept the adapter for my next phones. It seems to be working ok. It's a cheap adapter, paid 10bucs for it.They even gave me an USB OTG adapter with it .
Thanks for the feedback. I'll try connect this again tonight. I've updated to Liquid smooth rom (this should also function as with the raw CM 10.1). I'll post my result by then. thanks.
I tried to plug it again but no progress. It still doesn't recognize the connection. I'm now using RootBox rom.

As i used it on cm10.1there were no notifications about connected in notification bar or in phone itself.
But its surely working, just plug the micro USB to your phone, the HDMI to your TV and charger to socket and change the channel in tv to hdmi1 or hdmi2..... depends on where you have pluged in your HDMI. And you should See your phone in TV.
And again, you will get no notifications that it is connected to phone or tv, on mine was the same, but works 100%. Just plug everything together and choose right channel.

Which build of RootBox? MHL was only added in the middle of June, I believe. Defintely works on the June 21 build, haven't checked the June 24 build that I'm currently running, but it should work.
Which MHL adapter are you using? Does it has a full-sized USB plug as well as the micro-USB and HDMI? Is the USB plugged into anything?
I found the one I have won't work unless the full-sized USB plug is connected to the TV as well as the HDMI plug (needs it for power).
RootBox Rom June26 build. I was using a Samsung brand MHL to HDMI adapter. It was working with the stock rom. looks like this one :
http://mag.divineo.cn/magento/mc-mhla.html
The resolution of mhl on cm10.1 is 1080p and cannot be changed.
If your TV is not FullHD, you may get no signal.

Could you guys direct me to an adapter that will work with LG OG? I'm looking to buy one, but am a little confused. Some say Samsung adapters will work, but I've read online that there are different versions (difference in PIN's?). Which version should I buy 5 pin or 11 pin. Does th MHL version matters, 1.0 or 2.0 ?
11 pin is for Samsung, will not work.
Mine actually is from Energizer brand (brings a 11 pin adapter too) , I had another one before.
I think that every MHL 5 pin will work.

There are a lot of ROM / kernel variants that will give you USB Dac, OTG charging on a 2013. I personally have 2 Nexus 7 2012's with USB ROM and Timur Kernel as home stereo sources that I stream from Squeezeplayer.
I just did KitKat on my 2013 Nexus 7 but CM10.2 and Glitch kernel will do car mount stuff. AOSP with ElementalX will also work.
Heck once a 2012 Nexus 7 is in the car it doesn't look any different than a 2013 or lack any capabilities. If I put one in my next car I'll put a 2012 in there.

It's a 2013 LTE.
Unfortunately this is not a complete setup yet. But I was planning on doing it similarly to the setups I've seen on the 2012s.
OTG Y-cable to a 12V source, USB hub. Flash drive, and then a DSP to my amps.
Probabily will run CM 11 for the OTG support.
I've tested the battery life though as you asked. screen on, gps running, and bluetooth and with the max 1.1 amps in it at least held steady battery. it didn't drop, and didn't charge.

Does the LG G3 have an enabled Quick Charge 2.0 system? Do I need a 3rd party charger to take advantage of that?

The G3 charges hella fast anyway, seems to charge in a similar time to the X.

I read this months ago. From there:
In this test, the LG G3 trails behind both the One (M8) and Galaxy S5 in charge time, although it's quite close to the One (M8). This is strange, especially because the LG G2 has the same battery size. However, this can be explained by the change to charging protocol, as it seems that the G3 doesn't support Qualcomm's Quick Charge technology. Instead, signalling is done over BC 1.2. As we'll see later in the article, this is due to the charger chip used.

Real life scenario is My G3 charges just as fast as my personal preference. So I really dont bother
The G3 does not have QC 2.0.
All phones sporting QC 2.0 are listed on the Qualcomm site, and its missing the G3

LG decided not to use QuickCharge on this device as it causes too much damage to the battery in the long-term.
It would be possible to activate it with a custom rom/kernel though (infact CloydyG3 rom already enables "smart charging" which utilises QuickCharge when it thinks you need it)

Interesting. May I ask you the source of this info as to why it wont benefit in the long-run whereas the world moved to this technology?

I wouldn't say the world moved to it as other than Sony, no line really uses it. Listed was updated 29 Oct too.
