Hello!
This began about a month ago. I was using Lollipop 5.0 and had absolutely no problems with my phone until one day, all of a sudden I wasn't able to connect to my home wifi network. I enter the password and it just says saved, secured. Then I discovered I was unable to connect to any secured wifi network. I tried soft and hard restarting my phone, restarting my router, forgetting my home network and trying to reconnect, I tried clearing my Google services frame work data, and still nothing.
I finally decided to downgrade to Kit Kat and did a factory reset and loaded a stock version; no dice, I still was not able to connect to secured wifi networks. I tried rooting my device and deleting wpa_supplicants.conf, still back to square one.
I find that I am able to connect to unsecured wifi networks.
Im at my wits end, I really do not know what to do. Please help.

Today I updated my ROM from LeeDroid v2.5 to v3.0.8.2. I wiped my phone first. After this I rebooted, then rebooted again into recovery and installed the recommended radio (32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08). Then I restored my apps+dat with Titanium back up and rebooted again.
It soon became apparent that whilst mobile internet was working fine, WIFI wasn't. While my phone will connect to the router it won't connect to the internet. If I enter the local IP of my router I can browse the settings fine. I tried "forgetting" the network and re-entering security code but this still didn't work.
I restored my v2.5 nandroid backup and the internet worked fine, the radio is still 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08.
So I did a fresh install of the v3.0.8.2 ROM and tried connecting to WIFI again and again the same problem.
So my question is, is this an inherent problem with the ROM, and if so why does no one else seem to have this problem, or is it a setting issue?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Also I tried changing the WIFI channel as suggested in another WIFI thread, and this didn't change anything. Except the WIFI channel obviously.
And I tried a static IP address and that didn't work either.

Yes I tried turning my router off for a couple of minutes then switching it back on. Didn't change anything.

Did you sort it?
I think you need to wait before the router give your router assign an ip for your phone, btw, some router donot fit all phone model
Yes thanks I managed to sort it today by following this thread
Apparently the fault is inherent to Android 2.3.3 and seems to present itself mainly with Thompson routers. It was a static IP I needed, I'd not entered the details properly the first time.
Thanks for the replies!

Thats good
Ok so a couple of days ago I installed a 4.0 ready radio on my galaxy s2 and then went on to install Jedi Knight 6 ROM (4.0.4 and radio is UVMC6) and after installation everything was working fine.. I was messing around for a while.. it worked today, I shut my phone off to charge it up real quick, and when I turned it back on my WiFi would not connect. Well not necessarly connect.. it just wont even turn on. When I go into settings and click WiFi, it just sits there saying, Turning WiFi on, and never changes.. I can't seem to imagine what could have happened to it, and I really dont wanna have to reinstall the ROM again because i just spent hours getting this one all set up to my liking...
Anyone got any ideas?
EDIT: BTW, I have tried many things.. Tried airplane mode to disable everything then turn it back on, obviously tried rebooting the phone, i have tried wiping cache in CWM recovery and also tried fix permissions in recovery (another topic said to try those..)
Nothing has worked so far, i'm about to try reflashing my radio, see if that works.. but I really really dont want to have to reflash my whole ROM.. So if anyone has any other ideas please help, i'll edit if the radio works..
EDIT 2: Reflashing the radio did nothing.. it's really wierd, the data, bt, gps.. all of it works fine, it's just the WiFi that's frozen turning on... cant get it to stop turning on and can't get it to actually turn on..
EDIT Final: Ok well, i guess nobody knows what might have been going on.. so I just wound up reflashing my ROM, which obviously fixed it.. i just had to lose all that time spent setting everything up... But oh well.. Kinda sucks nobody even tried to help..

+1 I'm going through the same thing now
I have been having this same issue as well. It started out as stock happening sporadically. One thread suggested rooting and removing my account. Problem still occurring. Tried flashing multiple ROMs and now WiFi hasn't connected at all always stuck at turning on. I have tried clear cache, fix permissions, as well as reinstalling ROM dirty and with factory reset. I'm hoping this isn't hardware failure because I just bought this phone used but it seems to be a reoccurring problem with others as well. Any NEW suggestions not given from quick Google/xda search?

