Rooting Symphony Xplorer T8 / T8i / T8q tablet and installing CWM - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi, in this thread in going to show / describe / tell how to successfully root a Symphony Xplorer T8 / T8q / T8i tablet, successfully install SuperSU and SU binaries and flash CWM-based Recovery v6 . 0 . 3 . 0 ( This is not a touch version / fully updated version... Please kindly share if you find one ). Please share a touch / updated recovery.img for any of these devices. And also please share a Custom rom for any off these devices too. Rooting and installing CWM will work 100% and are tested on Xplorer T8 / T8i but it is not guaranteed to work on T8q and no USB cable required
P.S. :- Because I have a damaged USB port

3. Rooting the device and installing SuperSU and SU binaries
4. Updating SuperSU and fixing binary problem / glitch
5. Checking root
6. Flashing CWM-based Recovery
7. Backing up everything as a NANdroid backup ( Very important before flashing a rom! )
8. Installing a updated stock / custom rom ( Rom Coming Soon... Working on it:good: ) [ Only the ways to install a rom have been told ]
9. Restoring everything ( system, boot, files, data, cache )back using a NANdroid backup / Getting device back to life from soft brick ( If you did a backup first )
10. Getting Stock Recovery back
11.Unrooting back
1. Things Needed
1. A Symphony Xplorer T8 / T8i / T8q tablet ( doing all this without a device... That's just LOL! :silly: )
2. Framaroot one-click root ( better if the latest )
3. Flashify ( For root users ) [ To flash recovery ]
4. A Root checker app ( you know why )
5. Rom manager ( CWM rom manager ) [ To install roms ]
2. Things before rooting and flashing CWM and installing a rom
Rooting is never 100% safe.... It will void your warranty... I will not be responsible for not kind of loss / damage or bricking device...
Don't know what root is? Google it... Rooting helps you to get root access, you can flash a custom recovery / rom. It helps to tweak your device, make it faster and make battery last longer...
I will not be responsible if you lose your stock recovery... Follow my steps and you'll be safe :good:
Don't know what CWM is / what a recovery is? Google it... Recovery is recovery mode and CWM is ClockWorkMod
I will not be responsible if you can't restore your device after installing a rom follow my steps to keep the device backed up..... Don't know what a NANdroid backup / android rom is? Do the same thing
PLEASE Note :- Only backups created with the same recovery works with that same recovery
3. Rooting the device
Ok... now we are rooting our device and installing SuperSU and Su binaries...
To root your device download Framaroot one click rooter apk
From here :- http://framaroot.net/
Or from here :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/framaroot/root-framaroot-one-click-apk-to-root-t2130276
Note :- FramaRoot can root all devices with MTK chipsets :good:
And now install it... Remember to use the latest version if you want better performance... I used v1 . 6 . 3. And also remember to allow installation from unknown sources on your device...
Now open app... Your antivirus might detect it as a PUP... But I don't think it does any harm :good:..So, allow it...Choose your action what to do after rooting... Select Install SuperSU, tap on any of those names and it's successful a msg will pop-up saying 'SuperSU and SU Binaries has been successfully installed and if not it has failed. Now you have to reboot your device' or something like that...
Now your device is rooted but there's one more problem.. You won't get an updated SuperSU maybe and have problems with binaries... Which I will tell you how to update / fix in the next operation of our's
4. Updating SuperSU and Fixing SU binary glitch
Well... Sometimes Framaroot installs a old version of SuperSU / doesn't install SuperSU and only roots... In order to update / install SuperSU download a apk or install from Google play...
Google Play free version link :- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.supersu&hl=en
Google Play Pro version link :- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.supersu.pro
Free version apk :- https://bitbucket.org/androidbucket...eu.chainfire.supersu-2.45-245-Android-2.1.apk
Pro version apk :- download4files.com/download/SuperSU.Pro.v2.45.apk
apks are 2 . 45 version which is latest at the moment...:good:
Now when you try access the app a msg will pop-up saying 'SuperSu binaries need to be updated' or something like that...Choose update but... If you choose normal it might work but doesn't work for everyone... And there's no way you can't use the other one because it's for HTC phones...
So what to do? Want to know what I did to make it work?!
Question :- What did I do in order to update the binaries?
Answer :- Nothing that much... I just cancelled that pop-up ( there's an option ) and then got into SuperSu settings and swiped down to SYSTEM and choosed ' Install SuperSU into / System ' and then rebooted device and then the binaries are updated. :good: Now you have a working root management app ' SuperSU ' :good:
5.,Checking root
So, how to know if your rooted? just download a root checker app from your app store... Now check your root... If you see a SuperSU request and grant then your device is rooted...
