Its literally impossible to prevent it from dropping all the time, that white coat shouldn't be this vulnerable, as for cases I really hate using them cause they make the device look very ugly.

Really, you can't figure out an answer to your ridiculous question and reject the only two logical solution offered to you (don't drop your phone or buy a case)?

My previous phones have fallen plenty of times without having any type of scratches, even 5 years old phones, i just expected this to endure a little better
Well then you're only option is to buy a new phone.

is it the metal that's scratching? If so, someone posted a how-to on removing these scratches using a very fine grit sand paper. I'll see if I can find it if you're interested.
This isn't the post I was looking for, but i found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57749236&postcount=1
If you refuse to use a case, you can try using clear nail polish to add a protective layer (obviously not on the screen) . Barring that, you're out of luck.

Well, like most G2/Z users, I am suffering from the bronzing of the soft-textured parts of our devices. I barely even use my keyboard in fear that it'll get worse. Usually I wouldn't care about such a thing but I plan on keeping this device in good condition so it has a better re-sale value. I want to sell this so I can get a dualcore device as soon as they become available.
So I want to find out what its called in hopes that I find a remedy to cure this bronzing lol. I might not find anything that can remove it, but it won't hurt to try
Thanks for any input guys.

Actually, every review I've read says its a type of plastic, smarty. Seems to me that its too hard to be rubber. Although there are tons of various rubber formulations.

It's the first time I hear about that problem. I haven't found anything on xda and Google. I probably haven't used the appropriate terms
Do you have a link or what are the usual terms that are used to describe that problem?
As far as I know it's just rubberized plastic. But if it's bronzing on its own it might be a bad batch of the plastic. This happened with a lot of products, most famously the SNES (Super Nintendo). Sometimes the chemicals won't get mixed properly, etc.

There are a couple threads about it right here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884092
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822093
It's a super soft plastic. The more plasticizer you put in say, polyurethane, the softer it becomes. They use a similar product when prepping a car bumper before they paint it in order to increase the chance the paint will stick.
Anyway, that's my best educated guess. A soft polyurethane coating. Basically, soft paint.
Its called Soft Touch Plastic a favorite with HTC though I wouldn't know about the discoloration.

I know that this topic has been discussed before so sorry for a repeat thread but has anyone discovered a bumper case yet for our phone or perhaps tried out a case for a different phone that fits ours?
Perhaps if we get enough people we can contact sgp about making their neo hybrid ex case for the e4gt..

Ebay does in fact have bumper cases, but none with an open back.
Modifying (cutting out the back) the existing ones from what I understand makes the surrounding edges loose.
their are a bunch on ebay that do have the back cut out cant remember who the seller/manufacturer is though. I think this is one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Smoke-Black...ccessories&hash=item35b7e3ef5a#ht_4330wt_1185

I've got three of these (there as cheap as 3.50 shipped if you dig), the green/clear, black/clear and a frost/frost. I've got a white/clear on the way for my white ET4G. I like them personally. Not exactly like the iPhone bumper cases but close enough.
Pictures speak volumes. Can take more if wanted/needed of the other colors.

I'm at work which blocks ebay links but most of the links in this thread point to a version of the case I have. When I get home later (or my notebook at lunch) I can post a link to the exact auction for my green case.
So is that the one with the clear back? If so you can't even tell, it looks like it has an open back.

It is the one with the clear back. I'll get a picture of it off the phone to hopefully capture better how clear it is. In person you can tell its there but IMHO it looks very nice and clean.
Here is a link to the green bumper case I have pictured.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEON-GREEN-...NG-EPIC-4G-TOUCH-D710-PROTECTOR-/400250640556
The attached hopefully gives a better idea of how "clear" the back plastic is. I personally like the added protection for the camera went setting the phone down on a table.
Can you take pictures of the sides please I want to see how it covers the volume and power buttons.
Hope these help, kind of hard to get decent pictures that close without a macro lens.
I should mention that I personally have no trouble with button usage on this case. Though truth be told I've had this type of case on my phone since I walked out of the Sprint store with it.

I honestly have no idea.
Totally taking a guess I FEEL it would loose quite a bit of integrity. While the back is sturdy I can bend it if pushed hard enough. The TPU/Gel/Candy 'bumper' i feel wouldn't have anything to pull it back together and would likely loose shape over time. Then again that whole last bit is my opinion and me more or less talking out my ass. For about or less than 4 bucks shipped I'd say its worth ordering one and giving it a shot if you're really curious about it.
Good luck!

Hello everyone,
I'm using the flip cover on my S3 and is exactly what i wanted. The only problem is the led being covered, so, i used a tool that i have to make holes on belts to make one on the cover and now is perfect for me.
See the pic below. The cover is very hard, i had to make a lot of "force" to make the hole.

I doubt they will but I think it would increase sales as a lot of people have pointed out the issue. I can't see how they can solve the issue of using the camera though.
Can someone that owns this case answer me this;
Is this cover protective for the screen in a case of a fall? I mean does it "lock" in place over the screen? If you turn it upside down for example, the flip opens?
I believe its the most basic thing that should be answered (if it does not protect the screen its useless) and no one in any review does this simple test.

I got one of these a couple of weeks back for my device. I found it was rather annoying having to hold it at an awkward angle when on the phone. I wish they'd made it flip up or down instead of to the side. It also means you can't hold it very well with your left hand either, as it adds even more width on to the device!
I've switched to a skin thingy now instead, even though it leaves the screen open to damage. I'm still looking to get some kind of plastic cover I can use with the skin I've got though.

Easy old trick is a sandwich bag and a little silicone. I know fishermen friends who did that with the Motorola bricks back in the day. But your real issue is the capacitive touch screen. It'll probably not pick up your fingers. Ever tried to use your phone with a drop on the screen? Tends to throw it off.

Geez, $40? IMO, for that kind of price, I think it would be beneficial cost wise to use the sandwich bag gimmick as stated above but find someone with one of those airtight bag sealers to protect the device furthermore. That's pretty much what that dry case is anyway, just in a more easy to use, continual usage, professional looking wrap.

A lot of people had issues with that cover scratching the back of their phone, maybe they changed the desing a li'l bit to fix this. I Have it and my phone is scratch free. Lucky Me I guess????
Ive had issue with those stains too, what pissed me off is this case also made a faint scratch on the top right body part (near front camera lens). Anyway, anybody have ideas on how to remove this scratch mark??
Yes, I've tried to erase it. Won't come off. Also tried soap and water, alcohol... no results. This is frustrating, my phone looks so old.
I've noticed it is not compatible with skins or more importantly (and practical), screen protectors.
It only works with screen protectors if you cut them which is pretty hard to do. I stopped using mine because of this..

IMO Gorilla Glass is quite reliable, so I'd rather protect the body (which dents/scratches fairly easily) than the screen.
Also got the "Double Dip" case. Mine is exactly.. 2 days old and i already got alot of stains on top.
Tried everything to remove it, alcohol, industrial grade stain remover. nothing, i havent got the scratch problem but who knows that might turn up sooner or later....
Will resort into buying another TPU case or something, this is kinda frustrating none the less...
