Ok, just upgraded from a Note3 to a Note4 and so far I like the phone but my biggest gripe is some "issues" with the dialer. On my Note3 when in landscape mode the caller info would show in landscape, on my Note4 it shoes up as portrait. Also, the favorites show up as individual squares (Note4) rather than one contact per row(Note3). Is there a setting that I am missing to change these items?
Thanks!

Now I know touchFlo 3D isn't customizable (yet), but there are many difference's between the versions 2.1 and 2.5.
So what should TouchFlo 3D have? Since my immagination isn't so great and to keep it realistic my preferred version is a combination of what is available today:
Start screen with weather and apps/contact/bookmark/widget list like in TF3D 2.5.
The Contact list from the 2.5 version. Scrolling through you favorite contacts in the 2.1 version just isn't convinient.
The same message tab, but the message application from the 2.1 version. The 2.5 version has the option to instantly change you message in a mms. Also adding the contact you want to send it to isn't convinient. It comes up with email adresses. If I wanted to send an email I would have picked: write email. NExt to that the 2.5 version is slow when it comes to text messaging. (ofcourse the 2.5 version isn't ready yet).
Email as it is with both version. (in the email app, they should delete the wiping feature, because scrolling sideways is irritating have to press the "enable scrolling" text). Just put the option go to next/prvious message in the menu.
Calander app as in version 2.5. I noticed I didn't even use the other calander views then month and day, but the agenda view sometimes did came inhandy.
The internet tab should be as in 2.5, where you can see the preload pages, but it should work with opera. As nowe I am able to set opera as default, but the preload pages still don't work.
The weather tab is ok. I'd like to tap on the sepperate days and see the morning, day, evening forecast.
The music tab in 2.5 is great. The same for the media (video and pics) tab. But it's all just a bit to sloppy. It should be really fast to be convinient.
The stock tab, for me I don't use it. But it seems ok to me.
Ofcourse this all should work in landscape. 2.5 doesn't work very well in landscape.
One more feature I would like to build in is an easy way to make apps like twitter/facebook/gps navigation/office/messenger work withing TF3D. Each with individual tabs. Maybe you get to much tabs, but then there should be a way to make a second layer with apps. Like a messaging tab. When you slided over there a new slider comes a available with the general slider minimizing. There you can slide between skype/msn messenger/ twitter etc.
This would require a lot of memory though.
So what do you think?
What would make touchflo better? What features should be added?
the worst shortcoming of touchflo3d is that its desktop cannot be cusomized.
this is very pitty indeed, those designers are dumb....
I like your tab within tab idea. It would be great to have a PIM tab. Inside would be sub-tabs for calendar, tasks and notes. Probably just wishful thinking though. But anyway, I'm not terribly bothered with what we've got so far.
Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone using Handcent/Go SMS has their MMS pictures turn upside down or sideways? Wondering if this is a common issue.
It looks like it only sends upside down when the picture is taken with the camera button on the left in landscape mode, and turns sideways when the picture is in portrait.
Any way around this?
I have the same problem!! Not cool at all. Hope soemeone will help us out
It seems to be a problem related to samsung phone. I have this temporary fix for you. Before sending the desired pictures you have to go in gallery select the picture and crop it and save it you're picture wont turn sideways. Quite annoying to do but at least it works.
I've read up on it before and it's supposedly because of the 'metadata' standard which they (SAMSUNG) use. Never supposed to use your camera in portrait mode supposedly...
Even though; how come none of the SMS apps let you rotate a picture in-app? Very amateur stuff.
I have this problem with galaxy s2 but my samsung corny pro was fine. What annoyed me abouth this phone too is that you can t set different sms tone for you're contact and was able to do so with my older corny pro
I`m having this issue on my Skyrocket any way to fix this, I love go sms pro, but cant live with this upside down pictures
same here
Mate of mine and I are having the exact same issue, pics taken in portrait are displaying in landscape (although my landscape tests so far seem to be displaying properly).
My mate and I have the same setup, as follows:
SGSII i9100
ROM: FoxHound GreyFox v2 - XWLP9 (ICS 4.0.3)
Kernel: Siyah v3.2.5.1+
Modem: XXLPB
Go SMS Pro is the SMS/MMS app.
Also, just for reference, when I test this process (adding a pic to an SMS) using the default android messaging app it always attaches correctly...
As a side note, I've also noticed that when you open the normal image gallery, the thumbnail is showing the photo in landscape but when you click on the thumbnail to open it it opens correctly in portrait, so I'm guessing, as suggested above, that it's not specific to the messaging app but something to do with the storage of the image.
Anyone got any further details/info on this and how to resolve it?
Have this same issue on GoSMS Pro. Anyone find a fix for it?
Anyone know if this is possible or if there is an app out on the Market for this?
I would like to be able to call up a Popup Dialer in the Note 2, similar to calling up a Popup S-Note with the S-Pen. I suppose I've had more than a few instances where I was reading something that contained a phone number that wasn't clickable and wish I could either keep that note open in a small window while I switch to the dialer, or else if I could just call up a mini dialer in a popup window so that I could dial the number as I was reading it.
I don't think the dialer is available in multiwindow mode, unless maybe you apply a MOD to have ALL apps available for window mode.
TIA
Great Idea! Might want to submit that to Samsung.
or dialer widget?

Click to collapse
xperiacle has done this by adopting a tablet ui for the galaxy note 1.
Here is the link. Check out the second video in the OP "TW - Tableui" I would love to see some of this capability on GN2!

You could just use multi window. Works fine for me.
Swiftly sent from my Galaxy Note 2 via XDA premium
this looks really cool, so is any of it available for Note 2?
use multiwindow... or dialer widget and popup widget apps to make the widget popup when you hit a shortcut on screen.. to activate (without needing to go back to a home screen) you can use whatever you want.. wave launcher, dock4droid..etc.. or even just dock it in the bottom dock.

Geezus! I understand since I've switched from a note3 to a new note4 there will be some changes, but I've gotten used to (and really like) a few of the native note apps and functions like:
Action Memo widget
Where it shows a yellow post-it-note style memo directly on the home screen. You can simply swipe up or down to scroll though your different memos. The fine people at samsung thought to do away with this! Action memo isn't completely taken away, but the widget is gone!
Also,
The ability to hover your finger above the screen to preview messages and emails, of course you need to use the samsung stock messaging and email apps. However they taken this functionality away! This is what separated my high end phone to other phones that's couldn't do this. I guess now I'll just need to whip put my spen and show the differences.
Any thoughts?
To some people, this probably isn't a big deal, however to others (including me) is!
Yeah!! I was so bummed about the finger hover thing. I came from a note 2!!! AND I WAS excited for this feature...
Action Memo's are now saved in S Note and show up in the S Note widget. They can be synced to the desktop and other Samsung devices which is smart. Having them as an island never really made sense. At least to me.
An action note widget work around that I found...
So I opened an action note and used the pin icon to place it on the screen as a widget. But that only does one memo. So I created a new memo, and then repeated it over and over. I now have a home page with 2 rows of 4 memos on it. I just use them as scratch paper and then clear them when I am done for the day.
The only catch is that you cannot save an empty memo as a widget, so I put a single dot on the corner of each memo and then it saves.
Does anyone know of a way to force GMail to use the nice two column layout like Outlook at Samsung Mail? My work forces me to use GMail but I would like it to take better advantage of the big fold screen.
Thanks,
Steve
Looks like it uses the tablet format when in landscape mode (rotate your main display sideways), but in portrait it is always in phone mode
