Hello everyone.
My frined just gave me a Xperia Play so i can play around with it and see if I can fix it. Now the problem is that it boots fine, shows Sony Ericcson , take a while and then shows a very strange screen just like that of the tv with no signal , like that with the flies one. can't post links.
So, i use flash tool to reflash it with R800i_4.0.A.2.368_World fw. Again the same thing. The bootloader is unlocked so i flashed with the Lupus kernel and no thing and again with doomkernel which seems to be working with this specific rom only but again this time the animation stays and then shuts down. The animation takes too long. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers.

Have you tried wotanserver.com
Otherwise, my guess is it might be a hardware issue, not a software one (because flashtool/update service/wotan server return your phone to stock. meaning if something was f*ed up, it should be fixed...)
Just use the Sues tool (aka. sony's flashing tool) and have it flash the latest update. If that doesn't work just tell your carrier that it did this after you installed and OTA update and maybe they'll give you a new one.
Yes!
Last Evening I tried the SE update service . right away it didnt work , so i posted , that my phone is still bricked. Today at school about 12 hours after i used the SE update service and the phone was "dead" it FINALLY booted to the os! Yay! im no longer bricked!
Thanks For the help! I appreciate it!
Not Again!
So........ the issue has continiued , after two weeks of perfect performance.
well....i guess the screen is to blame here , because when i touch it in places , that i know a button exists i can feel the vibration!
Ive been playing paintball and running around with the phone in my pocket , so i guess ill have to start saving money for a screen repair
So root wasn't here to blame.
Guys, i think my phone have some problem with it. I was charging my phone, screen was turned on as usual whenever it charging. But then my phone started to restart with all of sudden and stuck on the SONY logo then repeat (bootloop). Not on the loading screen (Xperia boot animation or in my current ROM Xperia T boot animation). The worst thing is I can not enter CWM or Flashmode in flashtool.I can only enter fastboot mode in flashtool.Ive been using Ultimate HD since 2 weeks ago but just today it happen like this.So can anyone help me with this?
Btw I did flash the ACID audio v5 before this happens. Then got a bootloop and I reflashed the Ultimate HD.
Use seus mate.
I flashed acid onto my rom a week back and had the same issue.
Out of curiosity did you clear cache partition and wipe d cache?
Ignore my 1st comment.
I flashed the stock ftf file and it solve the problem.
"The worst thing is I can not enter CWM or Flashmode in flashtool" actually i pressed the wrong button when asked to do so..
Nice...!

Hello!
I have a really weird problem with my xperia play. Tomorrow after the phone turned off because of empty battery, it stucks after the boot animation. However I'm able to lock/unlock it, it still shows the animation. I can even unlock the phone! But the display is always showing the SE logo
It seems like nobody else had this problem before. Before it turned off I played Asphalt 6 and i also set up the supercharged v6 script in the same session. I tested Chainfire3d that day but I also removed it correctly again and I removed some bloatware that day. It's an R800i, stock firmware and stock bootloader, but it's rooted. Does anybody know how I could fix it without reflashing the ROM? Of course I would do so if necessary.
EDIT: When I turn it off correctly it is almost instantly shut down.
EDIT2: Ok, forget it. Sorry that I spammed the board, I now simply unlocked and flashed it.
Thanks in advance

Too late Now it's unlocked.
So I flashed the eXistenZ BLACK Edition V1 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2271613 and now my phone won't start up. It seems pretty much dead. It vibrates though but I get no activity on the display. Help?
I think You have downgraded Your phone thus leading to brick. Try rebooting in fastboot mode and installing stock firmware ftf using using flashtool.

Can You provide the link to the ROM You installed? Because I don't remember Xperia S having a ROM with such a name.
Hi,
I have a Xperia Play r800i.
I CFW it two years ago, and flash a 4.4 Android (I don't remember exactly wich one).
A few time later I flash a 5.1 Android, that runs some time then stop totally. When it happens, phone just turn on, then show the Lupus Kernel Logo, then show a fuzzy screen, like an old TV. Because of this, I think it's a software issue, not a hardware.
I try to flash a stock firmware but not changes, the same issue happen with a "Sony Ericsson" logo. Sometimes it just get stuck in a bootloop with the logo, but sometimes it display the sad fuzzy screen again.
:crying:

You need to replace the main flex slider cable.
