Hi all,
First of all i would like to inform you that this is my first ever post on this forum... or any other forum for that matter. I have an issue on my mobiel device.
This morning I installed original firmware update on my samsung galaxy note 2.
The menu and back buttons have stopped working ever since I installed the official android 4.3 firmware update.
Other than this issue I have not yet encountered any other problems.
Can any one help or give suggestion on how I can fix this issue? And thus make the device's buttons work again?
Thanks alot

After that i tried to reinstall update from kies also it is not sense. Could you help us please. My phone has United Arab Emirates rom
I think i'm going to send the phone to service for repairs.
By the way i might try to flash 4.3 via ODIN, do you think it may cause any problems or trigger knox counter.
Can you please advise?

First i tried to flash with another official rom via ODIN, but nothing change, after that i tried to flash with leakage rom for return to 4.1.2 but my phone gave DEVICE UNSUPPORTED error.
Could anybody help me for my problem
Once u get the official, u will get the bootloader as well.
With the new bootloader, u r unable to downgrade in a normal way via odin.
But I did few updates on several N7105 through OTA, and nver got problems with capacitive touch.
Sent from SM-N9005 with xda-app
ring samsung
I was going to say do a factory reset but that was mentioned above. before I take my phone ever to Samsung service center call Samsung tech support in your country. when I first got into rooting my phone and modifying it I got into a few small problems such as yourself and I posted on forums but did not have the patience to wait so I ring Samsung and speak to tech support and always got the problem fixed. give it a go, you got nothing to loose

Yes you are correct but in my country warranty system is different. My phone has other companies warranty. So when i call them they said sent yiur phone to our service. But i think they are not very experience for this issue and they can say this is customer mistake your phones buttons get a damage. Therefore i m sure this is software problem and i m waiting an answer from here. If nobody can find a solution for my problem as a last solution i should sen my phone to service

Try this app, it will not fix the problem but will enable you to use the phone without problems. You may even do so with minimal loss of display space by making buttons overlay the actual display and making them semi transparent.

I do and thanks for the response.
Since trying the install a few times I have now lost root access. Now when I try to transfer files to my phone through USB so I can root it again it always times out.
Other than the above the phone is working.
What should I do?
I just tried a different usb cable and it worked. Phone is now rooted. I'll uninstall knox and try it again.

When I rooted my S3 i9300 I had similar problems with timing out, I tried one desktop PC and a laptop, with no luck. I finally dug out an old netbook which worked - so I guess it would be worth trying a different PC if you can?
This is a link to disabling KNOX - my phone doesn't have it so I've not tried it myself http://www.androidpit.com/how-to-uninstall-knox
Hope that helps!
edit: Or a different cable lol

Are you talking about in the recovery? if yes ignore it and choose no or get a better recovery like philz where it doesn't pester you about it.
Also this is in the wrong phone forum, this is the international version. Ill get a mod to shift it for you.
also its the i747 not 1747.
Hi,
I have a galaxy note 2014 edition that has retail mode on, it was a demo ex. Is there anyway to remove this from the device? Maybe through factory reset with stock firmware or something? Have no idea how to do a factory reset with stock firmware if that works.

Hi,
To do a factory reset: Switch off the tablet.
Then power it up by pressing simultaneously and holding : Volume up + Home + Power
When in Recovery mode move the cursor with the volume key and execute with the power key.
Select Factory reset and execute it.

Hi,
OK, the first thing to know is which device you have: Sm-P600/601/605 ??
Then to know which ROM is installed on the tablet ?
If you can go to setting : then scroll down to "About the phone" you should see the version of the ROM.
With that you go to sammobile
You put your device type and you will get all the stock ROM's
You click on the one you want and on the next windows you will have the URL to download and the way to install it.
To be able to download the ROM you have to register on this site but it's free of charge !!

Its a SM-P600,
Kernel Version: 3.4.39-1691324
Build Number: JSS15J.P600XXXUAMI8_LLK
I tried that site but canceled it cause it said it will take 15h to download the firmware.
You can try from HERE
But I am not sure it will be any faster.
Those ROM's are quite big > 1.xx Gb so if your internet connection is slow it's take time.

