[Q] Change clock to GMT - Fire TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
I'm in the UK. Today I received a rooted box from the states. I have tried to change the time on it but I can only see US regions. How can I get around this?
Thanks

From the AFTV/Kodi Wiki.
You can change the FTV to use non-US Time Zones by using TimeZone Changer.

I was using a rooted box box from the states with an early firmware version. Now updated to the latest pre-rooted firmware and have been able to set the correct time and region.

LG Firmware update with tethering

Just available right now in Italy under the carrier Vodafone IT a firmware update for the LG Optimus 7 which finally enables tethering/internet sharing on the device.
Firmware now is 1.0.16.10
Source, in Italian:
http://www.plaffo.com/2011/10/lg-optimus-7-disponibile-un-nuovo-aggiornamento-firmware
Hidden Wi-Fi are also now available after this update
Weird. I got an update but my firmware and radios are still at 1.0.31.10 :-/
Would this apply to LG Quantum (7Q) as well?
Canada
Dang, I wonder if rebranding it using the registry editor would make the firmware update available in Canada (Telus)...
I got this!
Received the update this morning on Vodafone UK. Firmware and Radio both updated to 1.0.16.10 and WiFi tethering is present as is hidden wifi network support.
The bad news is that the GPS problems experienced with 1.0.13.10 are still the same. As nice as it is to have the Wifi additions, I'd rather have had the GPS issues fixed
Still no update for me, even though I have an open market Optimus 7...
My OPT7 brand TIM with 1.0.2.10 firm have not received the update...
Are tricks or solutions?

I got the GPS to work properly with this firmware by making the following changes with MFG:
In Engineer Menu / Device Test / Sensor Test / GPS Test / GPS Setting / System Setting:
URL supl.vodafone.com:7275 (Default)
posnode 255 (Default)
2G Loc Estimate
3G Loc Estimate (Default)
Use Security No Use
MO Method Control Plane
With Security On, the lock kept dropping. With MO Method as User Plane (the default) it took much longer to get locks.
For me at least, everything seems to work fine with these settings with the new LG firmware update. I've not used the MFG GPS Viewer to kick start things, and I've turned my phone off and on again many times without touching the location settings and everything works as it should.
Not sure what the implications of not having Security enabled are, I guess it could mean that someone (who???) could intercept the location data but since I'm neither a spy or on a military mission I think no-one's going to bother. Nothing but location is transmitted so there's no hacking potential.
also with european unlock firmware is not available the last update firmware

[Q] 4.2.2 update what do you think??

No But the answer is!
I'll try to keep it short as we already have a thread on what all noticeable has changed etc.
1: Upgrade or Not as of now is more of a subjective thing. What I may find might better/worse might be completely opposite for you, as a lot of minor things have changed. Given that most will succumb to some form of an update and have to accept what is made available to them at the time, it seems like updating should be perhaps a good enough consideration, however, check your region and firmware on sammobile.
I would advise against updating unless applicable firmware version for your region ends with MI1/MI2 or above (MJ1,MJ2..,MK1, ..) (I/J/K denote build months, in this case being september/october/november resp). There are noted issues across different region with older 4.2.2 firmwares. Mainly S-pen and Magnetic cover issues (alarm) which again may or may not be of any consequence to you.
Q2:. Why didn't you get an OTA? :
2.1: Is your Device factory Stock?.
2.2: Might have to do with that samsung has not released updates for your device region yet and perhaps also look into settings if auto OTA Updates are enabled.
I have updated my Note 8 today manually because it has not been available neither via OTA nor via KIES - a quick check on SAMMOBILE shows no 4.2.2 version published for my region. Therefore I decided to push manually the latest 4.2.2 XX version (XX in the name of the ROM means that it is for Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom).
Note that it is the third 4.2.2 XX release which I hope is good enough. Samsung has released 4.2.2 versions for a few other regions too dealing with the reported problems. I am not aware of any strict schedule region by region - it means that you may wait quite long for your regional version. Therefore I replaced my XE version (Bulgaria, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Ukraine) with the available XX one.
The update went smoothly even on my encrypted Note 8 and at first glance everything is running fine, every setup and data is preserved. The first thing I noticed was the "flatter" color palette as most of the contemporary changes in the colors. I do not see change in the performance, neither the sound quality for example...
There are some minor improvements in the 4.2.2 user interface which I was missing in 4.1.2 and they were the second driver for the upgrade. The main was the sheer curiosity .
So, it is really up to you whether you will go for your manual update

