I have htc desire 820 dual sim
Some issues with it
I have a wifi connection at home
Its connects bt only whatsapp and Viber runs
All apps of Google like playstore google+ or even Facebook are showing me a message connection timeout..
Whereas over the same wifi Xperia Z is running very well evry app runs in it..
Bt when I switch my htc desire 820 to my friends wifi connection it amazingly doing well and all apps like playstore runs
Plzzzzz help mee ??

Try checking DNS settings in your router DHCP.
If some app are running and others are not then its DNS problem most probable. Try updating DNS settings in your router to goole's i.e. 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. You can also update the same in your Device also.

I have HTC desire 820G . my wifi is disabled .i couldn't switch on the wifi and hot spot.

Hi have just bought an htc one x today and when i have switch on the phone to do the setting, everything went smooth till connecting to wifi. The phone can find my wifi but when i click connect it says connecting and just disconnect although wifi is on and signal is excellent. I have tested my htc desire and it's working fine. I can use the phone as i cannot synchronize with google so that i can get my contacts. Any help will be highly appreciated.

restart the phone and try again
After trying variuos ROMs (2 variants of Sense ROMs and this CM11 one) I am still unable to avoid a serious and quite known problem: when connected to Wifi my battery drains fast. After installing BBS I noticed that the phone doesn't go into deep sleep. Something is keeping it awake. The strange thing about this issue is that just a few of the HOX's seem to be affected. I'm curious what do you guys think about it and maybe you have some advices? I really love my HOX, but this is shortening my battery life too much. I'd rather try everything before selling the device. Thank you in advance.
I attached a BBS log. With current settings (location reporting and stuff) if I disable Wifi everything is ok.

P.S. Also tried relocking, reflashing firmware, unlocking then flashing custom ROM but still no luck...

Hi, I had this problem too in history with all my phones. Problem was not on phone, but in WiFi router's settings. Do you have problem only on certail WiFi network or on all WiFi networks? Do you have this problem too when you are not near WiFi (for example in forest...)?

I'm having this problem with my home & office router. Didn't have the chance to test with other routers. I keep wifi on at all times but once the connection to the wifi network is closed, problem is gone. It must be in the software somewhere because my router is way older than the problem. Maybe with the update to JB HTC broke compat with some routers or their settings? Who knows... My wife has the HTC Desire 500 and she doesn't have this issue.
WiFi connects to my router and stays connected at excellent signal strength without any trouble. Internet connection however, always disappears after a minute or so. Then my Dolphin Browser either keeps loading a website forever or gives me some error like "Webpage not available". Same story with stock or any other browser. I'm not sure since how long I have had this issue. It surely existed already when my phone came back from warranty service (and I had sent it there because of very short range of WiFi commonly known problem which they fixed by giving the phone new hardware). I think that upgrade to Android 4.2.2 might have caused my problem, but it was such a long time ago that I don't remember now (I don't use/need WiFi that much, mobile data internet is enough for me).
What I've tried so far:
-rebooting phone and router obviously
-factory formatting the phone
-WiFi analyzer app
-changing all the network parameters and re-setting it up
-WPS connecting
-playing with all the WiFi settings on my phone (proxy settings, ip settings, wifi optimization and other)
-finally, today I unlocked bootloader, rooted and installed custom ROM hoping it'd help (but it didn't and now I lost my warranty lol)

Despite of the mobile is connected to WiFi and there is Internet connection

But if I used VPN.. Over WiFi The app will work 100%, and if I'm using 3g
All the apps work 100%

I manged to solve the problem by changing the ip address from Dhcp to static.. But I Wana ask do I have to change the ip for each wifi I'm connecting to.. Thx

probably a DNS issue.
On another forum for lollipop theres a known issue with a major internet provider and their DNS not playing well with the lollipop update. Changing DNS on the phone or in the router has helped people get past this. I first read it on a LG G4 forum. So maybe you are having a similar issue.
i have such weird issues .. am on aex 5.3 last version ..issue is netwrok probleme in some apps every time i want to sign by google account to one football app i get error network occured and am connected to wifi and other apps work normally this probleme happen just when am on wifi also can't sign to viber when am on wifi i dont know how to explain it but wifi seems not work properly with some apps
