[Q] Losing root with AOSP roms - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi! I just went from a Nexus 5 to a G3 (855K - Telstra Australia version)
Setting the phone up for daily use. I rooted it with purpledrake, installed TWRP and I have no issues with LG roms. But every time I install an AOSP rom (I've tried resurrection and CM12) I do not have root privileges. In my previous experience with every AOSP rom I've ever tried they've come with Busybox and Superuser preinstalled. This isn't the case now.
Am I missing a step somewhere? Can anyone give me an easy answer? Thanks in advanced

you can enable root in developer settings, or you can find the latest SuperSU zip & flash that for better root compatibility.

[Q] How can I install themes?

Hi all - first and foremost sorry if this is the wrong section.
I've been looking at all these crazy themes and was wondering how I could exactly go about installing them. There are instructions everywhere of different methods and none of them seem to work for me because most of the instructions are incomplete. Can someone PLEASE point me to a up-to-date guide on how I can install these mods? If there isn't, is there anyone that's kind enough to post a guide in this thread? Thanks!
Here's my build information:

-Gee.
There's you problem....you need a custom rom ...wont work on stock roms
No way anyone will post a guide...everything is on the forums

You need to flash a custom kernel, which supports clockworkmod. Than you can flash a team via recovery. The easiest way is however to just install one of the customroms that have built in themesupport like miui or cm7.

Issue with Root Permissions
I was trying this ROM out last week, and I like it, but I had issues with Root permissions. I couldn't get Titanium Backup to run. Kept getting a message saying unable to get root permission. When I looked through my apps and the settings I noticed I didn't see a Super user app, so I tried installing one but ran into the same issue, Super su couldn't update the binary due to an error trying to get root permission. I used Root Checker and it told me that the phone was not rooted properly, but as soon as I switched back to Bliss Stalk ROM that I was running before all was well. I'm now running AICP and loving it too.
All of these ROMs were developed by the same developer Mr. Almid. Anyone else had this issue with OmniROM??
What changed from the last update?

Few suggestions needed to upgrade my Note 2.

Hi all,
Before I write up, I just wanna say that I am familiar with rooting/unrooting procedure, cwm installation, rom installation etc. I used to own Galazy Nexus and was very comfortable flashing custom stuff on it.
Now that I own a Note 2 (T-mobile), I recently got an update (firmware) from T-Mobile and I am not sure which of the versions I need to install to get it working correctly.
Here are the details

So can anyone guide me which tools and software to use to get it rooted, custom recovery and in turn make way to install a custom rom.
Odin the TWRP, then flash supersu 2.45. I'm not sure about the 4.3 bootloader though. It might trip your Knox.

Updating from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 Q's

I've unlocked my bootloader and verified that it is rooted via Root Checker. That is all I did thus far, before that my note 4 was virgin unmodified in any way. How can I safely upgrade from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1... or should I update to 6.0? I want to install a custom ROM. Also if I wanted to go back to any stock ROM, can I just flash it via odin without any issues now that my phone is set to Developer mode? is there a different version I need to use or can I still use the following thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...mware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t2942937
On a side note, I tried to flash 5.0.1 stock and 5.1.1 stock from the link above... it simply failed when trying to flash it... see pic below
I've been out of the loop for rooting, it's been some years since I've rooted an android device, so any and all relevant advice/info would be appreciated... Thanks in advance...
