Guys,
I've had this phone for a good bit. Just trying to see what exact combos of ROM/Kernel/apn fix/radios you've flashed to get this ROM working. I've read as many threads as you can throw a stick at, and I've tried a lot of them. Just looking to see what exact combo you are using.
I've tried:
CM11-M10 / stock kernel / apn fix = works great except GPS and known rotation feature
CM11-M10 / KT747 kernel (both version) / apn fix = bootanimation is as far as it gets
The apn fix is because I'm on Boost Mobile. I've got the NF4 radio and know if I bork the thing by using a ND8 radio i can just flash and fix. I always have to go back to stock TW which is so ridiculously slow, even after debloating as much as I can.
MUCH appreciate any responses! If someone is super bored and they have a perfect working mix and wants to share their factory reset nandroid backup, that would be really slick! (I'd do it for you! hahaha)
Anyway, thanks again and take care everyone!!
You could try a custom TouchWiz ROM. There are a few other kernels for AOSP in Original Development. I've posted the GPS Fix quite a few times, here- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56760440- you have to be on TouchWiz to do it though.

Most of the time whenever I open the camera it either says it cannot connect to it and when it does connect it just freezes and have to hold power button down.
Happens on AOKP and CM10 preview.
bump .
Sounds like your on an older build
Make sure to download the latest and greatest from the op and make sure to not dirty flash, or restore apps.

I think it was an issue on cm10 and when I dirty flashed to AOKP it must've never changed the camera setting and was still on cm10 so did full wipe and flashed aokp and gapps seems to be good so far.
Altought I noticed that gapps crashed any fix?

1) There are dedicated Q&A threads for the custom ROMs and they're the perfect place for questions about them.
2) When using a custom ROM, if you have an issue and you don't see many other people with it in those threads, always full wipe + reflash before posting about it because you are likely the only one having the problem.
3) I have no idea what you're asking about the GApps as your image is broken and GApps work fine on CM10, so you're likely the only one with this problem and there is no "fix". Try reflashing them.
I've been tinkering around making my own roms for awhile now. I just stated back because I was bored and felt like doing something. I am not a dev , by any means, so I am not making a public thread because I simply do not know how to implement bug fixes when I need them. With that being said, I've slimmed down the MA6 rom to my liking and would like help on making a few final adjustments. The rom is as follows.
*Stock, deodexed, rooted(SuperSU) MA6
*No touchwiz launcher(Touchwiz parts still very much in there just not the launcher)
*Stock Nexus 4.2 launcher
*Removed alot of stuff I didn't want or need(file still pretty big, hoping you guys can help with that)
*Not many bugs(At least from what I'm seeing)
Problems with rom
*On first boot, messaging app in default launcher points to nowhere(You have to delete shortcut and re-add messaging)
*Launcher seems to redraw(correct term?) sometimes.( Icons big sometimes, sometimes not)
*Other stuff I hadn't tested
I have provided a link to my dropbox if anyone is brave enough to help me test/fix this thing. It will be greatly appreciated.
Also will post two screenshots.
Rom Link is here Light_Jelly_0.9

I would like to thank all of you in advance for your help/time/consideration. :good:
You're off to a good start. Don't worry so much about the bugs yet. We have a great community here at XDA and people will reach out and help. I'd recommend moving this to the development section so it gets the exposure to other developers.
This is how all of us developers get started. Welcome
Thanks for the advice. Will post over there now.
Im running version 4.1.2 with Nova Launcher (TouchWiz) on a Windmobile phone the stock ROM and was wondering if is it possible to mod the toggles so they look something like this:

Or am I stuck with the way it looks now?
Ive tried searching the GN2 forum and didnt have any luck finding anything.
Ive seen the 23 toggle mod but it isnt the same. If I am able to add this feature to the sock ROM my phone will be perfect.
thanks.

I'm working on it for my ROM, but since that guide isn't for TW and or layouts are very different then theirs it's a lot of changes from the guide that are needed and honestly a pain (for me at least). Go ahead and give it a shot you may be able to pull it off

A few weeks back I took my first foray into rooting my phone and quickly went onto flashing my first rom (Cyanogen 10.2 for Virgin Mobile Epic 4g touch.) I created a backup of my original phone OS ( which when reloaded now goes into a boot loop) however the reason I originally left it was so i could get software that would work as slick as possible with the hardware and Cyan 10.2 does that except for the Data which has fallen by the wayside as the Dev gets on with real life.
I then went to flash Cyan 10.1 as i figured it would be a lot more stable and have the kinks Ironed out. Unfortuneatley I cant even get it to install properly as the the android symbol keels over and dies indicating an install issue before the Rom can even be put on the device. So I'm looking to see if anyone has a Rom that works as flawlessly as possible any ideas?
Don't know what your style is, but here are 4 of the best/most updated TouchWiz ROMs out there. You want everything to work, so TouchWiz is the only way to go on this device.

There is no BEST and yet they are all the BEST. Members are expected to research and read through the Development threads. The only thing you will get here is a list of all the ROM's because every member has found what is best for them. You can get the same list by looking at the first few pages in development.

Have a great day!
I was wondering what people are doing with their 5X's. The Nexus devices use to be a safe haven for ROM users, but with stock Android getting so good with monthly updates, and Android Pay not being usable on a custom ROM, custom ROM's have been a lot less appealing to me.
Nonetheless, I believe that this device suffers from MAJOR optimization issues, and the combination of CM13 and ElementalX kernel solves a lot of these issues, yet I feel like I'm missing out without the possibility of using Android Pay.
I have also grown tired of factory resetting my phone after doing it countless times over the last few years, and I'm ready to not have to do that for a long while, and the most obvious option for that is sticking with stock.
So what are you guys doing? Sticking with stock? Or are you using some custom ROM as a daily driver?

Did someone say custom ROM?
Flashing is addicting. Fun too. And there isn't anything wrong that. If you have the time and patience it is an excellent hobby.
Sounds like it's getting old to you. Maybe it's time to take a break. Try stock unrooted (or rooted) for a week or so and see if it works out for you. If not flash away. You won't be out anything.
I'm on day 3 of stock unrooted (for the best buy deal). I'm going to see how long I can stay this way.