I'd suggest to check your Wireless Access Point (modem or router) wireless settings for security, check and see if it's set to use WPA/WPA2, which is common on some modems/routers, change it to either WPA or WPA2 (preferred) not both, it's a known issue with WiFi networks and having it set to using both, I had the same problem before with my phone connecting to my WiFi.
Also if you use MAC Address Filtering on the modem/router, you should disable/clear that and let phone re-connect before enabling mac filtering again.

The problem I am having is not that it won't connect to a particular network. Wifi will not initialize on the device at all and is stuck in "Turning On..." state. I found more and more posts where people ended up having to send in to Samsung so I spoke with them and even though I purchased the phone used its thankfully still under warranty and they will be replacing it. The did not confirm whether or not it was a true known device issue but were quick to file the exchange for me.
sigh, me too!
Just started having this problem on 4.3.1
great.
In my case, I had to wipe system and data before reinstalling my ROM.
Though the only reason it was happening to me was because Beanstalk 4.4.2 didn't want to get past the splash screen when I tried to install it so I downgraded back to ICS 4.0.4 without wiping. Good luck getting this issue fixed. Also another kernel might fix thingz for you if your current one does not like your device.
I have a similar problem. After a while, WiFi gets disconnected. If I go in settings - wifi, i get the message "unfortunately, settings has stopped" and I can't get WiFi to work again until I reboot the phone. The Wifi works again for a couple of minutes then stops.
I have flashed various different ROM (CM11, PA) but keeps getting the exact same behavior.
I've rebooted in safe mode and I don't get the problem now.
Hello I have searched the forum in hopes of someone having the same problem to no avail. I am on phone no 3 of the Verizon variant of the HTC One. My problem is that on all 3 phones I cannot connect to WiFi at all. It sees the networks it says connecting then stops and tries another 2 times and then says authentication error. I have tried 6 different WiFi networks both secured and unsecured at Starbucks, McDonald's, Burger King, Library etc all with the same result. I want to like the phone very much and for 3 phones in a row to have this issue is a bit much. I am on SW version 1.10.605.10 and not sure if this has to do with it but it says hardware version 0000. I've even contacted HTC and after 30 min on the phone from trying factory reset, booting the phone into safe mode, and everything else no go. On a side note after everything the HTC rep did admit this is a known issue on a "limited" number of devices. Oh and and factory recovery is gone as well we couldnt get it to boot into it, the screen goes black then reboots itself. The phone is on stock 4.2.2 and has never been rooted, thank you in advance

If you can boot into your hboot, you could try to root it and flash a custom ROM to if it fixes it. If not, you could return to stock and send it back...
I had this issue happen earlier today while I was tinkering with the s-off exploit trying to get it to work. I was using the Stock Rooted Odexed rom when I first noticed I couldnt connect to my WiFi network. After installing Newts NOS v1.0.2 HTCOneVZW I have had no problems with connecting to and using my WiFi.

Wi-fi should work the same, if anything you should have data or network problems.
Try booting into recovery (Volume Up + Home + Power, hold together). It doesn't require root, you will be in Samsung's stock recovery.
Clear only Cache then reboot your phone. This will not clear your data or apps, this will simply delete their temporary files and force them to re-configure themselves to adjust to your current phone's state.
Maybe try connecting to a different wi-fi connection?

Hi
I installed the new NK1 firmware on my t-325 and since then my inernet connection keeps dropping with "AP currently not in use. Internet connection too slow" message. The internet connection is obviously not slow and signal strength is maxed out. Is there anything I can do ? I have already regretted upgrading. :crying:

I have the sm-t320 also on the NK1 firmware but I haven't experienced any wifi dropouts , but I did a clean install by doing a factory reset, have you tried to remove the AP and re-add it back in?
To remove the network go to Settings - Wi-Fi - Long Press on the AP and press "Forget network" , then refresh networks and re-connect to it, or if SSID is hidden scroll down and click Add Wi-Fi netwrok.

Yes, I tried everything but to no avail. I even selected another channel on the router. My wife has the same tablet with the older firmware and everything is fine by her.
It seems that I need to roll back to the previous firmware but I don't know how to start it since I have never had a Samsung before. I downloaded the original firmware, Odin v3.9 and installed Kies to have the necessary drivers. I don't want to brick my device, so is there anything I need to be aware of before I start flashing ?
