Has anyone else tried XBMC on their shield?

It looks awesome, and works well for me. Since this device hooks up to TVs with HDMI, I figured it would make perfect sense to run this.

I plan to do this in about a month when I move into my new appartement and get me some big-ass LED TV.

Since navi x stopped working now I stopped using xbmc unless someone knows how to get it working.

SO much more on XBMC that does exactly what Navi did. Search! Showbocks android app has also proven reliable.

Uhmm Navi stopped working? That's odd because I watched Days of Future Past on Navi just in the month of July.

It is a emulator frontend.
I followed this steps to make it work:

The configuration is not easy at all, but it is worth.
I did some scripts to make it possible to have ALL roms with name, genre, cover, snap.

Thanks for letting me know that there's an app call XBMC, it's really nice.
Yes, I've tried using it, works great. Now I can transform my Shield into super-awesome-media-device

That is a nice setup, did you need root to do it? I want to avoid rooting my device for now.

Just wanted to update this thread for Shield Android TV users. There is a development build specifically for the Shield console.
I cannot post links due to not having 10 posts yet, so search for "Kodi for Shield Android TV". In the Kodi shield tv wiki there is a link to the dedicated Shield TV kodi

Force android wear Update 1.3

Don't know how to flash ota and want to use Android wear 1.3 and this guide will show you how to force update.
Download app called fake GPS https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lexa.fakegps
Enable developer mode on
Tick on allow mock location
OPEN Fake location and set location to (12.8519685, 74.8503558)
And reboot you android wear and check for update on you moto 360
(If that didnt work try reseting you mlto 360 and follow those steps)
I am on UK and this worked for me . Tried resetting my watch like 20 time didn't work but this work and if this worked for you hit Thanks

Did not worked for me without resetting ...

Finally got it to go for my 360 here in the USA but I did have to do the factor reset, twice. But it is downloading the update now.

Got the update via OTA. Is there a change log for this update?
Looks like tapping the screen does not bring up the Menu screen anymore. Have to swipe right to left to now get to that screen.
Also, Ambient Mode is now truly always on. It dims after several seconds but you can still see the watch face. Before, it would dim and then turn off only to turn on if you move the watch face towards you.

Actually did work. The only issue is to wait for the package to mysteriously download to the watch (a.k.a. hmmm my moto 360 is warmer than usual). Kinda sucks to not have a warning that the package is being downloaded when an update is detected and not when it is ready to install the update.

Anyone knows how to force android wear 1.4?

I've tried the method mentioned in the first post but didn't worked. Waiting for other methods.

Did not work for me (made reset twice) with 12.8519685, 74.8503558 .
Watch shows weather from India, but 'system is up to date'.
Will try to leave these fake GPS coordinates for a few hours.

Google Maps not working!!!

I just bought this watch couple of days ago. Do anyone here have any ideas on why I cant run google maps on my watch and it keeps telling me to update my Android Wear app even my Android Wear is already the latest (from Google Play & APKMirror) ?

Please post your Moto 360 Build Number, Play services version and Android Version. All can be found within the Settings app on your watch.

Looks like Google Play Services is stuck on an old version. It should update on the watch when the Android Wear app on the phone is updated. Try a re-sync of the apps via the Android Wear app (be patient, it takes about 30 mins or so during which time it may disconnect for a while).

I'm having the same problem with my new Moto 360 2nd gen.. I also have an old 1st gen and it has all the apps that I like. However, my new 2nd gen hasn't loaded Google Maps yet. Every time I hit' resync apps' in Wear OS, a few more apps get loaded, but that the ones I want. Is there some way to remove apps that you don't want from your watch to make room for ones you want, like Maps? Thanks, Craig
After 2 days of trial and error I finally got Maps to load on my new watch. I tried a number of suggested solutions that didn't work, but persistence prevailed. I had already wiped it clean twice and re-synced with Wear OS. Then I would restart the watch and keep clicking resync apps under the Advanced Settings tab on my phone's Wear OS app, I notice that most times the phone picked up a couple more apps, but typically not ones I wanted and not Maps. However I kept trying the restart of the watch and the resync apps on the phone in the Wear OS app. It can take 30 minutes to complete each and frequently fails the upload, but finally it loaded Google Maps and now works great.

[APP]Xperia Icon Converter for New Launcher ALPHA VERSION

Hello everyone
Since most of you know, sony released a new launcher with icon support. But sadly, they don't support most of the icon packs. A few created by xda members but it's not a real solution. A while ago, I created a tool for automatically convert those icons with computer help. It's based on java, and it's in VERY VERY early stage of development.
It's not guaranteed that it will work at all, but i tried with my phone xperia z3 compact. And it seems worked all the time.
Known bugs
-App name, app icon is not generating. It's always framed with some sorf of icon.
-It freeze while converting because lack of threads
-Sometimes it can't display all of the installed apps , which is absolutely weird
-Only 1 app can be converted for this time because of package names are same. If you convert apk. Just select none and apply. Then select framed again to "refresh" new icons
For the sake of small tutorial, I used polycon icon pack which can be downloaded from google play
1.Connect your phone with usb debugging activated
2.Press "Connect Phone"
3.App will be listed in combobox (it will show app name in the future ofc, and If possible I will limit those apps to display only icon pack apps)
4.Press convert button. ( It will freeze, I know i didn't implemented threads because i'm lazy guy.)
5.Choose it from icon pack settings
Application will download, convert and install apk to your phone.

Oh bonus, it developed in java. It should be working at mac,linux(replace adb file with linux adb file) ,windows(not yet)
So, there won't be a download for just jar file not yet. I will give you eclipse project, download it. Play with it. I'm open to suggestions. Code fixes etc.
This is first time i ever develop adb app. So I had no idea how to connect device, get stuff etc. I tried my best my it might be stupid solution, please don't hate me.
PS: I'm college student and I have finals. I just put this because i just developed this for 2 hours a week ago and its been there since. I will continue develop when i got time.

Anyone still Moto 360 1st gen? Having issues with Facer and WatchMaker

Hi, is anyone still using the 1st gen Moto 360 today?
I can't seem to get Watchmaker or Facer to work on WearOS. I'm having a hard time finding someone with the same issue, I apologize if this was posted before.
Do I need to find an older version of Watchmaker or older version of Wear OS? If someone can stir me to the right direction, it would be appreciated.

Bought a new one last month. Had to upgrade Android Wear on the watch until it got to 1.4, installed Facer and no problems whatsoever. Using a Huawei Mate 20 to sync apps.

first you need to cumputer and softwares (connectify + VPN ) for share Vpn Wifi (for mobile + watch )
just have sync app and watch faces with Wifi Vpn

Dear friend i have issue on my moto 360 like when i instal the facer or watch maker and want to change the watch face. On facer that is coming installing companian app but nothing happeing on watch. How can i resolve this companian issue can you please tell me the complete procedure ?
