I just got my white F460K in the mail today, and I took one software update to go to F460K10f.
I'm considering a PurpleDrake root, and I want to know if fellow Korean G3 owners are able to accept OTAs while rooted (and more particularly, rooted with PurpleDrake). I've seen some people say it works, but so far none of them have had Korean models.
Anyone?
Thanks for the help!

I know I saw someone with the F460 and root I just need to find the post. It does exist unless I'm crazy. I will post an update once I get mine Tuesday or Wednesday. In willing to try every root I can just to see what works.
Do we have the TOT and DLL for the F460 yet just in case? I want to make sure I don't brick my phone again and if I do I can restore it. If there isn't a TOT or DLL how can I export it from a phone for the forum? I'll gladly post everything for people because I want to help out where I can.
Stump will too new easy and fast root:

I can confirm that stump root does in fact work, however, you need to use the brute force method.

I see no reason why it won't. Stumproot works and so does IORoot.

I have the F460S, but I am assuming that it would be the same for the K. I believe that each time it uses the brute force it notifies the devs so they can add support for that device so you wont need to use brute force in the future.

I took the v10i OTA while rooted, but as I stated in another post I don't know why it worked without issues. The worse you can do is try, and if something goes wrong reflash it (my F460 is currently bricked I'm flashing the tot and dll right now but its not being cooperative) Anyway I think v10j is coming out soon I've seen it floating around lgbbs.

Not sure if it does but I used stumproot while on 10G. Does not work on latest firmware so you're gonna have to backup stuff and reflash to stock 10G.

I think you meant

and to answer your question, you cannot with that firmware. The best you can do now is the following.
1. Block the updates and hang in there.
2. Use the Hardware root method.
3. Get a series 3 version from bestbuy and root a new one and sell yours on ebay. thus causing you a slight loss.

geez i was just using that method. and couldnt download towelroot. guess it doesnt matter. im on 51.10.1 or whatever
what should i do
Let me start by saying I APOLOGIZE, As I know this may not be the right section but I've asked there as well and couldn't find help. I feel as though I've exhausted all my resources and still can't get my Gpad to root. I've tried the one click method, kingroot, towelroot, various ADB scripts. You name it I tried them all out there. Is there anyone out there that knows how I can get this device rooted? For the past 3 weeks alone my mission had been to simply very this tablet rooted.
Sorry but I think we are lost no Root for this tablet with lollipop 5.0.2 and the bad part no exist a KDZ or TOT to back to stock.
Damn that's what I was fearing. I may just have to return it as, being NON ROOTED is not an option for me. I'll probably get a Nexus.

Even tried that one with no luck. Tried 4 times.
I've tried literally every type of root method that I could find including Stump, King, Towel, Kingo, "new LG root method", PurpleDrake, and several others. No luck whatsoever.

Not saying that I don't believe you, but would you mind posting screenshots? I'm terribly curious.
And if you are cool with it, I'd like to work with you to get a dump of the 5.0.2 ROM. Maybe we can package it in to a zip for others.
Thanks!

Excellent. Thank you!
This tablet came to me as 5.0.2 and I rooted it with LG One Click Root. Then while trying to fully enable tethering and half drunk I partially-bricked it (it would boot to a black screen and after a moment start adbd) so I flashed the 4.4.2 test-keys image and successfully rooted again with One Click Root (obviously). The trick is to change the COM port of the download mode driver from COM21 to COM17, as One Click Root expects the device to use COM17. Before starting, boot into download mode with the button combo (powered off, hold volume up while plugging in USB cord) and use Device Manager to change the port of the "LGE Mobile USB Serial Port" to COM17. It may take a few moments for the tablet to show up in Device Manager. Reboot the tablet. Now One Click Root will run through smoothly in one shot.

It's a good cell phone but loose a lot of potential with all this "system-garbageware".

Did you try KingRoot? (Not kingO) It worked fine with mine K420N.
Yes. Didn't get even close, even with OEM unlocked mode in dev settings.
ive used kingroot to root mines which it did but the thing is after installing L speed and Root booster i ended up with a Boot verifcation fail, i don't know exactly whether or not the problem was caused by Kingroot or by the other two apps

I just got my new K10 and iRoot did not work, so I tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/debloater-remove-carrier-bloat-t2998294 and it can at least disable the applications, so root is not so badly needed.
I have the T-Mobile 428 version, I have tried KingRoot, KingoRoot, iRoot, StumpRoot, LG One Click Root and Framaroot on this phone and nothing. I also tried a root method from a dev in XDA, just can't remember the name. It would be nice to have root on this device.

You got it wrong bro most of LG devices specially those running on Android M doesn't support "one click root". Lg K10 can be root by using adb, twrp, and super su package. Using commands in cmd will play a major role.
Follow this thread and look for its 1st page.

Yes knowing how to do it manually is the best way typically I've tried a few all in ones and some reason usually have issues also some make it too easy to mess it up if I don't know what you are doing and hey inpatient

Don't rely on the "AIO" Toolkits or the "One Click Root" Toolkits. I do appreciate the developers' effort they put in these toolkits to make people's life easier however many times they are outdated and don't work as they should and are just causing headache. Use Fastboot and ADB and nothing can go wrong! If something does, well... There are so many extremely nice people here who are willing to help you out, answer your questions and bring your phone back to life! Khm... @Badger50 just to mention one! Khm...
True, with oneclick root you must still have an unlocked bootloader otherwise i won't work.
