look there and please next time use the search button of this forum.
you need root to install CM9.
Thanks for the quick response, I did look at that thread however I am hesitant to do the unbrick method. Is there any manual method/other way I can do it?

nope. You have to flash a new KDZ file alltogether because the Telus one is unrootable.
Once you get your head around the 'unbricking method', there is really nothing to it.
or you can wait till Telus releases the next update, and hope that it is rootable.
Sorry to be a hassle but could you give me a noob type rundown on how to do this

Okay, if you have the knowledge to know which rom you want on your phone, you should know how to use the search button my friend. I don't want to sound mean, but I'm very tired of babysitting people when this topic is all over the forums and can easily be found within 30 seconds of doing a Google search. You need to learn that the community loves to help people, but only if they can help themselves. And you should read the forum rules and never post anything in the Orginal Android Development sub-thread of the G3 forum because that is for actual development only, not questions, and not to be harsh, but you wont ever have anything to add to that. Also, since you apparently can't even do a simple search, I'll go ahead and warn you to be careful about what roms you flash and only flash ones specifically for the D855. I also ask that you read EVERYTHING on the OP's page before even downloading the rom. That being said, to start getting your phone ready to flash, you need to first root your phone with StumpRoot:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/root-stump-root-lg-g3-sprint-verizon-t2850906
After you have carefully following all of these instructions and you have properly working superuser access with SuperSU installed on your device, then you can proceed to installing a Bump'd version of TWRP for your phone. Once again, make sure you download the correct file for you variant and follow this guide verbatim:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-...mp-unlock-lg-g3-twrp-d852-d852g-f400-t2900614
Once that is done, you should download whatever rom it is you want to flash, IF AND ONLY IF IT IS FOR THE D855. I cannot stress enough how important it is that you don't flash a rom for a different variant. Follow all directions on the OP's page and you should be good to go.
Good luck on all this but next time, please learn to search before you start a new thread. This topic is literally all over the forums and is so easy to Google and find out for yourself in no time. If people would just read they could figure out a lot more without having to let others do the thinking for them.
Boy im glad i got rid of this phone. Best sell it and buy something easier to root with more custom roms.

If rooting this phone is hard for you I really pitty your intelligence.
Lol. I said easier to root not "hard"!!!
Even if you do root not many custom roms which is big no no for many. Then the lag and cartoonist ui boy it's a toss up between touchwiz and LG ui which is the worst.
Won't be buying LG nor Samsung anytime soon.
Thanks acparker18 for reply .
If I do this ways I do not brick my phone ?

Rooting is seriously either one button after installing an APK or connecting your phone to your computer and pressing ENTER 3 times.

seriously I though Sam fans were insecure but lgs are just as bad.
:silly:
Thank for reply and advise.
BTW.
I have a questions about roms. Which rom for LG G3 (D855) is the best ?
I read a lot of good opinion about SphinX G3 V2.0, because V3.0 is not for D855.
EDIT:
I have a problem with Stump Root, because I see a error: "device is patched, sorry". What do I am?

I have a software from PLUS operator (Poland). I afraid to brick my phone, because It costs around 1700 PLN.
Stump ROOT do not run, because device is patched.
Purple Drake do not run, but I install all drivers and I go step by step guide.
Version of software: V10I-260-01.
What does it mean, the device is patched ?

Purpledrake should work on 10l, many people have said that it does. Strange. The device is patched means LG has blocked stump root from working.

Yup, its answered close to million times
You need to downgrade to KitKat, root it and after that you can choose some prerooted version of lollipop.
Use LG Flash Tool to flash KK and after that you can root it, i used PurpleDrake
Don't root it

You should root if it has a specific purpouse or lets you do stuff you can`t do now AND you know what you`re doing, just my 2 cents
Btw you can restore to stock easily if needed, LG doen`t have a root flag like Samsung.

Dude please, there are tons of root threads on XDA. Stock Lollipop cannot be rooted atm, you`ll have to flash a custom Lollipop rom with a custom recovery for that. Just look in the General thread for rooting methods.
