i have done some research into cracking mifare cards, and i am new to this.
i use ubuntu 14.04lts
i have purchased an acr-122u reader.
i would like to use it to try to crack a mifare classic card however information on this is either in another language or non-existent. i have archlinux on a disk if necessary, however would someone be able to explain how to run mfcuk on ubuntu 14.04lts? also does anyone know if their is a gui frontend in development for mfcuk? i believe i will need to run a dark side attack to obtain one of the keys, then use that key and a mfoc attack to find the rest of the keys. how would i install mfcuk and the necessary libnfc libraries and so forth and how would i run them? i apologize if their is already a thread for something similar to this, how ever i would like to be specific. i greatly appreciate any help that could be provided. (including links to web pages / threads related to this) thank you very much.

anyone
anyone? anyone have anything? something to work with? ive been searching forever, only to find no information. i found a DEB of rfid-tools and nfclib and the driver to my acr122u, just cant figure out how to use it. it hangs after i put in mfcuk -C -R 0 which i believe i am supposed to do. not really sure. i just saw a forum where someone else put that command in. i tried it with a blank card and it said "recover keys 0" or something then did nothing. i hit enter and nothing happened. but i couldnt execute commands so i think, terminal thought it was doing something, especially since when i tried to x it out it said a process was running, and when i took the card off the nfc reader it gave me some codes then stopped. i tried it with a card that has keys however and it gave me some kinda error. anyone? anyone at all?

Okay, so recently I got a wild hair to try compiling CM on my MBP, and proceeded to pull and install all of the various items described by the CM wiki here:
http://wiki.cyanogen...dible_(Mac)
I realize that it says the wiki hasn't been tested, and that it's for CM6 and OSX 10.6.5, but I figured / hoped that not too much had changed... which is apparently wrong. So here's what happens: I've got everything installed correctly as far as I can tell- Java for Mac update 4 (most current), the most current MacPorts (1.9.2), I've built a little disc image workspace (15gb, as suggested by the wiki). I've pulled down the repo, ADB'd the proprietary files from the Inc, etc. etc., all with success (i.e. no error messages and it looks clean).
Everything LOOKS okay, right? I should be able to just build this puppy and keep it movin', right? Wrong.
I follow all of the wiki instructions *exactly*, the build runs for about 20+ minutes, gives me an assertion error, and then returns me to command line (no .zip file created). No other errors anywhere that I can see- lots and lots of warnings (is that normal?) but no ERRORs. So, I figure maybe I'll try these boards and see if someone with more experience in this area has any suggestions. I briefly consulted Slayher about it and he was saying that he remembers something about Macs and "elf.h" not playing nice with Linux kernels... but things I've found by Googling say that those issues SHOULD be corrected by the most recent MacPorts.
So, again, I've followed the wiki instructions to a "T"... Twice, if you can believe that- I thought maybe I'd done something wrong the first time so I trashed my workspace and started over from scratch. Same result, the compile runs, looks the same, and then there's no "finishing message" or .zip in the /inc folder. Anyway, here is a link to the pastebin of the compile, if anyone wanted to take a look. Directly after the last line that is posted to this pastebin, it returned me to command line- I just didn't post my command line for privacy's sake. If you look at this link, line 2496 (and those above and below it) look to be of particular interest, but what do I know...

Anyone have any thoughts on compiling CM7 with a Mac running 10.6.6/7? Any help would be much appreciated. I'm working on getting access to an Ubuntu laptop, but again I'd really like to be able to do this on my MBP if I can.
Thanks for reading.

**EDIT: I've tried looking for help on this, including (as I mentioned) some pretty learned people (Slayher, CUViper, etc.) but I don't want to continually bug them... and my google / XDA searches haven't come up with anything so far. Again, any help would be appreciated... there's gotta be someone out there compiling CM7 on a Mac, right? Maybe?
Hi Everyone!
I have been given a Defy MB525 with Froyo installed
Apparently O2 and Motoblur don't like each other 'cos I can't locate the phone or do anything else using "My Motoblur" as Motoblur wants Microsoft Explorer and I have Linux on my computer.
I want to manipulate files and basically get full access to my phone using a nice friendly Linux GUI, but apparently I need to root the bloody thing.
I know this question has been asked before. The thread below is an example.
http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9456771
The thread mentions Z4root as an answer.. It doesn't exist anymore.
It then talks about adb and pushing files into the phone.
In the most part this worked
The bit that didn't was "adb push exploit.bin /data/local/tmp/exploit.bin"
It doesn't exist on the zip file attached..
It did however have "rageagainsthecage-arm5.bin" instead
I changed the name to exploit bin in the vain hope that it might be the one and continued the instructions.
It obviously wasn't the one as :
a) it wouldn't come out of the program and
b) I got the $ sign instead of the # sign, which meant I was not root.
This was confirmed when I did the next step in the instructions and got permission denied.
After a switch off and on again (the phone) I cannot even get get back into the phone using adb. It just comes up "error: device not found" even though Linux is showing it as a directory.
So! What next?
Yours in anticipation
Fitchie
I use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044765 and work very fine with froyo
You can look at the stickies at the top of the forum before posting, see "Defy all-in-one beginner's guide", understand that it probably refers to you and most likely contains the answers to any beginner questions you'd want to ask, open it, read it in case you're serious or just look for "rooting" word if you're not.
Well, you already missed the first part and posted the thread, but you could still do the rest.
Given that you're running Linux on your PC, I'm a bit puzzled - I'd think that the described above is expected from someone with unorthodox OS that is likely used to searching for various guides.
Using "SuperOneClick" is the best way to do Root on your Defy MB525.
I've done this. .. hope it'll help

