Hey i have the lg g3 ls990 (sprint) running the latest firmware. Ive tried stump root, towel root, Iosroot and purple drake and nothing works. Stump says my device is already rooted (its not), towel root says device not supported, iosroot and purple drake both say error when adb tries to sideload the root. My phone does allow USB debugging and is on PTP. Please help
Downgrade firmware and you will be able to root it
In FAQ topic that is listed in my signature is link for spreadsheet. Check it to see on which version you have to downgrade.

Sometimes the updated firmware doesn't allow root.. You can try this root tool. Read Method 5 of this post. Attached is the root tool. Good luck

I can't root my G3, I've tried IO root, root tool, Purple Drake, towel root.
When flashing in recovery file validation always fails.
I have the LG D855 running Android 4.4.2
Any help would be much appreciated.
Try stump root. It literally took me 5 mins to complete the entire process.
Here is the official thread for stump root.
So a few months ago I used Stump Root to root my Tmobile LG G3, then without thinking I installed a software update. Now when I go to Stump Root it says i'm rooted, but when I go to SuperSU it says I need to manually re-root. How do I do this?

Just use purple drake to reroot especially on T-Mobile. Works perfectly on T-Mobile G3
Is anyone else having an issue rooting their LG G3 with 4.4.2 Kit Kat? I tried IOROOT and plug in the device after enabling USB debugging in developer options. There is supposed to be a menu that shows up on the phone but all I get is a "dead" Android guy. Any suggestions?
Hi there.
Don't go through so much trouble.
Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/root-stump-root-lg-g3-sprint-verizon-t2850906 and download the apk Stump. Follow the instructions on the thread.
Enjoy your rooted G3.
*This method will only work if your software version is pre L.
If not try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/root-root-lg-g3-easily-purpledrake-lite-t2821000
This is Purple Drake method. Not as easy as Stump but will get you there.
Depend of your variant. Check your variant and search for root for that one. The most of root options dont support all variants.
As you already saw at IOROOT page, there are links for root options for other variants.
Don't just download 1st one and try, or try random like @ac3ofS2 mentored. Check variant and root your device.
Trying things on that way can lead to brick your device.
p.s. if your device is not found, check do you have installed good USB drivers.
Anyone successful rooted g3s(beat) d722k lollipop (android 5.0)?
Temproot
Hi, i used LG One Click root and King root. Both work but when you reboot your device, the root access is removed. It might help but .............
For ino, i have a LG G3S D722K 5.0.2
New Method
Hi. Found that link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3129197
Seems it can be done manually, i'm going to try it and hope it works.
Kingroot
In case anyone still can't find a solution. I found only Kingroot would work with my device.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=12586
I previously used purpledrake fine on kitkat, but i tried that, lg oneclick, towel root and another one and couldn't find anything to give me a perm root.
The only downside is you need to use Kinguser, instead on superSU or superuser. I know there is a workaround that just didn't work for me.
Now I just have an Xposed incompatibility issue to look into...

Issue with lg g3 beat with lolip 5.0.2
Hello, i rooted with LG One Click (http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/lg-g3s-beat-d722-thread-t3110048). Root Checker says:
ROOT ACCESS: Device rooted
SUPER USER: SU FOUND
BUSY BOX: Busy box not installed
and path information, i guess for su
The issue is i can't do nothing else:
Installed supersu but don't update binaries.
And any app that ask for root access do not have it.
Preciate some help (newbi in rooting and so...).
Thank you
I am really sorry for opening a new thread, but i have searched extensively and found nothing related to it.
The problem is I recently bought a G3 Ls990 Sprint and i used ioroot and that lg root script 2.4 to root my G3.
My G3 build number is Zv4, and it didnt rooted my phone.
Which i came to knew later that only stump can root zv4.
The problem is, it somehow managed to change my download mode and it is not working. it says secure boot error and flashes led then restarts, mobile is in use and it is ok except then the download mode and unrootable issue. So i cannot TOT or revert it to stock.
One more thing mobile is not rooted, flashify cannot work as it is not rooted.
Stump root shows as rooted and cannot root it, and root checker says not rooted.
Basically i cannot root it because stump shows it as rooted and i cannot install twrp etc on it.
So its quiet complicated as i dont know what to do.
I know basics and all and i am not a noob or amateur related to android I just flashed or done something wrong with out reading. As i have owned G4 V10 and G3.
