Hello people.. Its been a good time using my RedMi 1S.. Everything was quite good when it happened. For several days, I'm having a strange issue with the camera. Whenever I take a picture with flash enabled (or automatic flash), the picture is captured in some fraction of seconds after the flash. The result is, I keep on getting only dark images, most of them totally black (The flash darkens the background and the picture is capture maybe 0.0012 seconds later). This wrong timing of flash and camera has appeared suddenly over a few days. This happens mostly with MIUI 6. To check the stability, I tried it on MIUI 5 also but it was happening even on the stock ROM. Please help me with this, and is anyone having the same problem?? Please help me out brothers.
ThankYou.
Try new camera app...many are available on play store...see if that works

I've tried using different roms even tried stock and different camera apps but i'm still having similar problems. For example: when i use the stock camera app, i can see everything just fine. When I take the picture though you can't see anything. I then go to my gallery and take a look at the photos and its just a black picture. Right now i'm using Silent Camera app, When i app loads the screen is very blurry and distorted. After I take the picture though the picture comes out perfectly clear. I'm not sure what's going on. Right now im' using PAC All-star rom. I've tried everything and don't know what to do. Hopefully someone can help me out with this. Thanks!
u tried Odin stock? if GB 2.3.6 camera app out of the box isn't working, it may be a hardware issue
I am currently running CyanogenMod 11 (M3) for t-mobile. I really need help fixing my camera. I was having problems with my camera earlier but now it is constantly force closing. Just recently the camera updated to Google camera and I was hoping the force would not occur any more, but now it's even worse. If any ideas how to fix PLEASE tell me because I have many needs for the camera. This how the problem occurs: I try to take a picture and it will take it then it will freeze and I have to kill the app. Then I try to restart the app but I get an "Camera error: cannot connect to the camera." The problem was really bad after I flashed the ROM so I deleted that camera and flashed a "better" one. I try to use the other features of this updated Google camera but none of them work such as: lens blur, panorama or photo sphere . I would really love having these features working or even taking regular pictures without any force closes. I have to use the camera everyday so please help as soon as possible. Please anyone help me solve this problem!!!! (Current Phone: Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH-T999)
Thanks for the help in advance!!!!
Go back to stock..
I tried the new Google camera on C-ROM and had the same problem. Like the previous poster said, go back to CM stock camera.

If you really want to stick with CM 11, maybe try flashing Ktoonsez's kernel. I've been having this camera issue (that's only temporarily fixed if I reboot) for a while, but yesterday I flashed KT747 and it's been working since (knock on wood).

I haven't had issues other than pictures taking some time to load, meanwhile they appear blurry until loaded.
Did you try viewing with Quickpic ? I don't use the gallery from Oppo as it's slower.
Also, what's your OS version? If nothing works out then you may need to reformat completely and install latest stable version (1.2.6i as of this time).
I see the pictures from the stock CM11 gallery, but I've noticed something.
All these pictures I've taken were saved on my SD card, today I made some new photos and selected the Phone memory.
Untill now, there are fine and can see them, no problem.
Do you know, there are problems with some SD cards, that the Oppo doesn't support verry good?

When the problem first started I was running CyanogenMod 11 nightly. It ran sporadically and I replaced the battery, which fixed all of the problems I was experiencing except for the camera crash. I tried out SlimRom and then back to CM but it doesn't seem to work on any ROMs. I also tried disabling the built in camera and using the Google camera, and vice versa.
There are two error it gives:
Camera Error!
Cannot connect to camera.
And:
Unfortunately, camera has stopped.
I assume that the first error is given by the application and the second error is given by android itself.
The really weird thing, is that the CamScanner app can access my camera fine without crashing.
I have just been dealing with the issue, because I have tried everything I can think of to fix it. But I would like to use my camera as I am sure anyone could understand.
If anyone could brainstorm up any ideas as to why its crashing, feel free to share.

After updating Cyanogenmod to the latest nightly, the problem persists.
For anyone who has the same problem, I did deep digging on the web and found some flashable zips marketing themselves as camera fixes, but all of then failed.
I did however come up with a work around that I am perfectly comfortable with keeping permanently. I installed the ex-cyanogenmod camera -- Focal.
Focal is on the Google play store and hasn't crashed for me once yet. Why get rid of something that ain't broke, Cyanogenmod?

i think the slimROM thread has a camera-fix-.zip on it , or did. but i see you fixed the issue.:good:
"all i can really do , is stay out of my own way and let the will of heaven be done"
I found at least 4 different ones for the Galaxy S3 but all of them failed. I'll have look into the SlimRom one though because I don't think that was one of the ones I tried.
Hi, did anyone had found a bug creating photospheres pictures with the Streetview app or orther, i have oxygen 3.1.3 and when i tried to create a photosphere the app just take 1 photo and does not allow me to continue taking the other photos, have someone tried it after the firmware update Oxygen 3.2.1?
The bug is still there with 3.2.1.
Have anyone tried in a custom rom?
I can confirm this bug with OOS 3.2.1
Seems to be fixed in 3.2.2 thankfully. Photospheres and panoramas are now quick and reliable. Google cam still doesn't show in the store but apk mirror to the rescue!

This is not working in 3.2.7, if it was ever fixed in 3.2.2. then it is broken again
I contacted support, they don't know how to solve it, don't say if this a known bug which they are planning to fix and just suggest to return the phone
This has been reported by me the day the phone came out. It hasn't been fixed and probably will never be. Haven't tried a custom rom. I think it has something the do with the bad camera drivers. Since snapchat also has issue and any other 3rd party app also is struggling a bit.