SO i posted this in another thread, thought I'd start one here.
Im sure a lot of people are facing the same issue as I am. So any assistance would not only help me, but plenty of others as well. Here it goes:
I just joined XDA...if there ever existed a supernoob when it comes to phones, then thats me...i have almost absolutely no idea about flashing, roms and whatnot...i just know they exist
My problem is that I have a galaxy nexus, yakjuux, here in Canada, and as everyone else, thinking of flashing to yakju for the updates.
I have a black macbook, and I was reading on how to flash...and i just couldnt piece together all of the information thats available.
Anyone here generous enough to help me flash to yakju to get the updates?
walk me step by step as to how to flash...like literally step by step, with every bit of detail.
Im not completely dumb with technology, but its just with phones that I fail.
Thanks!!
time for some tough love... You need to start reading and figure it out. These exact threads, nearly word-for-word, have been posted for the last 3 months straight, and have been answered the exact same for 3 months straight. There are guides, stickies, posts, videos, etc. all sitting in these forums. You are seriously going to get yourself into some nasty **** if you just let someone tell you what to do and you have absolutely no idea what's going on while you're doing it. Search. Please.
Good luck.
Thanks martonikaj,
I understand the multitude of information available out there, but there is nothing for mac in terms of videos that helps flash from yakjuux to yakju.
If i missed something, would you be able to post it? I would be grateful.
Its just a matter of getting a guide that's concise and concrete.

There is nothing different about a Mac guide. In many ways its simpler. The only difference is that you need the Mac version of ADB and Fastboot files instead of Windows ones, and you need a "./" in front of the commands in Terminal (instead of Command Prompt). There are no "1 click" (toolkit) methods for OSX. Do it manually you'll be better for it anyway.
I've attached ADB and Fastboot files.
Got past that, serial number is not showing up though...aghh
is there no video to show how its done?

so you've downloaded and unzipped ADB and pointed Terminal to that folder, connected your phone and enabled USB debugging, and type "./adb devices" and nothing shows up?
umm yeah I did all of that...
i sent you a message!
Sorry for the stress haha, tough love indeed it is...but this is driving me crazy...

On computer:
1) unzip Mac_ADB_Fastboot.zip
2) Move files somewhere, like your <user name> folder
3) Open Terminal
4) type "cd " and drag the unzipped Mac_ADB_Fastboot file into the Terminal window (or manually navigate if you know how to do that) and hit enter
On phone:
1) turn on USB debugging in developer options
2) connect phone via USB
There is literally nothing else to do to get the computer to recognize the device.
So, after 2,5 years of great joy of using my HOX, last weekend it fell down, and the screen broke.
I asked about the replacement, but it seems a bit costly (compared to the phone value), so I might as well forget about it.
I am already looking for a replacement.
The problem I have is that inside my HOX i have many very important as well as sensitive information. As the thread title say - could anyone help me with rescuing them?
The phone was running SlimKat 9, so maybe @teemo could have an idea
I remember @geko95gek, and @Goku80 used to deal very well with HOX.
Although I have some experience in flashing, this looks quite difficult, because ADB doesn't rcognize my phone in ON state. Fastboot commands work just fine in bootloader mode, but ADB refuses to cooperate.
What do I need:
- access to sdcard to take out some data.
- SMSes
Any help/advice/assistance is more than welcome.
Update - I managed to access sdcard through adb, so at least this part is put to sleep.
Still, ab is giving me "access denied" or something like that when I try to access data partition to extract mmssms.db and another file from an app that created it (AK Notepad notes which are of extreme importance to me).
I found some instructions that I should provide adb with root access, but I cannot as I can't recognize anything on my screen even though the touch is working.
Also, as I remember Slim KAT 9 has y default root access to adb and usb (@teemo could you confirm this, please?).
Any advices?
After TWRP and MAGISK is installed on my phone and achieving root, does anyone know of any guides or lists of apps that are safe to delete from my Moto G Fast? I found a list online with the commands to delete them, but it seems there would be so much more that can be removed. I ran the pm list packages command in shell, and the size of the list was incredible. After installing an SD card and moving pictures, etc. and doing a google search for deleting apps I found were safe to delete, I've regained significant amount of internal storage space. But of course I'd like to do more. Thank you to all.
Well, it's been interesting. After learning about the debloater, I've been trying to get my Moto G Fast to be recognized in MINT, LMDE 5. I've read probably a hundred posts from people having the same problem, but no one seems to have the solution. I am trying to connect via USB, but no luck. It is so easy in Windows to get your phone to appear as a device, but no matter what I tried, nothing works. Someone out there has to have the "solution" to this problem. Please help
Update: I spent a lot of time trying to figure this out. Countless hours searching for the solution. I tried installing Ubuntu, Lubuntu, and Mint as guest programs with no success. So, finally, I uninstalled the Virtual Box emulator (oracle), and found that version 9 of VMware will work on my old computer running Windows 7 ultimate. SUCCESS. Running Mint through VMware identifies my phone and it shows up in ADB devices, in the VMware program, and in the list after the LSUSB command. Never would have thought that it was the emulator program causing the problem, but it seems that way in my case.
One other hint, if you decide to use VMware, and you apt-get adb and get it to work, use the snapshot feature. This way the next time you boot it up, the ADB that was installed will still be there. I've found that it doesn't seem to automatically save changes to your guest program, and if you don't take a snapshot of your system, you have to reinstall ADB every time you use it.
