I've been having several bugs on my converted M8 Google Play Edition:
When I answer calls I am sometimes not able to hear the other person and this does not go away until I restart the phone.
I also occasionally get a "Camera error: can't connect camera," error and the camera is unusable until I restart the phone.
I am not sure if this coincides with the call issue, but, alarms will sometimes be silent and that also is a problem until the phone is restarted.
Finally, sometimes the YouTube app just crashes on launch, constantly--although I'm not sure if this is a YouTube problem or a GPE problem.
All of these problems seem to be fixed with a restart so I'm thankful that they're not permanent but it still is an annoying pain.
Is anyone else having these types of issues with a GPE M8?
Are you using a custom ROM based on GPe or have you done the conversion using the RUU?

I did the conversion with the RUU back on 4.4.3 or 4.4.2 I believe. I just OTA'd up to 4.4.4 and 5.0.1. These problems started happening after moving up to 5.0.1.

So, I have HTC Desire with rooted MIUI rom for a while.
HTC Desire, GSM, MIUI 2.1.6
It was okay until 5th January. I have about 25 installed apps and anything was fine. Few days ago I noticed strange "Force stop" in apps like Twitter, Foursquare, Internet Browser.
Then the same started to happen with random restarts of the phone. The phone simply started, then restarted and entered into bootscreen loop, so I ejected battery and inserted and so on. Clearing Dalvik Cache doesn't help.
Also when I try to enter Wi-Fi settings it freezes and gives out "Force close application?" That's just ridiculous!
I have lately updated from previous MIUI version 2.1.4 because that problem started there, but with no changes.
Can you please help here?
i have always faced similar issues with MIUI , my phone doesnt like it
so i have simply stopped using it
edit: if you still want to use MIUI id suggest you stick with a stable version for a while rather than weekly updates
Well, it really might be like that. Seems like I fixed those issues by doing a full phone wipe and fresh flash. Which release can you suggest me?
Wich releases did you try before ?

I have MIUI on mine and flash each update. The biggest issue I have is that it tries to update and always fails with an E:\SDCard error in recovery. I just download and then flash the full rom (no wipes) and it works a treat. The one issue I have with 2.16 is that SMS messages disappear below my 'Better Keyboard' where they didn't in the version prior. I've switched to Android keyboard now but have yet to see if the issue persists. That said, it is by far the most stable ROM I've ever used and I'm running 40+ apps on it with zero problems.

As far as it is, it looks fine. No big problems at all. The only issue is that I backed up 5000+ messages back to phone, I like to store them there. Sometimes seems like it is a little hard for android to hold so many sms's.
I have not seen a particular thread with this particular issue:
I am running Lollipop 5.0.1 on a Google Play Edition device (was properly converted to GPE).
Whenever the phone is idle (usually after a night of charging, I am getting the "!" near the Wi-Fi, meaning that the Wi-Fi connection is problematic. This is not true, and it fixes itself by toggling Wi-Fi Off/On. It is annoying since no notifications are coming through. In this particular screenshot, even the data has the "!". See the attachment for more details.
This happens often, but not in a way I can reproduce everytime. I've tried flashing the official GPE and the SkyDragon custom ROM, cleanly flashing them each time. It suggests that the problem lies in Lollipop itself, and not in something I did wrong. I've also tried reflashing the GPE radio.
Anyone having this problem and any idea of a fix?
Thanks.
1 for not having the issue anyways.

I am currently running the 1.14.21331931.LA02_2G GPE radio.
I followed this thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708589
Used Method 2 to flash:
RUU-HTC_One_M8_GPE_5.1-4.04.1700.4.zip
I also flashed the stock recovery graffixnyc's website.
Everything seems to be working fine except when I install a new app that has widgets or install a widget, the list of Widgets (which pops up when you long press blank home screen) does not update right away, I have to reboot my phone and then it updates. I have tried searching but cannot find a definite answer.
Seems to be an issue with Lollipop, happens with me on Sense and GPe now and again...was never an issue on my Nexus 5, though
Hm, I see. This did not happen when I had 5.0.1. Maybe something in 5.1?

i can confirm it's a lollipop issue one the m8. it started happening to me once i updated from 4.4.4 to 5.0.1 and now 5.1 still happens from time to time simple reboot makes it show up.
I've just rooted and installed Viper ROM on my ATT HTC m9 and everything works great except I can't receive phone calls. The phone never even rings. I've also flashed ICE and ARHD with no success receiving phone calls. If I restore to a TWRP backup of stock the phone works perfectly so it's obviously something to do with the ROM.
I've checked the other posts on here and none of the fixes have worked, yet. I wanted to try to RUU but whenever I run the RUU application (windows 8.1) the progress bar to initialize the setup completes and the program closes. It never does a flash. I've tried running as admin, disabling services, and running in Win7 compatibility mode to no success.
Do any of you have any ideas on either of these?

I had this happen too and it's still kind of a mystery as to what causes it. Did you see this thread? My posts in there are everything I did to fix this, but I can't say exactly what step fixed it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/help/unable-to-receive-phone-calls-t3137209
I haven't had the issue in about three weeks now, so whatever it was is apparently fixed. I'm on ICE 3.0.1 with no issue. A definite short-term fix is to do steps 2 or 3 of post #3 in the above link. I suspect it has something to do with either the radio not reading the default.xml file properly or the default.xml file not containing the correct voLte settings.

Thanks! I followed your steps and got it working. It seems from what you and Venom support said that the problem is with going directly from the ATT RUU (5.0.2) to a custom 5.1 ROM. Once I flashed the developer edition RUU and edited the default.xml I was able to flash ViperROM and have calls working without any further tinkering.
Thanks a ton!

Thanks for the feedback. That's weird though because I couldn't even receive calls on the developer edition.
I couldn't make calls until editing the default.XML in developer edition. I'm still not sure how it works but I'm happy either way!

Hi,
I have a problem with my M8 since I installed GPE (at first lollipop, then I've made a clean install of Marshmallow, my M8 is S-OFF and it has the Google CID). Everytime when I turn on network (no matter if it is Wi-FI network or data - LTE or 3G) everything starts to lag. All upcoming notifications from different apps. How can I fix it? Like I said before, wipe won't help me cause Marshmallow was installed by clean install (I was experiencing the same lag issue on GPE lollipop too).
What can I do?
Thank you for your help
Hey, I know it's been a while, but have you ever found a solution?