One more question, I canĀ“t seem to set some kind of password for the lockscreen since the lock screen option is gone in some way. It says something about Knox but what is that?
Can i add some other app that handles the lock screen?
About Knox: it's some kind of security introduced by Samsung some months ago, a real pain in the back..
Have a look HERE (for example) for more details.
Yes you can install applications w/o problem.
Knox will only get involved when you start playing with the ROM's, Bootloader etc ..
Hi
Hello guys, I have an Galaxy S6 Edge Demo version, I want to know if I change the motherboard with another with GSM function, it will work fine ?
The digital finger print doesn't work, I have to change the button or how can I fix this ?
And another thing, in the background of display, you can barely notice a text, this : Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, this thing is from display or motherboard ? Because I want to know, if I change the motherboard, it will dissapear that text ?
Thank you.
I would like to remove the starting screen ''Live demo unit'' on SM-T800X tablet to the stock one, and after flashing I have got the demo pieces of text in the bottom of the screen.
I tried to re-partition the install with ODIN and used a PIT file but no changes. Anybody can help with this problem please ? Is there any solution to change the demo unit to look as a stock SM-T800 ?
Also if there any solution to change KNOX value to 0 would be great.
On reboots of my phone I get Kernel is not Seandroid Enforcing across the top of my boot screen ,anyone know what's causing this?

It's normal on 5.1.1 with a non stock kernel, nothing to be worried about.

So I have the same thing for my sprint galaxy s6 5.1.1 . Its rooted (obviously ) but i wanted to know if there was a way to remove the root and put everything back to normal without losing all my data. I can't connect to the google play store at all (check connection and try again). This is the main reason i want it to go back to normal. I used the unroot option in the supersu and tried uninstalling but i keep getting uninstall unsuccessful. I turned off oem unlocking and usb debugging. I dont know what else to do and im new to the site and dont know where to go for help so im posting here. Thanks in advance.

1. is it causing a longer start time for the phone?
2. can we get rid of the message anyway?
Mine too, after rooted and flashing 5.1.1. If anyone know how to get rid of it, much appreciated.

Download the firmware, and extract "boot.img.lz4" from AP.
Use 7-zip or something else to compress the boot file and choose TAR format.
Use Magisk to patch the "boot.img.tar", and you will get "magisk_patched.tar" in /Download folder.
Flash it as AP and wipe user data. (You should unlock the bootloader.)
Then you have successfully rooted your device.
How to download the firmware.
Use Samfirm to search device model and CSC code.
It seems that Sammobile has not released the firmware of the new Galaxy Tab S7 series.
All working good here, Downloaded your boot tar from the other thread seems fine at the moment.
is there a way to reset Knox afterwards, so I can still use Samsung pass, and not have to deal with Knox yelling at me at boot every time?

Normally, there is no way to reset the Knox. Actually, Knox is protected by an e-fuse. When you flash customized software, the Knox will be tripped, and this is a physical damage, unless you can fix the e-fuse.

Can you still update via software update or would you end up having to flash updates manually after rooting? With regards to rooting, do you lose HDCP? On my Note 7 and Note 9 HDCP become disabled when device is custom (Apps that use it like Netflix refuse to load video due to issues with HDCP)

Download the latest firmware, and extract the "boot.img.lz4" from AP. TAR it and then patch it. Flash BL, AP and HOME_CSC. Then reboot and flash "magisk_patched.tar" as AP. You will not lose your data.
I can still watch Netflix without any problems.

OK, I'll try it when my warranty is about to end or I get really bored with my S7+.
I know this is a question that might be better suited for its own thread but I kinda think its a quick answer for you guys.
What do you gain from root on this specific device? I haven't had to root a device in a few years since Android has gotten pretty dammed good for my use case, but what's there to be had from rooting a tablet?
I'm looking forward to my Tab S7+ but if I can make it better with root then I'd love to do it.

I have rooted my Tab S7+ what i gained is the ability to add a system wide ad block with adguard doh + firewall with the ability to use a vpn at the same time.
Also bouncer now works seamlessly with a rooted device. I also use warden which blocks in app trackers and loggers from system apps and debloat easily from the device without using adb.
I am able to use tasker to seamlessly adjust apps that are not optimized for tablets in landscape mode so that they work properly on my device.
All of that is only possible with a rooted device and im discovering new tweaks every single day.
Is there any downgrade in widevine when rooting? Or any other issues with video resolution due to rooting?

When i flash patched file and reboot into recovery then do Wipe/Factory Reset then restart with
Power + volume up - it goes into boot loob
Only way out is Power + volume down
This way i boot system with no issues however magisk still showes not installed.