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 SM-R820 Region Change Files

Hi guys,
First post, so please let me off if I haven't followed protocol properly. I have been looking at all the other threads and posts and I have come to the conclusion that this is possible, but I need some guidance:
Bought the watch second hand. Samsung Pay isn't available. Samsung Tech help believe the watch isn't from the UK. I also believe this to be true, as when it is reset, the first language to appear is German, before it syncs with the phone and changes to English.
So I would like to change the region from Germany to England to get Samsung Pay enabled.
I have downloaded NetOdin3
I am capable of connecting to the watch in boot mode through wireless.
I have downloaded the combination firmware and stock firmware from https://forum.xda-developers.com/sm.../samsung-galaxy-watch-mactive-2-gwa2-t3968437 where adfree posted the links.
This is where I am stuck. I am unsure if these are the right files for the UK, because that thread was to change it from Germany to "ser"
From what I've read I need to change some text in the combination firmware, but how do I do this, in NetOdin3? or some other program.
Secondly what do I need to change it from and to? I understand its to get the region from Germany to UK, but what is the region code for the UK?
I appreciate I am a total beginner and have probably just asked some real basic questions, however after reading the thread about the guy who flashed his 820 with 830 firmware and bricked it, I'm a little more worried about getting something wrong.
Cheers in advance
You have to change from DBT to BTU..BTU is UK CSC.

OK, thanks.
So do I need to edit the files that @adfree linked in SDP?
or are those files ready to go and do I need to edit some files off the watch somehow?
Cheers

I have r6 docomo and I can find updates using Japan VPN.
It's really hard to update Softbank devices. I have zero 2 and r5g and this is a headache.
You can:
1) Buy Japan SIM - people say it is the most reliable choice
2) You can use Japan VPN . It might works but not always because of Softbank
3) You can hard reset your device and don't add any Google accounts, don't use gps, SIM cards. Add only WIFI and Japan VPN to find a new firmware. When device finds it and starts downloading you can disable your VPN connection to download with normal speed. You should do these steps with each update.
To know about new firmware use Softbank site. They post when the firmware is ready.
Be careful because I updated docomo r6 yesterday and now camera app opens with max brightness, I can't disable this thing.

thank you
looks like I'll need to get hold of a jp sim
because VPN didn't work for me
couldn't locate the Leica's firmware update page on Softbank but I'm sure if the R6 has an update then perhaps Leica should follow...
At this time I'm willing to accept max brightness bug if they are bringing optimisations elsewhere.. it's got a pretty heavy battery drain going on with first party homescreen for example

You can try this:
Turn off Google sync (everywhere), gps and pull out SIM. Restart device and turn on wifi and JP VPN.
It might works

no.. for one I don't know for sure there is a new firmware (couldn't find the page on Softbank's website)
I'm just going to buy a japanese sim when I can. apparently even a used / deactivated one is good enough.
There's a new firmware release on oct 13, anyone able to update it? (using which method)

for anyone who already updated their phone, how is the improvement going ? is the camera quality got better ?
it's a shame that this phone has such promising hardware, yet weak software optimisation
If you have Softbank device you have to
1) factory reset
2) do not plug in your SIM
3) do not add Google account, only wifi settings
4) do not change region/time settings
5) turn on any VPN app, choose Japan
6) done. You will find an update
Every new update you can find only this way or you can buy Softbank sim
So, if you have Docomo device you have to:
1) just use any VPN app
Maybe: without SIM and with Japan region in settings.

Hi, can you provide the more details procedure to update the phone ?
Did you just go to Setting - System - System Update to update ? Or is there any other procedure needed ?
I already use proton, but system update said my system is up to date (which not the case) , am still on 1.0.0.6 an the latest from docomo i believe is 1.0.0.8