But what to do if root checker app doesn't say your rooted... You have to repeat every rooting progress again... ... Otherwise sorry you can't root your device :crying:
6. Flashing CWM-based Recovery
So, as I told you before please give me an updated CWM recovery.img / touch CWM recovery... This version is v6 . 0 . 3 . 0 and normal power, home, volume button version / normal version...
Now flashing CWM Recovery... Download the Flashify app on your device and install it...
Google Play link :- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nightshadelabs.anotherbrowser&hl=en
In order for Full / Premium you have to do a in app purchase otherwise you can flash only 3 times in a day...
Or get the full version apk from here :- http://fs1.d-h.st/download/00158/9gPF/Flashify_FULL_for_root_users_v1.8.4.rar
Free version apk :- www.apk20.com/apk/246691/start
Now download this Recovery.img ... This is the CWM-based Recovery 6 . 0 . 3 . 0...
forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2915956&d=1409254120
But one thing the recovery has been tested and working 100% on T8 and T8i but not tested but guaranteed to work on T8i and one more thing... The recovery was developed for T8i and also working on T8... SO WHY NOT T8q?!
Place the recovery.img in SD card ( no folder ) .... Get in Flashify app and grant root access... In order to backup your stock rom go to Backup / Restore ( in app ) and choose backup current recovery... You will have it backed up and now go to Flash... Tap on flash recovery and tap on choose file... Find the file and select it... A msg will pop-up and you should choose 'Yup'. Wait for it to finish flashing... now reboot and if you go to Recovery mode you'll see CWM-based Recovery v6 . 0 . 3 . 0
So, now how to go to Recovery mode? Power off your phone ( completely ) and then press and hold the volume down button and power button until it boots into recovery mode... for some it's power + volume up / power + home + volume up / power + home + volume down... If you see Android System Recovery (3e) you've failed and if you see CWM-based Recovery you've won ... If you fail try everything again ( only flashing Recovery ) and otherwise you've lost :crying:
7. Backup everything / NANdroid backup
Before installing a rom... First make a NANdroid backup of your device...THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT!... To do this go to recovery mode go to backup and restore and then choose backup ( this might take some time )...
8. Installing a rom
Well I don't have a rom for you all at the moment... Please give me a rom for T8 / T8i / T8q...
To install a rom download Rom manager...
Free version here :- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager&hl=en
Premium version here :- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager.license&hl=en
Free version apk here :- aff.apk4fun.com/d.php?p=2119&i=com.koushikdutta.rommanager&v=5.5.3.7
Premium version apk from here :- https://s13.solidfilesusercontent.c...3/381eea5ed0/ROM_Manager_Premium_v5.5.3.7.apk
Now open app and tap on Recovery setup in RECOVERY and then tap on INSTALL OR UPDATE RECOVERY... I says an UNSUPPORTED DEVICE... Tap on device not listed then yes and ClockworkMod 3.x+ and ok...
Now tap on install rom from sd card ( zip format needed ) and select your rom and it will install the rom and might request to wipe / do a factory reset ( PLEASE NOTE :- A FACTORY RESET FROM THE SETTINGS APP WILL DELETE YOUR NANDROID BACKUP )... it is neccesary... now your rom has been installed or maybe it can't... but no problem... you have to do it manually maybe...
Go to recovery mode...first choose wipe data / factory reset then go to install zip from sdcard and go to choose zip from sdcard and select zip and it will install it but if your rom is invald installation is aborted... You've lost all your files, cache, boot, system and data ( Except the NANDROID BACKUP! ). I'll tell you to restore everything in the next operation of our's ... If you made a nandroid backup first :crying:
9. Restoring using NANdroid backup
If you first made a NANdroid backup you can restore your device's system, data, cache, boot, files etc. from a soft brick or a full wipe data.
First go to recovery mode and do a wipe data / factory reset again... then go to backup / restore and go to restore... Now select the backup to restore ( it will take some time )... And you have everything restored properly again...
NOTE :- Only NANdroid backups using the same recovery works with that recovery... So beware
10. Getting back Stock recovery
To get back Stock recovery you need a backup of your stock recovery which you made if you followed my steps... Go to Flashify app again and then go to backup / restore and then restore your Stock Recovery back
11. Unrooting back
First go back to SuperSU and go to SuperSU settings and tap on Full Unroot and then reboot...and them again just go back to Framaroot one click rooter and then choose Unroot an exploit to execute after root and reboot then... Your done...
Ok... I hope everything worked for you!... And remember to share... Sharing is caring... And also git the thanks button please :good::fingers-crossed::victory:

Need recovery
I need a Twrp for my T8i tablet. Is it possible to install a Twrp in T8I?
If possible please share the recovery with me.

