Try Shpongle: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230656
You only need to download a camera app like Camera JB+ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.moblynx.camerajbplus&hl=en

Helluuw Xda ppl,
After checking all the jb roms for the one x I totally lost track about what rom with what kernel etc.
Would you guys running jelly tell what rom and kernel you are running ?
I'm seeking for a stable and most important baterry friendly rom
Sorry for my english and thanks you guys !
I have tried all jb roms available.
Here is my verdict
1. Aosp by tgascoigne - less features but very light and fast. Average battery life with stick kernel. Frequency of updates -low
2. tbalden cm10 - plenty of features, fast, bug free when compared to other roms. Battery life is sad. Frequency of updates-high
3. Trip cm10 -just used it for one day, had to change coz most of the features wer not working
My suggestion
Stick to ics coz u will miss the HTC camera. I suggest u to check out ViperX ROM. If u find it laggy, install apex launcher, it's as smooth as jelly bean.

Help yourself. This question has been asked and repeatedly been answered already. And no matter how many people would suggest this or that rom it always ends up with you and your personal experience.

Oxygen 2.3.2

Hi,
Try Mildwild 5.0 Rom with manu kernel. It works great for me.

It will most likely end up with JB anyway.

Like the others suggested it all kind of depends on how you use your phone. I used mine as mp3 player and about 1hour of browsing a day. Only occasional calls a texts, but I found the latest oxygen gingerbread rom with launcher pro plus to be great.

Any Sense ROM
I get 36 hours using it normally on any Sense ROM (2.1, 3.0 or 3.5)
etc. ncessuch
I have dont have the most experience but of the roms I have tried, I found MokeeOS to have the best battery life - about 36 hours with texts, facebook & email checking and maps use.
I have used the following ROMs
1. stock sense
2. MIUI-AU
3.MIUI-XJ
4. MIUI Mararge
5. MokeeOS
6. Jellybean pre-alfa
I like MokeeOS the best but really like some of Jelly Beans features even though not everything works

Hmmm, in general Sense ROMs are the most battery-draining of all, especially the 3 and 3.5 ones (just imagine that the stock Desire came with just a version of Sense 1.0).
Rule of thumb is that the more "stripped" the ROM, the better the battery life will be. Therefore any AOSP ROM will generate maximum battery life.
It depends, but you can try any of the miui ROMs, or if you prefer sense ROMs you can try aurora.
A AOSP like oxygen or CM based rom should be fine.
For CM based kernels use ManU HAVS BFS Kernel or CronMod Kernel. Both are great oh battery!
For oxygen use Thalamus kernel or mod8 (which is the same thing with Smartass cpu governor).
Right now im running CM10 on my HTC ONe V CDMA/PrimoC and im very very pleased with the performance, increased battery life speed and so on but i also am a app developer and ive read in some forums that sometimes ROM's respond weirdly to app's that otherwise would run just fine on stock ROM.
The thing is i REALLY REALLY dont like HTC Sense, its slower, bulkier, and less customisable than CM10 and i dont want to have to revert to stock ROM unless theres a big difference in app stability on stock ROM. SO yeah should i go back to stock ROM to test out my apps ?
No need:beer: apps are stable on cm10

Hi all,
I'm currently looking for the fastest / best performing HTC Desire Rom.
As I'm playing Ingress, its really slow and closes very often. I was thinking flashing a Rom without Sense, as it would probably perform better.
I guess 2.3 is faster than the new built? Or is it the other way around?
Let me know if you have any suggestions, or if I should use a 2.3 no-sense Rom?
Regards

I would recommend AOKP VJ 4.2.2 Jelly Bean v2.1. In my eyes it is one of the fastest, smoothest and most stable CM 10.1 based ROMs at the moment. I appreciate that it constantly keeps the mem free above 100mb.
i'd say Mildwild roms are the fastest and most stable.
Been using them for a long time now....still very pleased with them.
They have a few small issues, but overall...the fastest roms available if u ask me.
Currently running MW9.5 Redux, but used MW8 before....i find MW8 a little bit faster and better...it's got a few more options than MW9.5
...hoping for and upgrade of the MW8 version....
Wanted to say thx for all your suggestions. I'm running 4.2.2 VJ CM 10.1 now, and its awesome.
Pretty fast, and i got plenty of RAM, so Ingress does not close when minimizing (not everytime at least)
Thx! :highfive:
Hey users ! I've seen that we have many avalaible roms but i want a stock rom because for me the battery life it's better. Can you recommend me a good, bugfree stock custom rom ?
I dont know what you mean by "stock custom rom", but i can recommend you JellyBreadv3.0.
It looks like jellybean, has a great performance and it doesnt drain battery so quickly.
I can use it for 1 day away from charger (with an hour of youtube(wifi) and an hour of 3G browsing).