What do you mean by permanent ?
In case you will find a another recovery which is compatible with your device, you can change if you want.
I don't understand this question ?
Normally we says that for the root! not for a recovery.
If it's for the root, yes, it's a perm root
Bro m saying that , is this cwm installs internally to system ???
as in mmx devices the cwm installs permanent to system and we dont have load it every time we wanna use this, i mean we dnt have update.zip file everytime..

Not really.
I tried with other source after resetting the fone to its defaults and everything went fine. Just waiting for a serious custom ROM meanwhile.
Thanks for your answer.
After installing CWM, stock recovery sends you to CWM, so I decided to do a backup, then rebooted, but I couldn't get back to CWM again. Is there a different button combination to get to CWM? Or is it there was any problem at installing CWM with the boot stuff in the stock boot.img?

I am sure this means stock recovery rewrites recovery everytime I reboot to recovery. CWM installs, but it seems the phone overwrites stock.
It's the only explanation.
have the same problem, can't do anything.
it seems like there's no way to have a definete version of CWR on s6802....
CWM recovery is not there after reboot.
While installation, CWM is getting installed and open successfully. But after a reboot again switches to default recovery.
do these processes deal with unlocking bootloader?
I m a newbie here, sorry if this is a silly question.
Works amazing, thanks a lot for this guide, mate!
I've rooted and installed CWM today on my friend's S6802 with XXMC1 baseband ver. upon this guide. All went perfectly well.
Even after installing CWM, reboot to recovery mode brought me into stock recovery, but no problem about that- I've choosen again "update zip" function to reinstall CWM and it goes perfectly well.

[Q] ( SOLVED) Please help. Can not flash Superu

Hi everybody,
I'm a newbie.
I tried to root my phone but just can not flash superu.
I flash TWRP ( 2.5.0.0) via ODIN sucessfully with a green Pass . Reboot phone to recovery and Hit System and TWRP asked me to swipe if i want to root my phone. I did and my phone reboot after some action performed by TWRP.
I checked with root check basic and it said Root access is not properly installed on this device. I tried to run TWRP manager apk. It said to run the apk phone need rooted. So I know the phone has not been rooted.
I did the following to see if I can correct the problem.
1)Reboot to TWRP recovery and flash CWM_Root_Superuser_3.1.3_Busybox zip file. No success.
2) flash another zip: su-3.0.5-efgh-signed. No sucess.
3) flash another zip: Update superU-1.51 : No success.
4) Flash ClockworkMod Touch Recovery 6.0.2.8 then try to run Install zip on SD card but CWTR return with an error "can not mount sd card "
Please help so I can root my phone. Thanks.

Solution:
I found a SU file that work at this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ginner-trying-to-root-flash-rom-t989-t2832408

Installing blisspop

Is there a step by step procedure for installing twrp and blisspop on my e980? presently running the 20i firmware. Tried Flashify but it fails to install twrp. This phone has root but is carrier unlocked but has never been flashed so I am stumped. Any help appreciated
I had this same issue but with installing a recovery in the first place due to the locked bootloader and I couldn't find fixes.
But some info would be useful
1. What firmware are you on ex : Kitkat 4.4.2 etc - this can be checked in about phone option.
I used GPro recovery then flashed twrp via that using the unofficial cwm it installed file for the recovery at the bottom of this thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-pro/general/root-bootloader-unlock-t3203573
Steps that may work
1. Enabled unknown sources in security
2. Installed the GPro apk file
3. Hit flash kitkat recovery for g pro
4. Moved the recovery.IMG file for twrp to /sdcard
5. Booted into recovery using the app
6. Flash the recovery.IMG file
What might work (worked for me)
1. Installed cwm using the above method steps 1-3
2. Get latest twrp.IMG (recovery.IMG)
3. Go into flashify
4. Hit flash recovery image
5. Hit choose a file and use your preferred file browser to navigate to your file
6. Hit flash now.
7. Reboot to recovery or normal reboot.
You can mix these two methods and try them differently as for blisspop
1.Get the .zip file
2.Boot into your recovery
3. Wipe System, cache, dalvik cache, and data.
4. Flash the .zip file.
5. Hit reboot to system
WARNING make a backup and check if the .zip is corrupted before booting into recovery
You can also Google methods for installing ROMs.
Hope I helped.
